Parametric Head Model

Parametric head models aim to create realistic, digitally rendered human heads that can be manipulated and animated efficiently. Current research focuses on developing models that leverage neural networks, particularly those based on Gaussian splatting, neural radiance fields (NeRFs), and diffusion models, to achieve high-fidelity rendering and control over facial expressions, hairstyles, and even anatomical details. These advancements are driving progress in fields like virtual reality, film production, and medical applications, enabling more realistic and interactive digital humans and facilitating detailed anatomical studies. The ability to generate high-quality, real-time animations from various input modalities (e.g., audio, single images, depth maps) is a key area of ongoing development.
