Human Robot Trust
Human-robot trust research investigates how humans develop and maintain trust in robots, aiming to understand the factors influencing this crucial aspect of human-robot interaction (HRI). Current research focuses on developing multi-dimensional trust models, incorporating elements like performance reliability and ethical considerations, and exploring how robot design, communication strategies (verbal and nonverbal), and interface modalities affect trust levels. This work is significant because trust is essential for effective collaboration between humans and robots in various applications, from healthcare and manufacturing to search and rescue, and improved understanding will lead to safer and more efficient human-robot teams.
