Abstract

We present GCA (Gaussian Constitutive Alignment), a framework for learning implicit constitutive laws from monocular dynamic video of deformable objects represented by 3D Gaussians. Given a static multi-view scan for geometric initialization, our method learns intrinsic physical dynamics solely from a single fixed-viewpoint video of the moving object. Existing implicit methods often suffer from local minima under noisy supervision and lack physical interpretability, while explicit approaches rely on predefined constitutive equations, limiting generalizability and becoming unstable in monocular settings. To address these challenges, our framework unifies LoRA-based adaptation with two key alignment modules. First, we propose Rank-based Depth-Geometric Anchors (RDGA) to establish robust geometric constraints from monocular dynamic observations via scale-invariant rank-based depth alignment, reducing the reliance on unreliable pixel-level color supervision. Second, a Constitutive Prior Regularizer (CPR) integrates classical constitutive models as soft differentiable priors, regularizing the optimization while preserving the flexibility of implicit modeling---even when the actual material is absent from the hypotheses. Extensive experiments on synthetic, real-to-sim, and real-world datasets demonstrate that GCA outperforms existing methods, achieving 48% lower Chamfer Distance than the strongest baseline on synthetic benchmarks while remaining robust under monocular supervision.

ProDyGS: Dynamic Gaussian Splatting from a Single Static Monocular Camera

We present ProDyGS, a novel dynamic 3D Gaussian Splatting framework for high-quality novel view synthesis from videos captured by a single static camera. While existing methods rely on multi-view setups or significant camera motion for geometric constraints, our approach addresses the challenging scenario where multi-view supervision is completely absent. We overcome this limitation by generating synthetic multi-view supervision through depth-guided proxy image synthesis. Specifically, we estimate temporally consistent depth maps using foundational monocular depth networks, then construct 3D Gaussian representations that generate proxy images from arbitrary viewpoints. A deformation network learns temporal dynamics by warping canonical Gaussians using this augmented supervision. Experiments on the DyNeRF dataset demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance while requiring only monocular depth estimation as external supervision, outperforming approaches that rely on stronger priors such as scene flow.

RiGS: Rigid-aware 4D Gaussian Splatting from a Single Monocular Video

Reconstructing dynamic 3D scenes from monocular videos is a fundamental yet highly challenging task, as real-world motions often involve both long-term smooth transformations and short-term complex deformations. Existing methods either struggle to maintain temporal consistency or fail to capture high-frequency dynamics due to limited motion modeling capacity. In this work, we present Rigid-aware 4D Gaussian Splatting (RiGS), which simultaneously captures motions across multiple temporal scales. Specifically, RiGS introduces three types of Gaussian primitives: static, rigid, and transient, which represent static backgrounds, long-term low-frequency motions, and short-term high-frequency dynamics, respectively. An object-wise dynamic mask is proposed to aggregate long-range spatiotemporal motion information and guide the decomposition of static and dynamic regions. To jointly model motion across scales, rigid Gaussians are allowed to transition into transient Gaussians based on their temporal duration, and both are optimized under scene flow guidance, providing dense 3D motion supervision. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RiGS achieves state-of-the-art performance on novel view synthesis benchmarks. Accelerated Spatio-Temporal Gaussian Rendering via Kinematic and Semantic Priors

Reconstructing dynamic 3D scenes from multi-view videos is a foundational task for robotics, AR/VR, and digital twins. While 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) provides state-of-the art scene representation, its dynamic adaptations (4DGS) face significant challenges. Early MLP-based deformation models excel at interpolating within training frames but fail at temporal extrapolation --- important feature for forecasting in predictive systems. To address this, physically grounded approaches have been proposed to enable robust future forecasting, while, concurrently, semantic 4DGS methods have been developed for scene analysis and language-driven prompting. However, there is currently no framework that unites both physical consistency and semantic understanding. In this paper, we propose the first, to the best of our knowledge, unified 4DGS approach that is both physically grounded and semantically aware. Furthermore, to optimize computational efficiency, we introduce a novel rigid-body constraint mechanism. Instead of predicting the physical dynamics for every Gaussian particle, our model predicts the motion of a single anchor Gaussian per semantic object, updating the remaining Gaussians via relative transformations. This architectural design significantly accelerates novel view synthesis compared to an unconstrained baseline, while enabling object-accurate extrapolation and intuitive semantic interaction.
