Abstract

Vision-and-Language Navigation in Continuous Environments (VLN-CE) requires agents to follow natural-language instructions in unseen scenes. While Large Models (LMs) have advanced VLN-CE, their performance remains severely degraded by real-world visual corruptions, a critical yet underexplored domain constraint. We introduce Temporal Conditional Flow Decorruptor (FlowDec), a novel image restoration framework tailored for LM-based VLN-CE. FlowDec integrates a hybrid temporal conditioning strategy to align the generative flow path with historical context and employs action-centroid guided filtering to dynamically assess and integrate outputs. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FlowDec outperforms state-of-the-art decorruption methods in both navigation accuracy and generation latency. Our approach establishes a robust, efficient paradigm for resilient embodied navigation in unpredictable real-world conditions.

SC^{2}-WM: A Self-Correcting World Model with Closed-Loop Feedback for Vision-and-Language Navigation in Continuous Environments

Vision-and-Language Navigation in Continuous Environments (VLN-CE) requires agents to make fine-grained navigation decisions under partial observability. However, most existing methods rely on open-loop execution, lacking mechanisms to detect and correct internal state drift during inference. We propose SC2^{2}-WM, a self-correcting world model framework that introduces internal feedback for closed-loop decision making in VLN-CE. Our method derives feedback from world-model foresight to perform state-level plan refinement before action execution. To handle challenging scenarios, we further introduce conditional world-aware adaptation, which enables model-level correction by selectively updating the world model at test time when feedback indicates model capacity insufficiency. Experiments on standard VLN-CE benchmarks demonstrate improved navigation robustness and generalization. Our code is available at https://github.com/sunrise-ikun/SC2_WM.

LiveVLN: Breaking the Stop-and-Go Loop in Vision-Language Navigation

Recent navigation systems achieve strong benchmark results, yet real-world deployment often remains visibly stop-and-go. This bottleneck arises because the sense-inference-execution loop is still blocking: after each new observation, the controller must wait for sensing, transmission, and inference before motion can continue. Reducing action-generation cost alone therefore does not remove redundant waiting. To address this issue, we present LiveVLN, a training-free framework for more continuous embodied navigation by augmenting pretrained VLM navigators with multi-step action continuation. Instead of pausing for each full sense-and-inference round, LiveVLN overlaps execution with the processing of newly arrived observations, allowing refreshed future actions to be handed off before the current executable prefix is exhausted. This design keeps actions continuously available during motion, reducing idle waiting and enabling smoother online execution. The framework operates at runtime and can be integrated with compatible pretrained VLM navigators. Across R2R and RxR, LiveVLN preserves benchmark performance while reducing waiting time and improving action availability. In real-world deployments, it cuts average episode waiting time by up to 77.7%77.7\% and shortens wall-clock episode time by 12.6%12.6\% on StreamVLN and 19.6%19.6\% on NaVIDA, yielding more coherent execution during deployment. MemVLN: Episodic and Procedural Memory for Vision-and-Language Navigation

Vision-and-Language Navigation in Continuous Environments (VLN-CE) requires agents to maintain long-horizon visual history for trajectory consistency while executing actions with low latency. Existing video-based VLN approaches typically struggle to satisfy both demands simultaneously. To address these challenges, we propose MemVLN, a novel VLN framework that achieves state-of-the-art performance with real-time inference efficiency (14 FPS). MemVLN utilizes a visual encoder to process continuous observations and a Large Language Model (LLM) to interpret instructions and generate actions. Central to our approach is an Episodic Memory management that applies pyramidal resolutions. This mechanism concentrates computation on immediate percepts while retaining compressed long-term history. Complementing to this design, we introduce Procedural Memory for fast action with a compact vocabulary of atomic mid-level actions to bypass auto-regressive decoding latency. Experiments on VLN-CE show that MemVLN-4B surpasses the baseline Qwen3-VL-4B architecture by 5.8% SR in R2R and 9.7% SR in RxR, while achieving a 7×\times speedup in inference latency.
