Gender Neutral Pronoun
Research on gender-neutral pronouns focuses on mitigating bias in natural language processing (NLP) systems, aiming to improve their ability to accurately process and generate text inclusive of non-binary individuals. Current research investigates how machine translation and coreference resolution systems handle gender-neutral pronouns, employing techniques like counterfactual data augmentation to debias models and developing new evaluation metrics to assess performance. This work is crucial for creating more equitable and inclusive language technologies, impacting areas like machine translation, chatbot development, and broader NLP applications.
