ENTLORE: A Graph-Grounded Benchmark for Latent Organizational Reasoning in Enterprise Question Answering

Abstract

Enterprise question answering is framed as retrieving internal documents and generating grounded answers. Routine enterprise records, however, are work by-products in which required organizational relations remain implicit across heterogeneous sources. Existing benchmarks provide realistic multi-source evidence, but often materialize a predefined answer path and therefore test the composition of stated facts rather than recovery of a target relation absent from the corpus. We call the latter capability latent organizational reasoning. We introduce ENTLORE, a graph-grounded benchmark construction framework that reconstructs an audited enterprise world from routine documents, authoritative organizational tables, and operational records. Versioned organizational conventions certify derived relations in a truth graph, enabling complete golden answers and proof certificates. The aligned anonymized release exposes only the document corpus while withholding private structure and target relations. ENTLORE contains 2,341 documents from three source types and 907 questions spanning explicit lookup, cross-source composition, and latent organizational reasoning, evaluated across 56 model and access configurations. Structuring the released world as an induced entity graph or navigable knowledge base gives the strongest deployable results. Yet supplying gold documents still leaves 30.4% of latent questions unanswered, versus 12.6% and 6.2% for explicit and compositional questions. Enterprise QA therefore depends not only on document recall, but also on whether implicit organizational relations become usable. LakeQuest: A Three-Domain Benchmark for Grounded Question Answering across Data Lakes

While modern question answering (QA) systems excel on clean, schema-aligned corpora, real-world knowledge is rarely so neatly packaged. Answering questions over enterprise and scientific data lakes requires systems to navigate heterogeneous, weakly structured collections of tables, passages, and linked metadata. Current benchmarks abstract away this noisy discovery process, failing to evaluate end-to-end performance. To bridge this gap, we introduce LakeQuest, a human-validated benchmark of 9,846 QA pairs designed to evaluate the end-to-end retrieve-and-synthesize pipeline over realistic data lakes. LakeQuest spans three diverse domains (AI/ML metadata, retail banking, and multimodal biomedical drug information) and pairs every question with exact, modality-aware evidence pointers. By isolating source discovery from cross-modal synthesis, LakeQuest exposes critical failure modes in modern QA systems. Our baseline evaluations, including standard Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic tool-use methods, reveal that high-quality retrieval does not guarantee correct reasoning. Systems consistently struggle with relation chaining in metadata graphs, policy grounding in bank ledgers, and joint tabular QA in biomedical contexts, highlighting the need for robust discovery and faithful cross-file composition mechanisms in future agentic QA systems.

WinSyn: An Automated Pipeline for Realistic Enterprise Question-Answering Evaluation

Enterprise settings provide a challenging environment for question-answering agents, which often rely on Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Deep Research (DR), and related techniques. Much of this challenge comes from the complexity of enterprise data: information is often spread across evolving and potentially conflict- ing emails, chat messages, documents, and other artifacts. Existing benchmarks typically have limited real-world complexity, short-form responses, and unnatural queries, so they often fail to capture the challenges of enterprise settings. In this work, we introduce an automated pipeline for generating synthetic datasets of emails reflecting realistic workplace scenarios, along with long- and short-form questions and gold answers grounded in the data. Our method simulates long-running enterprise projects spanning several months and involving up to 25 interacting employees across multiple roles. The data emphasizes ambiguity, distributed information, and naturally occurring queries. To validate the pipeline, we evaluate few standard agentic baselines on our datasets using the latest frontier models. We find that aggregate scores averaged over all queries remain below 80% for each dataset, indicating significant room for improvement. These findings suggest that more work remains to be done for enterprise deployment and underscore the importance of realistic, high-complexity evaluation data for developing stronger real-world enterprise DR systems.

The Era by Eon Benchmark: A Generated Enterprise Estate with Exact Ground Truth for Benchmarking LLM Agents

LLM agents for enterprise systems of record cannot be evaluated on customer production data, and no existing substitute provides ground truth. We present the Era by Eon Benchmark for evaluating LLM agents that use enterprise tools. The benchmark is built around a complete fictional company. It includes product simulators, company-specific internal databases, benchmark questions, and computed answer keys. Industry, company size, business model, application portfolio, and a seed define each company. One seeded entity graph supplies shared company data to simulators of Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, Gong, and other products. A questionconditioned generator creates the schemas and records for internal databases. It takes shared entities, keys, and values from the same graph before generating database-specific facts. Both mechanisms therefore describe one consistent enterprise estate. Every expected answer is computed from the final records, so grading is exact. Design and answer-key checks validate the internal databases. A realism scorecard and adversarial detector validate the entity graph. Across 23 generated companies, the mean realism score rose from 61.8 to 97.0, with zero records flagged as synthetic. In the reported simulator-track comparison, nine models answered the same 33 questions three times each. Accuracy estimates ranged from 42.4% to 76.8%, and three of 36 pairwise differences remained supported after correction.
