Abstract

We present Stockmark-Nemotron-3-Nano-Omni-JapanDocReader, a Japanese document understanding model built from Nemotron-3-Nano-Omni-30B-A3B-Reasoning-BF16. The central goal of this work is structured document parsing via capability injection and forgetting control: we inject Japanese structured document parsing capability into a reasoning-oriented multimodal model while preserving its document VQA capability as much as possible. We study parsing-centric SFT, which uses only structured document parsing data; mixed SFT, which combines structured document parsing and VQA data; and parsing-centric RL, which optimizes structured parsing with a task-level reward. Our experiments show that parsing-centric SFT substantially improves structured document parsing performance but causes measurable VQA forgetting. Mixed SFT mitigates this forgetting while preserving nearly the same structured parsing performance. Applying DAPO-based parsing-centric RL on top of the mixed SFT checkpoint further improves structured document parsing beyond the SFT ceiling, producing the final released model. The training data is constructed with a data engine consisting of two complementary synthetic streams: a Japanese Document VQA Stream and a programmatic structured document parsing stream. We also discuss reward design and variance-based prompt filtering for continuous structured document parsing rewards, highlighting their importance for making RL effective in long-reasoning structured document parsing tasks.

Infinity-Parser2 Technical Report

We present Infinity-Parser2, a large multimodal model that couples a controllable data-synthesis pipeline with multi-task reinforcement learning for end-to-end document parsing, addressing the persistent scarcity of faithfully annotated parsing corpora. Our contributions are threefold. First, we build a scalable synthesis engine, pairing a controllable rendering framework with an iterative refinement loop, and use it to construct and open-source Infinity-Doc2-5M: a 5-million-sample bilingual (Chinese/English) corpus spanning diverse document types, annotated with element bounding boxes, canonical content forms (Markdown, HTML, LaTeX, SMILES, structured charts), and full-page reading order. Second, we introduce a verifiable, multi-task reward system that enables Joint Reinforcement Learning across eight co-trained objectives (document parsing, layout analysis, table parsing, math formula parsing, chart parsing, chemical formula parsing, document VQA, and general multimodal understanding), unifying perception, structure, and reasoning in a single optimization signal. Third, we release two variants under a shared architecture: Infinity-Parser2-Flash, optimized for low-latency inference with a 3.68x throughput gain over Infinity-Parser-7B, and Infinity-Parser2-Pro, engineered for precision-critical settings. Infinity-Parser2-Pro reaches state-of-the-art 87.6% on olmOCR-Bench and 74.3% on ParseBench, surpassing DeepSeek-OCR-2, PaddleOCR-VL-1.5, and MinerU2.5, with strong generalization to charts, chemical formulas, and document VQA.

ParseFixer: An Agentic Framework for Document Parsing via Selective Multimodal Correction

In this report, we present our third-place solution for the DataMFM Challenge Track 1: Document Parsing. This track requires models to recover structured Markdown documents from document page images while preserving textual content and document structure. To address the complementary requirements of accurate content recovery and faithful structure reconstruction, we propose ParseFixer, an agentic framework for backbone parsing and selective correction. ParseFixer consists of two key modules: Full-Page Backbone Parsing (FBP) and Agentic Selective Correction (ASC). FBP produces stable initial Markdown outputs with MinerU2.5 Pro, while ASC detects high-value parsing failures and repairs them through a verify-and-rollback correction process. By placing selective multimodal correction after open-source backbone parsing, ParseFixer improves the recovery of key document elements without rewriting reliable backbone predictions. On the test set, our final system achieves an overall score of 61.78 and ranks third in Track 1, demonstrating its effectiveness for accurate document parsing. Our code will be released at: https://github.com/iLearn-Lab/CVPRW26-ParseFixer.

Stop Thinking, Start Looking: Efficient Post-Training for Multimodal Document Question Answering via Reasoning-Free Alignment

Efficient multimodal document question answering with explicit visual grounding, locating the precise document region that supports each answer remains an open challenge. Current approaches bifurcate into Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), which requires large annotated datasets and reaches optimization plateaus, and reasoning-centric Reinforcement Learning (RL), which depends on verbose intermediate traces that inflate inference token cost without clear benefit. We introduce Perception-RFT, a training framework that applies Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) to multimodal document QA, bypassing intermediate reasoning tokens to directly align visual features with structured grounding outputs. To rigorously evaluate the necessity of reasoning, we construct a reasoning variant under identical reward settings. We find that reasoning-enabled models suppress their reasoning traces during training, converging to direct perception-based policies at the 4B parameter scale, reducing per-query inference token length by more than 60%, while reasoning-enabled RL underperforms perception-only training. Through a fine-grained analysis of Qwen3-VL-4B optimization dynamics, we confirm that SFT saturation and cold-start RL instability established in text-domain post-training extend to multimodal, and identify a previously uncharacterized Grounding Divergence: a selective trade-off between semantic robustness and geometric precision on two out of distribution (OOD) benchmarks (4,828 samples) under joint RL optimization. We further show that an early SFT\rightarrowRL transition achieves comparable precision with 65% less training data.
