Geometry-Conditioned Diffusion for Occlusion-Robust In-Bed Pose Estimation

Robust in-bed human pose estimation under blanket occlusion remains challenging due to the scarcity of reliable labeled training data for heavily covered poses. Existing approaches rely on multi-modal sensing or image-to-image translation frameworks that remain conditioned on visible source imagery, limiting scalability and pose diversity. In this work, we reformulate occlusion-aware augmentation as a geometry-conditioned generative modeling task. We conduct a systematic comparison of deterministic masking, unpaired translation, paired diffusion-based translation, and a proposed pose-conditioned Latent Diffusion Model (Pose-LDM). Unlike image-guided methods, Pose-LDM synthesizes blanket-covered images directly from skeletal keypoints, eliminating dependence on paired supervision and pixel-level source-image conditioning while enabling generation from arbitrary pose inputs. All augmentation strategies are evaluated through their impact on downstream pose estimation under a fixed backbone. Pose- LDM achieves the highest strict localization accuracy under severe occlusion while maintaining overall detection performance comparable to paired diffusion models, approaching the performance of fully supervised training. These results demonstrate that geometry-conditioned diffusion provides an effective and supervision-efficient pathway toward occlusion-robust inbed pose estimation without modifying the sensing pipeline. MMCORE: MultiModal COnnection with Representation Aligned Latent Embeddings

We present MMCORE, a unified framework designed for multimodal image generation and editing. MMCORE leverages a pre-trained Vision-Language Model (VLM) to predict semantic visual embeddings via learnable query tokens, which subsequently serve as conditioning signals for a diffusion model. This streamlined design effectively transfers the rich understanding and reasoning capabilities of VLMs into the visual generation process. By obviating the need for deep fusion between autoregressive and diffusion models or training from scratch, MMCORE significantly reduces computational overhead while maintaining high-fidelity synthesis. MMCORE seamlessly integrates text-to-image synthesis with interleaved image generation, demonstrating robust multimodal comprehension in complex scenarios such as spatial reasoning and visual grounding. Comprehensive evaluations indicate that MMCORE consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines across a broad spectrum of text-to-image and single/multi-image editing benchmarks.

Tstars-Tryon 1.0: Robust and Realistic Virtual Try-On for Diverse Fashion Items

Recent advances in image generation and editing have opened new opportunities for virtual try-on. However, existing methods still struggle to meet complex real-world demands. We present Tstars-Tryon 1.0, a commercial-scale virtual try-on system that is robust, realistic, versatile, and highly efficient. First, our system maintains a high success rate across challenging cases like extreme poses, severe illumination variations, motion blur, and other in-the-wild conditions. Second, it delivers highly photorealistic results with fine-grained details, faithfully preserving garment texture, material properties, and structural characteristics, while largely avoiding common AI-generated artifacts. Third, beyond apparel try-on, our model supports flexible multi-image composition (up to 6 reference images) across 8 fashion categories, with coordinated control over person identity and background. Fourth, to overcome the latency bottlenecks of commercial deployment, our system is heavily optimized for inference speed, delivering near real-time generation for a seamless user experience. These capabilities are enabled by an integrated system design spanning end-to-end model architecture, a scalable data engine, robust infrastructure, and a multi-stage training paradigm. Extensive evaluation and large-scale product deployment demonstrate that Tstars-Tryon1.0 achieves leading overall performance. To support future research, we also release a comprehensive benchmark. The model has been deployed at an industrial scale on the Taobao App, serving millions of users with tens of millions of requests.

ReCap: Lightweight Referential Grounding for Coherent Story Visualization

Story Visualization aims to generate a sequence of images that faithfully depicts a textual narrative that preserve character identity, spatial configuration, and stylistic coherence as the narratives unfold. Maintaining such cross-frame consistency has traditionally relied on explicit memory banks, architectural expansion, or auxiliary language models, resulting in substantial parameter growth and inference overhead. We introduce ReCap, a lightweight consistency framework that improves character stability and visual fidelity without modifying the base diffusion backbone. ReCap's CORE (COnditional frame REferencing) module treats anaphors, in our case pronouns, as visual anchors, activating only when characters are referred to by a pronoun and conditioning on the preceding frame to propagate visual identity. This selective design avoids unconditional cross-frame conditioning and introduces only 149K additional parameters, a fraction of the cost of memory-bank and LLM-augmented approaches. To further stabilize identity, we incorporate SemDrift (Guided Semantic Drift Correction) applied only during training. When text is vague or referential, the denoiser lacks a visual anchor for identity-defining attributes, causing character appearance to drift across frames, SemDrift corrects this by aligning denoiser representations with pretrained DINOv3 visual embeddings, enforcing semantic identity stability at zero inference cost. ReCap outperforms previous state-of-the-art, StoryGPT-V, on the two main benchmarks for story visualization by 2.63% Character-Accuracy on FlintstonesSV and by 5.65% on PororoSV, establishing a new state-of-the-art character consistency on both benchmarks. Furthermore, we extend story visualization to human-centric narratives derived from real films, demonstrating the capability of ReCap beyond stylized cartoon domains.

Extending One-Step Image Generation from Class Labels to Text via Discriminative Text Representation

Few-step generation has been a long-standing goal, with recent one-step generation methods exemplified by MeanFlow achieving remarkable results. Existing research on MeanFlow primarily focuses on class-to-image generation. However, an intuitive yet unexplored direction is to extend the condition from fixed class labels to flexible text inputs, enabling richer content creation. Compared to the limited class labels, text conditions pose greater challenges to the model's understanding capability, necessitating the effective integration of powerful text encoders into the MeanFlow framework. Surprisingly, although incorporating text conditions appears straightforward, we find that integrating powerful LLM-based text encoders using conventional training strategies results in unsatisfactory performance. To uncover the underlying cause, we conduct detailed analyses and reveal that, due to the extremely limited number of refinement steps in the MeanFlow generation, such as only one step, the text feature representations are required to possess sufficiently high discriminability. This also explains why discrete and easily distinguishable class features perform well within the MeanFlow framework. Guided by these insights, we leverage a powerful LLM-based text encoder validated to possess the required semantic properties and adapt the MeanFlow generation process to this framework, resulting in efficient text-conditioned synthesis for the first time. Furthermore, we validate our approach on the widely used diffusion model, demonstrating significant generation performance improvements. We hope this work provides a general and practical reference for future research on text-conditioned MeanFlow generation. The code is available at https://github.com/AMAP-ML/EMF.

Frequency-Aware Flow Matching for High-Quality Image Generation

Flow matching models have emerged as a powerful framework for realistic image generation by learning to reverse a corruption process that progressively adds Gaussian noise. However, because noise is injected in the latent domain, its impact on different frequency components is non-uniform. As a result, during inference, flow matching models tend to generate low-frequency components (global structure) in the early stages, while high-frequency components (fine details) emerge only later in the reverse process. Building on this insight, we propose Frequency-Aware Flow Matching (FreqFlow), a novel approach that explicitly incorporates frequency-aware conditioning into the flow matching framework via time-dependent adaptive weighting. We introduce a two-branch architecture: (1) a frequency branch that separately processes low- and high-frequency components to capture global structure and refine textures and edges, and (2) a spatial branch that synthesizes images in the latent domain, guided by the frequency branch's output. By explicitly integrating frequency information into the generation process, FreqFlow ensures that both large-scale coherence and fine-grained details are effectively modeled low-frequency conditioning reinforces global structure, while high-frequency conditioning enhances texture fidelity and detail sharpness. On the class-conditional ImageNet-256 generation benchmark, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance with an FID of 1.38, surpassing the prior diffusion model DiT and flow matching model SiT by 0.79 and 0.58 FID, respectively. FAIL: Flow Matching Adversarial Imitation Learning for Image Generation

Post-training of flow matching models-aligning the output distribution with a high-quality target-is mathematically equivalent to imitation learning. While Supervised Fine-Tuning mimics expert demonstrations effectively, it cannot correct policy drift in unseen states. Preference optimization methods address this but require costly preference pairs or reward modeling. We propose Flow Matching Adversarial Imitation Learning (FAIL), which minimizes policy-expert divergence through adversarial training without explicit rewards or pairwise comparisons. We derive two algorithms: FAIL-PD exploits differentiable ODE solvers for low-variance pathwise gradients, while FAIL-PG provides a black-box alternative for discrete or computationally constrained settings. Fine-tuning FLUX with only 13,000 demonstrations from Nano Banana pro, FAIL achieves competitive performance on prompt following and aesthetic benchmarks. Furthermore, the framework generalizes effectively to discrete image and video generation, and functions as a robust regularizer to mitigate reward hacking in reward-based optimization. Code and data are available at https://github.com/HansPolo113/FAIL.

REPA-G: Test-Time Conditioning with Representation-Aligned Visual Features

While representation alignment with self-supervised models has been shown to improve diffusion model training, its potential for enhancing inference-time conditioning remains largely unexplored. We introduce Representation-Aligned Guidance (REPA-G), a framework that leverages these aligned representations, with rich semantic properties, to enable test-time conditioning from features, in generation. By optimizing a similarity objective (the potential) at inference, we steer the denoising process toward a conditioned representation extracted from a pre-trained feature extractor. Our method provides versatile control at multiple levels of granularity, ranging from patch level matching via single patches to broad semantic guidance using global image feature tokens. We further extend this to multi-concept composition, allowing for the faithful combination of distinct concepts. REPA-G operates entirely at inference time with no additional training required, offering a flexible and precise alternative to often ambiguous text prompts or coarse class labels. Our approach achieves high-quality, diverse generations on ImageNet and COCO. Code is available at https://github.com/valeoai/REPA-G

Happy Young Women, Grumpy Old Men? Emotion-Driven Demographic Biases in Synthetic Face Generation

Synthetic faces from text-to-image (T2I) models pervade digital media, yet their demographic biases under emotionally conditioned prompts remain poorly understood. We aim to systematically audit how emotionally conditioned prompts affect demographic and perceived-attractiveness biases in synthetic faces generated by T2I models, with particular attention to intersectional patterns and cross-ecosystem differences across model families. We audited eight (4 Western and 4 Chinese) T2I models and generated 56,000 faces under seven prompt conditions: a neutral baseline and six emotion conditions. We quantified biases in gender, race, age, and perceived attractiveness using information-theoretic divergence metrics. We further conducted intersectional analyses across combined demographic attributes and compared patterns between the Western and Chinese model groups to assess cross-ecosystem consistency and divergence in bias behavior. All models show strong overrepresentation of young faces, and most also overrepresent White-coded individuals. Intersectional analysis reveals compound underrepresentation or near-erasure of specific demographic combinations, such as young x female x Black faces, which are largely absent across models and are not captured by single-attribute audits. Emotion prompts act as additional demographic selectors: negatively valenced emotions (including sadness and fear) consistently shift outputs toward White, middle-aged, male-coded faces. This produces a valence-driven mapping that is also associated with lower perceived attractiveness in generated faces. These findings indicate that demographic bias in T2I face generation is both pervasive and shaped by emotional conditioning. They underscore the need for intersectional, emotion-conditioned, and multilingual demographic audits as part of standard pre-deployment evaluation practices.

FitControler: Toward Fit-Aware Virtual Try-On

Realistic virtual try-on (VTON) concerns not only faithful rendering of garment details but also coordination of the style. Prior art typically pursues the former, but neglects a key factor that shapes the holistic style -- garment fit. Garment fit delineates how a garment aligns with the body of a wearer and is a fundamental element in fashion design. In this work, we introduce fit-aware VTON and present FitControler, a learnable plug-in that can seamlessly integrate into modern VTON models to enable customized fit control. To achieve this, we highlight two challenges: i) how to delineate layouts of different fits and ii) how to render the garment that matches the layout. FitControler first features a fit-aware layout generator to redraw the body-garment layout conditioned on a set of delicately processed garment-agnostic representations, and a multi-scale fit injector is then used to deliver layout cues to enable layout-driven VTON. In particular, we build a fit-aware VTON dataset termed Fit4Men, including 13,000 body-garment pairs of different fits, covering both tops and bottoms, and featuring varying camera distances and body poses. Two fit consistency metrics are also introduced to assess the fitness of generations. Extensive experiments show that FitControler can work with various VTON models and achieve accurate fit control. Code and data will be released.

Embedding Physical Reasoning into Diffusion-Based Shadow Generation Under the Sun and Sky

Generating realistic cast shadows for inserted foreground objects requires reasoning about scene geometry and illumination. However, most learning-based approaches treat shadow generation as an image translation problem and capture these physical relationships only implicitly. This often results in misaligned or implausible shadows. Motivated by the physics of shadow formation, we introduce explicit geometric guidance for outdoor shadow generation. Given a composite image and a foreground object mask, we recover approximate scene geometry and estimate a dominant light direction to derive a coarse shadow estimate via geometric reasoning. While coarse, this estimate provides a spatial anchor for shadow placement. Because illumination cannot always be uniquely inferred from a single image, we predict confidence scores for both lighting and shadow cues and use them to regulate their influence during generation. These cues (shadow mask, light direction, and their confidence scores) condition a diffusion-based generator that refines the estimate into a realistic shadow. Experiments on DESOBAV2 show substantially improved shadow-region fidelity and localization, with an overall 23% lower shadow-region RMSE and 30% lower shadow-mask BER than the prior state-of-the-art method.

Hi-DREAM: Brain-Inspired Hierarchical Diffusion for fMRI-to-Image Reconstruction via ROI Encoder and VisuAl Mapping

Reconstructing natural images from fMRI requires bridging neural activity with both the structural and semantic representations used by modern generative models. Existing diffusion-based decoders often condition on a single global fMRI embedding, which limits their ability to exploit the hierarchical organization of the visual cortex and makes the contribution of different visual areas difficult to inspect. We propose Hi-DREAM, a brain-inspired hierarchical diffusion framework that structures fMRI conditioning according to early, middle, and late visual Regions of Interest (ROI) streams. A ROI adapter converts these streams into a multi-scale cortical pyramid, and a lightweight ROI-conditioned ControlNet injects the resulting anatomy-aware priors into matched U-Net depths during denoising. Experiments on the Natural Scenes Dataset (NSD) show that Hi-DREAM achieves state-of-the-art high-level semantic reconstruction while retaining strong low-level structure. Further ablation and attribution analyses show that the proposed hierarchy-aware conditioning is effective, and that different ROI streams provide complementary, inspectable contributions to reconstruction.

PCP-GAN: Property-Constrained Pore-scale image reconstruction via conditional Generative Adversarial Networks

Obtaining truly representative pore-scale images that match bulk formation properties remains a fundamental challenge in subsurface characterization, as natural spatial heterogeneity causes extracted sub-images to deviate significantly from core-measured values. This challenge is compounded by data scarcity, where physical samples are only available at sparse well locations. This study presents a multi-conditional Generative Adversarial Network (cGAN) framework that generates representative pore-scale images with precisely controlled properties. The framework was trained on thin section samples from four depths (1879.50-1943.50 m) of a carbonate formation, simultaneously conditioning on porosity and depth within a single model. It processes RGB thin section images that preserve critical mineralogical information (anhydrite-dolomite differentiation, grain boundaries, porosity distinctions) lost in conventional grayscale representations, capturing characteristics from grainstone fabrics to crystalline textures with anhydrite inclusions. The model achieved strong porosity control (R^2 = 0.95) across all formations with mean absolute errors of 0.0099-0.0197. Morphological validation confirmed preservation of average pore radius, specific surface area, and tortuosity within acceptable tolerances. Two-point correlation (S2) analysis confirmed that generated images preserve the spatial continuity and characteristic length scales of natural pore networks, with results consistent across the imaging resolutions tested (1.8-3.0 micron/pixel). Validated against core sample properties, generated images showed higher property fidelity with dual-constraint errors of 1.9-12.4% compared to 37.5-713.6% for randomly extracted real sub-images. This capability provides practical tools for subsurface characterization, particularly valuable for carbon storage, geothermal energy, and groundwater management.

Rethinking Visual Autoregressive Sampling with Information-Grounding Guidance

Autoregressive (AR) models based on next-scale prediction have emerged as a powerful tool for image generation, but they face a critical weakness: information inconsistencies between patches across timesteps introduced by progressive resolution scaling. These inconsistencies scatter guidance signals, causing them to drift away from salient regions within the image and leaving behind ambiguous, unfaithful features during sampling. We tackle this challenge with Information-Grounding Guidance (IGG), a novel framework that anchors guidance to semantically important tokens via an attention-based dynamic weighting formulation, consequently ensuring that guidance and semantic contents remain tightly aligned. Across both class-conditioned and text-to-image generation tasks, IGG delivers sharper, more coherent, and semantically grounded images, demonstrating its efficacy for correcting AR-based methods. Our code is available at https://github.com/dnngky/infoground-guidance.

Layout-Conditioned Autoregressive Text-to-Image Generation via Structured Masking

Although autoregressive (AR) models have demonstrated remarkable success in image generation, extending these models to layout-conditioned generation remains challenging due to the sparse nature of layout conditions and the risk of feature entanglement. We present \textbf{S}tructured \textbf{M}asking for \textbf{AR}-based \textbf{L}ayout-to-\textbf{I}mage (SMARLI), a novel framework that effectively integrates spatial layout constraints into the AR generation process. To equip AR models with layout control, a structured masking strategy is applied to the attention computation to govern the interaction among the global prompt, layout, and image tokens. This design prevents the misassociation of different regions with their corresponding descriptions while enabling the sufficient injection of layout constraints into the generation process. To alleviate the exposure bias of AR models and further enhance generation quality and layout accuracy, we incorporate a Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) post-training scheme. We adapt it to the next-set-based paradigm and introduce a specifically designed layout reward, which is coordinated with an image quality reward to guide policy optimization in a balanced manner. Experimental results demonstrate that SMARLI seamlessly integrates layout tokens with text and image tokens without compromising generation quality, and the proposed masking strategy and post-training scheme can also be transferred to standard next-token-based AR models. The proposed framework achieves superior layout control while maintaining the structural simplicity and generation efficiency of AR models.

Contrastive Conditional-Unconditional Alignment for Long-tailed Diffusion Model

Training data for class-conditional image synthesis often exhibit a long-tailed distribution with limited amount of images for tail classes. Such an imbalance causes mode collapse and reduces the diversity of synthesized images for tail classes. For class-conditional diffusion models trained with imbalanced data, we aim to improve the diversity and fidelity of tail class images without compromising the quality of head class images. We propose contrastive conditional-unconditional alignment (CCUA), which comprises two synergistic loss functions. Our first loss is an Alignment Loss (AL) that aligns class-conditional generation with unconditional generation at large timesteps. Alignment loss makes the denoising process insensitive to class conditions for the initial steps, which enriches tail classes through knowledge sharing from head classes. Secondly, we diversify unconditional generation via an Unsupervised Contrastive Loss (UCL) to increase the distance/dissimilarity among synthetic images. We combine the two losses to implicitly diversify conditional generation. Our framework is easy to implement as demonstrated on both U-Net based architecture and Diffusion Transformer. Our method outperforms vanilla denoising diffusion probabilistic models, score-based diffusion model, and alternative contrastive methods for class-imbalanced image generation across various datasets, in particular ImageNet-LT with 256×\times256 resolution.

TF-TI2I: Training-Free Text-and-Image-to-Image Generation via Multi-Modal Implicit-Context Learning in Text-to-Image Models

Text-and-Image-To-Image (TI2I), an extension of Text-To-Image (T2I), integrates image inputs with textual instructions to enhance image generation. Existing methods often partially utilize image inputs, focusing on specific elements like objects or styles, or they experience a decline in generation quality with complex, multi-image instructions. To overcome these challenges, we introduce Training-Free Text-and-Image-to-Image (TF-TI2I), which adapts cutting-edge T2I models such as SD3 without the need for additional training. Our method capitalizes on the MM-DiT architecture, in which we point out that textual tokens can implicitly learn visual information from vision tokens. We enhance this interaction by extracting a condensed visual representation from reference images, facilitating selective information sharing through Reference Contextual Masking -- this technique confines the usage of contextual tokens to instruction-relevant visual information. Additionally, our Winner-Takes-All module mitigates distribution shifts by prioritizing the most pertinent references for each vision token. Addressing the gap in TI2I evaluation, we also introduce the FG-TI2I Bench, a comprehensive benchmark tailored for TI2I and compatible with existing T2I methods. Our approach shows robust performance across various benchmarks, confirming its effectiveness in handling complex image-generation tasks.

Generated Contents Enrichment

We study Generated Contents Enrichment (GCE), a conditional image-generation task in which a sparse scene description is first enriched through an explicit scene representation and then rendered into semantically richer visual content. Conventional image-generation systems can produce visually realistic outputs from limited scene descriptions, but the added content is usually implicit in the generator rather than represented as an inspectable intermediate structure. In contrast, GCE seeks to make scene enrichment explicit at the scene-representation level while examining its visual consequences during generation, with the goal of encouraging generated content that is visually plausible, structurally coherent, and semantically richer than the sparse input. To instantiate GCE, we propose a jointly trained adversarial framework that enriches scene graphs by modeling object semantics and inter-object relations. Our approach first represents the input description as a scene graph, where nodes model objects and edges capture inter-object relations. The framework uses graph convolutional networks to predict additional objects and their relations to the existing scene. Finally, the enriched scene graph is passed through the downstream image-generation pipeline to generate the corresponding visual content. We evaluate the framework with proxy scene graph enrichment metrics, image-quality comparisons, qualitative examples, and user studies on the Visual Genome dataset.
