Acoustic Side Channel
Acoustic side-channel attacks exploit unintended sound emissions from devices to reveal sensitive information, focusing on recovering data from seemingly innocuous acoustic signals. Current research investigates vulnerabilities in diverse technologies, including pressure sensors, keyboards, and even smartphone cameras, employing machine learning models—particularly deep learning—and signal processing techniques to extract and interpret these subtle acoustic leaks. This field is significant due to its implications for privacy and security, highlighting the need for robust countermeasures and informing the design of more secure devices and systems.
