Conspiracy Theory
Conspiracy theory research focuses on understanding and detecting the spread of false narratives online, differentiating them from legitimate criticism. Current efforts utilize natural language processing techniques, employing large language models like BERT and GPT, along with graph-based methods analyzing event relationships within texts, to classify and identify conspiratorial content across various platforms. This work is crucial for mitigating the harmful effects of misinformation, informing strategies for combating disinformation campaigns, and advancing our understanding of how narratives shape beliefs and behaviors.
