Abstract

In dynamic and unstructured environments, conventional SLAM systems generally suffer from significant accuracy degeneration due to their static assumptions. In this work, we propose Robust Semantic-aware Gaussian Splatting SLAM (RoSe-SLAM), to address the dynamic challenge by a holistic semantic scene understanding from uncalibrated monocular inputs, achieving accurate camera tracking and high-quality geometry reconstruction. Unlike conventional semantic SLAM using handcrafted semantic labels, our RoSe-SLAM exploits the semantic feature from 2D foundation model to enhance the dynamic tracking and mapping performance. By distilling the rich semantic features to our Gaussian fields, our method effectively identifies dynamic distractors and achieves semantic-aware multi-view consistency, significantly enhancing the geometric reconstruction and scene inpainting. Specifically, we propose a spatial-temporal motion mask generation module, enabling both long-term motion monitoring and short-term transient dynamics capturing, achieving robust and effective disentanglement of dynamic objects and static backgrounds. During global bundle adjustment, we propose an occlusion-aware keyframe selection mechanism to prioritize the occlusion as metric to pick the keyframes, and a multi-view semantic consistency module to improve the mapping quality in dynamic environments. By combining geometric motion cues with semantic priors, our system dynamically filters unreliable observations and reconstructs accurate static scene geometry. Extensive experiments conducted on benchmark datasets including dynamic TUM, Bonn and Wild-Mocap datasets, demonstrate that our method achieves superior performance in both trajectory estimation and static scene mapping, outperforming existing dynamic RGB SLAM baselines in long-term dynamic indoor environments.

DL-SLAM: Enabling High-Fidelity Gaussian Splatting SLAM in Dynamic Environments based on Dual-Level Probability

Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have enabled significant progress in dense dynamic Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM). Prevailing methods typically discard predefined dynamic objects, ignoring that transiently static objects offer valuable geometric constraints for pose estimation. A recent work attempts to leverage this potential by employing per-pixel uncertainty maps to quantify the magnitude of motion. While this approach enables transiently static objects to enhance pose estimation, it erroneously integrates these objects into the static map, resulting in persistent artifacts. Moreover, its reliance on purely geometric information leads to ambiguous object boundaries in the uncertainty maps. To overcome these limitations, we present DL-SLAM, a monocular Gaussian Splatting SLAM system built upon a novel dual-level probabilistic framework. Our method computes dynamic probability maps by combining semantic and geometric information. These pixel-level probabilities are lifted to 3D and aggregated to derive an object-level dynamic probability for each instance. Object-level probability enables the categorical pruning of dynamic Gaussians, resulting in an artifact-free static map. The static map, in turn, provides a geometrically consistent guidance to refine the pixel-wise probabilities, enhancing their reliability. Experimental results demonstrate that DL-SLAM outperforms existing approaches, improving tracking accuracy by up to 13% while generating high-fidelity semantic maps.

Flow4DGS-SLAM: Optical Flow-Guided 4D Gaussian Splatting SLAM

Handling the dynamic environments is a significant research challenge in Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). Recent research combines 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) with SLAM to achieve both robust camera pose estimation and photorealistic renderings. However, using SLAM to efficiently reconstruct both static and dynamic regions remains challenging. In this work, we propose an efficient framework for dynamic 3DGS SLAM guided by optical flow. Using the input depth and prior optical flow, we first propose a category-agnostic motion mask generation strategy by fitting a camera ego-motion model to decompose the optical flow. This module separates dynamic and static Gaussians and simultaneously provides flow-guided camera pose initialization. We boost the training speed of dynamic 3DGS by explicitly modeling their temporal centers at keyframes. These centers are propagated using 3D scene flow priors and are dynamically initialized with an adaptive insertion strategy. Alongside this, we model the temporal opacity and rotation using a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) to adaptively learn the complex dynamics. The empirical results demonstrate our state-of-the-art performance in tracking, dynamic reconstruction, and training efficiency.

SCOUT-SLAM: Structurally-Coupled Dual Uncertainty-Aware 3DGS SLAM in the Wild

Recently, 3D Gaussian Splatting SLAM (3DGS-SLAM) has gained significant momentum in simultaneous localization and 3DGS scene reconstruction. In real-world scenarios with rapid camera motion and cluttered dynamic environments, existing methods rely on the stability of the underlying scene reconstruction to model uncertainty. This leads to a circular dependency between camera tracking accuracy and reconstruction quality: reconstruction instabilities degrade uncertainty modeling, which affects accurate camera tracking and static scene reconstruction. To address this, the paper proposes SCOUT-SLAM, a structurally-coupled dual-uncertainty framework in which both uncertainties are estimated from a shared base network. A low-rank adaptation of this network, trained on multi-view feature consistency, estimates a tracking uncertainty that does not depend solely on the reconstruction quality. A spatially-adaptive prior modulates the network's training objective so that reconstruction instability does not inflate uncertainty on static regions, keeping the shared representation intact for both branches. Evaluations on dynamic benchmarks (TUM RGB-D, Bonn Dynamic, Wild-SLAM MoCap) demonstrate that SCOUT-SLAM achieves state-of-the-art camera tracking accuracy and artifact-free static scene reconstruction.
