GAE: Learning a Geometry-Native Latent Space for 3D-Consistent World Generation

Abstract

We present a compact geometry-native latent space as a shared foundation for perception and generation. Visual generators can produce photorealistic frames without preserving a consistent 3D scene. We argue that this is not only a modeling problem but also a representation problem: generators typically evolve appearance-centric latents, while perception models recover geometry in a semantically rich space that encodes cross-view structure. Rather than adding geometry as another output, we reparameterize a geometry foundation model's features into a compact latent space for generation. We realize this shift with the geometry-native autoencoder (GAE), whose latent is jointly decodable to appearance, depth, cameras, and point maps. With this state, a standard conditional flow supports diverse generation tasks. In controlled comparisons that hold the generator and training protocol fixed, replacing the latent with GAE improves both visual quality and independently measured 3D coherence: FVD falls by 12.7%12.7\% and 23.1%23.1\% on RealEstate10K and DL3DV, and camera-trajectory error is halved on RealEstate10K. Together, these results show that the latent space is central to geometry-consistent generation and can serve as a shared interface between perception and generation.

GeoWorld: Providing Full-frame Geometry Features to Facilitate 3D Scene Generation

Previous works that leverage video models for image-to-3D scene generation often suffer from geometric distortions and blurry content. Using video generation models to implicitly maintain geometric consistency according to a single-frame input is ineffective. In this paper, we present a two-stage method, named GeoWorld\textbf{GeoWorld}, that renovates the image-to-3D scene generation pipeline by providing full-frame geometry features. The first-stage video generation model, followed by a multi-view geometry model, produces full-frame\textbf{full-frame} geometry features, which are then used as a mental draft of geometric conditions to aid the second-stage video-generation model. A geometric loss is proposed to impose real-world geometric constraints, and a geometry adaptation module is introduced to ensure the effective utilization of geometry features. Thanks to full-frame geometric modeling, the two smaller video models in our two-stage method can generate higher-fidelity 3D scenes than SOTA methods, while being even faster, e.g. 7.5×\times faster than Hunyuan-Voyager. GTA: Advancing Image-to-3D World Generation via Geometry Then Appearance Video Diffusion

Recent developments in generative models and large-scale datasets have substantially advanced 3D world generation, facilitating a broad range of domains including spatial intelligence, embodied intelligence, and autonomous driving. While achieving remarkable progress, existing approaches to 3D world generation typically prioritize appearance prediction with limited modeling of the underlying geometry, leading to issues such as unreliable scene structure estimation and degraded cross-view consistency. To address these limitations, motivated by the coarse-to-fine nature of human visual perception, we propose GTA, a novel image-to-3D world generation method following a Geometry-Then-Appearance paradigm. Specifically, given a single input image, to improve the structural fidelity of synthesized 3D scenes, GTA adopts a two-stage framework with two dedicated video diffusion models, which first generate coarse geometric structure from novel viewpoints and then synthesize fine-grained appearance conditioned on the predicted geometry. To further enhance cross-view appearance consistency, we introduce a random latent shuffle strategy during the training process, along with a test-time scaling scheme that improves perceptual quality without compromising quantitative performance. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that our proposed method consistently outperforms existing approaches in terms of fidelity, visual quality, and geometric accuracy. Moreover, GTA is shown to be effective as a general enhancement module that further improves the generation quality of existing image-to-3D world pipelines, as well as supporting multiple downstream applications and exhibiting favorable data efficiency during model training, highlighting its versatility and broad applicability. Latent Riemannian Flow Matching for Geometry-Grounded 3D Foundation Models

Geometric foundation models, such as the Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT), provide strong 3D priors from unposed images. However, such models operate purely in a feed-forward, deterministic regime, \ie~they cannot generate plausible geometry beyond what the input views directly support. Generative models for 3D scenes, on the other hand, must rely on strong geometric priors to produce coherent outputs from sparse inputs. We bridge these two paradigms by performing flow matching directly in VGGT's latent space, leveraging its learned 3D priors without committing to any explicit downstream representation such as Gaussians, meshes, or video-VAE latents. This requires respecting the latent geometry: VGGT tokens occupy a product of high-dimensional hyperspheres on which standard Euclidean flow matching fails. We address this with a Riemannian Flow Matching framework defined on a product manifold of four hyperspheres, aligned with VGGT's multi-scale encoder, which keeps generated tokens on the valid data manifold required by the frozen decoding heads. On RealEstate10K, ScanNet++ and ETH3D, our method achieves strong performance against recent scene generation baselines in both per-view appearance and aggregated 3D geometry, establishing latent-space flow matching on geometric foundation models as a viable paradigm for 3D generation.
