Abstract

We propose a mask-free method for lossless multi-object 3D reconstruction from sparse and occluded real-world views, enabling physically plausible robotic interaction via Material Point Method (MPM) simulation. Our key insight is that object coupling stems from occlusion and limited viewpoints, which we address by formulating multi-object decoupling as a sparse-view reconstruction problem. Using 3D Gaussian Splatting as base representation, we first obtain coarse instance partitions with a SAM2-trained segmentation field. Rather than relying on masks, we reconstruct fragmented geometries by leveraging a joint Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) process, which integrates reference-view supervision with novel-view synthesis guided by 2D and 3D diffusion priors to enforce both texture fidelity and 3D consistency. Furthermore, we incorporate geometry-aware priors such as intra-object and inter-object similarity to regularize geometric reasoning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method produces complete, simulation-ready 3D objects without requiring manual masks, enabling realistic dynamic interactions on both synthetic, robotic and real-world datasets.

SAM3D-Phys: Towards Multi-Object Interactive Simulation in Real World

This work addresses the problem of recovering complete, simulatable object geometry from reconstructed real-world scenes, enabling physics-based interaction with objects embedded in the scene. While modern multi-view reconstruction methods can produce visually accurate environments, objects are often incomplete due to occlusions and limited observations, making them unsuitable for physics simulation. To address this limitation, we propose SAM3D-Phys, a framework that integrates scene reconstruction with generative 3D priors of SAM3D to recover physically simulatable objects. Our approach first reconstructs the scene from multi-view images to obtain scene geometry and partial observations of objects. We then leverage SAM3D to infer complete object geometry from these partial observations. To ensure that the recovered objects remain consistent with the reconstructed scene, we restore scene-consistent object states through two complementary strategies: a physics-constrained spatial optimization algorithm that iteratively aligns the recovered object to its original location, and a mask-guided appearance distillation module that refines texture fidelity based on the observed images. By recovering complete object geometry and restoring its pose and appearance within the scene, SAM3D-Phys produces clean object representations suitable for physics-based simulation, enabling simultaneous and physically consistent interactive simulation of multiple objects within a reconstructed scene. SAMV-DUSt3R: Instance-Centric 3D Scene Decoupling from Sparse Multi-Views

With the rising demand to decouple objects from 3D scenes, we propose SAMV-DUSt3R, an end-to-end model that injects SAM2 2D masks into MV-DUSt3R reconstruction. A Cross Flow Mask Block uses these masks to steer the network toward the target instance, jointly improving shape accuracy and achieving object-level disentanglement without multi-stage pipelines. To ensure reconstruction stability, a lightweight Spatial RankGNN selects the optimal reference view with a selection accuracy of 73.5%. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method boosts average reconstruction precision by 11% across various metrics compared to state-of-the-art baselines. These results reveal a strong instance-disentanglement capability and clear benefits for driving, robotics, AR/VR, and heritage digitisation.

Reconstruction by Generation: 3D Multi-Object Scene Reconstruction from Sparse Observations

Accurately reconstructing complex full multi-object scenes from sparse observations remains a core challenge in computer vision and a key step toward scalable and reliable simulation for robotics. In this work, we introduce RecGen, a generative framework for probabilistic joint estimation of object and part shapes, as well as their pose under occlusion and partial visibility from one or multiple RGB-D images. By leveraging compositional synthetic scene generation and strong 3D shape priors, RecGen generalizes across diverse object types and real-world environments. RecGen achieves state-of-the-art performance on complex, heavily occluded datasets, robustly handling severe occlusions, symmetric objects, object parts, and intricate geometry and texture. Despite using nearly 80% fewer training meshes than the previous state of the art SAM3D, RecGen outperforms it by 30.1% in geometric shape quality, 9.1% in texture reconstruction, and 33.9% in pose estimation.
