CogenPVG: Cognitive-Enhanced Reflective Multi-Agent Framework for Persuasive Video Generation

Authors: Yuntian XiaoShoulong ZhangWenfeng SongYan WangYi ChenShuai Li

Abstract

Persuasive video generation (PVG) is a valuable yet under-explored research topic. Despite the significant advances in multimodal content generation, AI-empowered automated creation of human-made-like videos with substantial persuasiveness remains a formidable challenge. In this paper, we propose CogenPVG, a novel Cognitive-Enhanced reflective multi-agent framework tailored for Persuasive Video Generation task. Given the topic and stance from the user, we decouple the sophisticated generation process into four sequential stages: argument reasoning, storyboard planning, asset creation, and post-editing, imitating the workflow of human video producers. To ensure high persuasiveness, each stage is equipped with a pair of generator and critic agents, following a reflective refinement scheme grounded in a solid psychological theory of persuasion, the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM). In the argument reasoning stage, we generate highly logical and credible reasoning thoughts under the guidance of critical thinking theory, enabling cognitive enhancement via the central route of the ELM. For the other three stages, we generate and optimize multimodal assets, assembling them into a persuasive video guided by theories of heuristics, as the peripheral route of the ELM. To the best of our knowledge, CogenPVG is the first work focused on general persuasive topics, without being confined to commercial purposes. Extensive experiments and comprehensive analysis demonstrate that our framework achieves the best persuasion performance, thereby proving the effectiveness of our proposed multi-agent framework for the PVG task.

MA2^{2}P: A Meta-Cognitive Autonomous Intelligent Agents Framework for Complex Persuasion

Persuasive dialogue generation plays a vital role in decision-making, negotiation, counseling, and behavior change, yet it remains a challenging problem. In complex persuasion where the persuadee's internal states are not expressed clearly, the persuader must interpret responses, infer the persuadee's latent mental states (e.g., beliefs and desires), and translate them into targeted, strategy-consistent actions; however, current approaches often produce generic or weakly grounded responses even when such cues are identified. Moreover, although large language models (LLMs) can generate persuasive content, their performance varies substantially across domains due to uneven knowledge coverage and limited reasoning generalization. To address these challenges, we propose MA2^{2}P, a meta-cognitive autonomous intelligent agent framework for complex persuasion. Specifically, we develop an autonomous multi-agent architecture that coordinates perception management, mental-state inference, strategy execution, memory maintenance, and performance evaluation. To mitigate cross-domain performance variation, we further design a meta-cognitive configurator that selects an appropriate meta-strategy from a structured knowledge base at the outset, thereby guiding subsequent reasoning and planning. Experimental results show that our approach achieves a higher persuasion success rate than baselines.

AgenticGen: Reward-Guided Agentic Video Generation for Advertising

Advertising video generation is not only a video synthesis task, but also a product-conditioned reasoning problem whose success is measured by online business metrics. Recent video foundation models can generate realistic clips from multimodal conditions, yet they do not optimize how a product should be transformed into an effective advertisement or how future generation should be improved from online business feedback. To close this loop, we propose AgenticGen, a reward-guided agentic framework that decomposes advertising video generation into two trainable reasoning stages, strategy selection and draft generation, thereby exposing optimization targets that online business feedback can supervise. AgenticGen learns a performance-based reward from accumulated online feedback and a complementary rubric-based reward aligned with human quality standards, then uses them to supervise policy optimization. DPO first moves the agentic policies toward online preferences, and GRPO further refines both stages with process and outcome rewards. Offline experiments validate the reward models and successive policy optimization. Online A/B experiments in the TikTok advertising system show that AgenticGen after DPO and GRPO improves CTR by 2.72%, CVR by 2.63%, and Advv by 9.61% over the SFT baseline.

From Evaluation to Enhancement: Benchmarking and Improving Think-with-Video Reasoning for Video Generative Models

Video generation has advanced to produce visually compelling and temporally coherent results. Yet, whether these models can genuinely think with video--executing symbolic rules, respecting physical laws, and pursuing intentional goals--remains an open question. Existing benchmarks only partially address this, often conflating visual quality with cognitive correctness. We introduce VWG-Bench (Video World Generalist Benchmark), a comprehensive benchmark spanning 9 reasoning dimensions and 38 fine-grained tasks. To enable precise diagnosis, we design a three-level VLM-as-Judge protocol that independently assesses video-level fluency, task-level rule adherence, and sample-level goal realization. Evaluations of leading models reveal a striking gap: while models achieve strong rendering scores, they consistently fail on logic-heavy and rule-constrained tasks. To address this, we propose Vid-PRE (Video Prompt Reasoner and Enhancer), a model-agnostic prompt rewriter that offloads the cognitive burden of reasoning to a dedicated VLM. Trained via reinforcement learning with purely text-based rewards, Vid-PRE produces concise, constraint-aware prompts without the instability of video-level reward signals. Experiments show that Vid-PRE yields substantial reasoning improvements across multiple generators without architectural modifications. Together, VWG-Bench and Vid-PRE offer a rigorous diagnostic lens and a scalable path toward true think-with-video capabilities.
