Abstract

Large view synthesis models synthesize novel views through cross-view attention without explicit 3D representations, and recent studies have shown that they learn accurate spatial correspondence from RGB supervision alone. We observe that this correspondence generalizes beyond appearance. When non-photorealistic signals such as binary encoded panoptic labels are passed through the model, they are propagated to novel views with consistent spatial structure. These results indicate that the correspondence learned for RGB view synthesis can also propagate view-independent per-pixel labels. From this observation, we present the first work to extend large view synthesis models beyond appearance rendering to 3D scene understanding. We propose a panoptic segmentation pipeline that reuses a frozen view synthesis model to propagate panoptic labels from input views to novel views, without 3D reconstruction or any segmentation-specific training of the view synthesis model. Given panoptic labels on the input views, we encode them into binary channel representations and pass them through the same model to render target-view segmentation. On ScanNet, our method achieves segmentation quality on par with Gaussian based approaches requiring explicit 3D reconstruction, while outperforming them in novel view synthesis by more than 7 dB. The label propagation also transfers across datasets, surpassing these approaches on Replica without any fine-tuning.

DVSM: Decoder-only View Synthesis Model Done Right

Recent Large View Synthesis Models (LVSMs) advocate an encoder-decoder architecture that separates reconstruction and rendering into distinct networks. We re-examine this design. Through controlled experiments, we show that a decoder-only architecture, which represents scenes implicitly as a KV-cache, outperforms encoder-decoder variants while using fewer parameters at identical rendering complexity. Further analysis shows that sharing weights between the color-input reconstruction network and the camera-only rendering network better aligns their features at the same viewpoint, facilitating image synthesis. Building on this finding, our model, dubbed DVSM, further incorporates foundation model priors and stage-wise patch sizing for an improved efficiency-quality tradeoff. Our results establish a new state of the art for novel-view synthesis across multiple benchmarks, in some cases even outperforming per-scene-optimized 3DGS under dense input views.

PanoPlane: Plane-Aware Panoramic Completion for Sparse-View Indoor 3D Gaussian Splatting

We present PanoPlane, an approach for high-fidelity sparse-view indoor novel view synthesis that reconstructs closed room geometry via panoramic scene completion. Unlike perspective-based methods that generate training views from limited fields of view, PanoPlane leverages 360360^{\circ} panoramic completion to condition the generative process on the full spatial layout. We propose Layout Anchored Attention Steering, a training-free mechanism that steers attention within the diffusion model's internal representation toward scene's detected planar surfaces at inference time. By directing each unobserved region's attention toward geometrically consistent observed content, our method replaces unconstrained hallucination with grounded surface extrapolation. The resulting panoramic completions provide supervision for 3D Gaussian Splatting, enabling accurate novel-view synthesis across unobserved regions from as few as three input views. Experiments on Replica, ScanNet++, and Matterport3D demonstrate state-of-the-art novel view synthesis quality across 3, 6, and 9 input views, achieving up to +17.8%+17.8\% improvement in PSNR over the current state-of-the-art baseline without any training or fine-tuning of the diffusion model.

Pano2World: End-to-End 3D Generation via Unified Multi-View Sequences

A single panorama captures the full visual sphere from one camera center, yet confines users to looking around in place without enabling true scene exploration. Converting a single panorama into a persistent, renderable 3D representation for free-viewpoint navigation has attracted growing interest; existing methods either adopt iterative per-view completion that propagates inpainting results to update the underlying geometry, leading to progressive error accumulation and cumbersome multi-step pipelines, or leverage the temporal consistency priors of video generation models, yet the continuous-trajectory constraint intrinsic to such models limits their flexibility in covering scenes from multiple directions simultaneously. We present Pano2World, which takes a single indoor panorama as input and directly outputs a persistent, explorable 3D Gaussian scene. Given the source panorama, Pano2World first reconstructs a coarse 3D Gaussian proxy and renders it at adaptively sampled nearby poses to obtain geometrically aligned guidance panoramas; a panoramic diffusion model then jointly denoises all target views via View-Aware Attention Routing, where each target view simultaneously receives geometric constraints from its corresponding guidance panorama and global semantic guidance from the source panorama, naturally enforcing cross-view consistency. To avoid the information loss incurred by decoding the multi-view hidden features formed during joint denoising back to the pixel domain via VAE, we introduce Latent Feature Adapter, a geometry-aware bridge module that directly distills these hidden features into a scene latent, subsequently decoded into the final 3D Gaussian scene. Experiments demonstrate that Pano2World significantly outperforms existing methods on the multi-position panoramic novel-view synthesis benchmark.
