Light field (LF) reconstruction from limited and noisy focal stack (FS) measurements is a highly ill-posed inverse problem. Although the LF-to-FS imaging geometry is fixed for a given optical setup, LF spatial-angular structure---including within-view spatial details, cross-view angular dependencies, and disparity across views---varies across scenes. Consequently, a fixed pre-trained prior may not optimally capture the spatial-angular structure of each test LF. We propose Structure-aware Test-time Adaptation for diffusion-based light field Reconstruction (STAR), the first test-time adaptation framework for reconstructing an LF from FS. For each test LF, STAR freezes a pre-trained diffusion prior and fits three lightweight adapters to the observed FS to jointly adapt the three components of the LF's spatial-angular structure. STAR outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in both two- and three-focal-sheet settings, with shorter inference times than those with test-time parameter updates.
Light-field microscopy (LFM) enables single-shot capture of multi-angular information from biological samples, supporting real-time volumetric imaging. However, traditional physics-based algorithms often suffer from limited spatial resolution, severe artifacts, and high computational costs. Existing learning-based methods improve inference efficiency but still face limitations in reconstruction accuracy and generalization capability. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a high-fidelity Three-Step Conditional Diffusion (TCD) 3D reconstruction method for LFM. Although conventional diffusion models have achieved remarkable success in generative modeling, their slow sampling process and the inherent trade-off between quality and efficiency hinder their application in real-time 3D imaging. We redesign the diffusion process through a deterministic three-step sampling strategy coupled with a lightweight conditional U-Net, establishing a new paradigm for fast and accurate volumetric reconstruction. Furthermore, an Inter-Class Detection (ICD) module is incorporated to identify out-of-distribution or anomalous inputs during inference, thereby enhancing model stability and reliability. Extensive experiments and cross-dataset evaluations demonstrate that TCD significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both reconstruction fidelity and generalization, providing an efficient and practical 3D reconstruction solution for light-field microscopy.
Accurate intrinsic calibration is a crucial yet challenging prerequisite for 3D reconstruction using light field cameras. Existing calibration models typically analyze the main lens and micro lens array (MLA) in a coupled manner, resulting in high complexity and a large number of parameters. In this paper, we propose a linear fractional transformation (LFT) model that introduces a single parameter α to decouple the imaging processes of the main lens and the MLA. A dedicated matrix Hα is designed to characterize the MLA projection, enabling the main lens and the MLA to be calibrated independently. The proposed calibration method consists of an analytical least-squares solution for Hα, followed by joint nonlinear refinement of all intrinsic parameters. Experimental results on both physical datasets and simulated data demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a mean translation error of 2.1%, outperforming the state-of-the-art, while maintaining sub-pixel reprojection accuracy. The complete codebase, including a light field simulator based on the proposed model, is openly available to the research community.
Light field (LF) image denoising is challenging due to the high-dimensional structure of LF data. While noise is independent across sub-aperture images, scene content exhibits strong cross-view correlations. We introduce VSANet, a view-aware sparse attention network for LF denoising. Specifically, we propose a view-aware sparse attention (VSA) block that represents the 4D LF feature map as a unified spatial-angular token space and performs cross-view aggregation via locality-sensitive hashing-based sparse attention. This enables global feature interactions with linear complexity, effectively exploiting LF correlations across views and spatial locations. In addition, we design a feature refinement (FR) block to emphasize informative features in spatial, angular, and epipolar subspaces. The VSA and FR blocks are integrated within a sequential attention refinement module, forming the core of VSANet. Experiments demonstrate VSANet outperforms stateof-the-art LF denoising methods.
