A fundamental intent asymmetry plagues modern 3D asset creation: while state-of-the-art 3D toolchains demand precise, executable parameters, ordinary users typically provide vague, underspecified instructions. Current 3D agents treat this ambiguity as noise, defaulting to blind execution under a single-turn assumption. To address this limitation, we introduce CLARE, a clarification-aware and evolutionary 3D agent that treats intent asymmetry not as an execution error, but as an opportunity for strategic dialogue. By decoupling the generation pipeline into four specialized cognitive roles, CLARE intercepts and resolves underspecified instructions before invoking computationally expensive 3D tools to seamlessly execute tasks across five diverse domains: text-to-3D generation, single-view reconstruction, multi-view reconstruction, point cloud editing, and post-processing. Crucially, rather than relying on rigid manual rules, CLARE self-evolves its clarification policy via simulated multi-turn interactions. By optimizing a Multi-turn Reward, the agent internalizes the delicate balance between interaction efficiency and task completion. To rigorously test this, we construct 3D-Clarify, a comprehensive benchmark comprising 620 interaction scenarios with systematically injected ambiguity, missing information, and mistaken details. CLARE achieves state-of-the-art performance, with 60.40% and 43.34% success rates on single-step and multi-step tasks, respectively, more than doubling existing baselines. Both quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate that proactive clarification is the missing key to robust 3D execution. Code is available at https://github.com/xyzhu1225/CLARE.
Recent agentic frameworks for 3D scene synthesis have advanced realism and diversity by integrating heterogeneous generation and editing tools. These tools are organized into workflows orchestrated by an off-the-shelf LLM. Current approaches typically adopt an execute-review-reflect loop: at each step, the orchestrator executes a tool, renders intermediate results for review, and then decides on the tool and its parameters for the next step. However, this design has two key limitations. First, next-step tool selection and parameter configuration are driven by heuristic rules, which can lead to suboptimal execution flows, unnecessary tool invocations, degraded output quality, and increased runtime. Second, rendering and reviewing intermediate results after each step introduces additional latency. To address these issues, we propose SceneOrchestra, a trainable orchestration framework that optimizes the tool-call execution flow and eliminates the step-by-step review loop, improving both efficiency and output quality. SceneOrchestra consists of an orchestrator and a discriminator, which we fine-tune with a two-phase training strategy. In the first phase, the orchestrator learns context-aware tool selection and complete tool-call trajectory generation, while the discriminator is trained to assess the quality of full trajectories, enabling it to select the best trajectory from multiple candidates. In the second phase, we perform interleaved training, where the discriminator adapts to the orchestrator's evolving trajectory distribution and distills its discriminative capability back into the orchestrator. At inference, we only use the orchestrator to generate and execute full tool-call trajectories from instructions, without requiring the discriminator. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art scene quality while reducing runtime compared to previous work.
Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have emerged as promising layout agents for 3D scene generation. Existing layout agents still suffer from implausible layout generation because most of them convert 3D assets and 3D layouts into textual descriptions as inputs and outputs, which involves severe information loss due to the modality gap between texts and 3D assets and 3D layouts. We propose NaLA, a native 3D LLM layout Agent for high-quality 3D scene generation by placing 3D assets in the scene. For the inputs, NaLA encodes 3D scene boundaries and 3D assets directly into the LLM, preserving fine-grained geometry and enabling explicit reasoning over relationships like collisions, surface supporting, and containment. To accurately output the positions and orientations of assets, NaLA adopts a coarse-to-fine prediction mechanism that first predicts discrete poses in an autoregressive manner and then refines the discrete poses with a continuous regression. Trained on diverse layout datasets, NaLA attains strong geometric perception and layout coherence. Experiments demonstrate that NaLA outperforms prior layout agents in both generation quality and inference efficiency, with comprehensive ablation studies to verify each component's effectiveness.
While 3D generation is progressing rapidly, recent work has often focused on obtaining high-resolution assets, leaving user experience and deployability as afterthoughts. We present AssetGen, a 3D generator that focuses instead on these two aspects. Given one reference image, in 30 seconds it produces a high-quality mesh with baked normals, a color texture, and a controlled polygon budget suitable for real-time rendering, including mobile use cases. The AssetGen Flash variant further reduces latency to 14 seconds for interactive and agentic creation loops. Our model generates the object geometry with a coarse-to-refine VecSet framework, which implements mesh simplification, cleaning, and normal baking on the GPU, and a fast parallel UV unwrapping. It then generates textures in a multi-view fashion, followed by backprojection and 3D inpainting. Model distillation, kernel optimization, and pipeline parallelization are co-designed to accelerate the system end-to-end. We introduce numerous automated and blind human evaluations and demonstrate competitive visual quality against leading commercial solutions in 30 seconds and preview-quality results in less than 15 seconds. The final result is a system that supports AI-assisted, deployable 3D content creation in interactive workflows.
