Biological Neuron
Biological neurons are the fundamental units of the brain, and understanding their function is crucial for advancing both neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Current research focuses on modeling diverse neuronal properties, including temporal dynamics, dendritic processing, and varying morphologies, using computational models like spiking neural networks and liquid-resistance liquid-capacitance networks, and comparing their efficiency to deep reinforcement learning algorithms. These efforts aim to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and biological plausibility of artificial neural networks, potentially leading to more energy-efficient and robust AI systems and a deeper understanding of brain computation.
