Online Social Medium
Online social media research focuses on understanding and predicting user behavior, information diffusion, and the spread of misinformation. Current studies employ diverse machine learning techniques, including deep learning models like LSTMs and GPT-like architectures, along with agent-based modeling and generative adversarial networks (GANs), to analyze large datasets from platforms like Twitter and Reddit. This research is crucial for developing effective strategies to combat misinformation, improve recommendation systems, and address societal challenges such as the detection of suicidal ideation and hate speech, ultimately aiming to enhance the safety and utility of online social platforms.
