Robotic Quality Inspection
Robotic quality inspection aims to automate the process of assessing product quality and identifying defects, improving efficiency and accuracy compared to manual methods. Current research focuses on developing autonomous systems using diverse sensing modalities (visual, tactile, acoustic), advanced path planning algorithms (like RRT*), and machine learning techniques (including deep reinforcement learning) for tasks ranging from inspecting large-scale components to monitoring infrastructure. These advancements are impacting various industries, from aerospace manufacturing and civil engineering to space exploration, by enabling faster, more reliable, and potentially safer inspection processes.
