Generating an egocentric video from a single exocentric recording is a challenging case of novel view synthesis, as the two cameras share little overlap and much of the target view is unobserved. Current state-of-the-art methods reconstruct the scene explicitly by estimating depth, lifting the video into a point cloud, and re-rendering it from the egocentric camera to condition a video diffusion model. This deterministic mapping assigns each pixel to a single reprojected location, which preserves texture but translates depth errors into misplaced content. We ask what a video diffusion model should receive as its condition and propose a lifting-free answer: a learned view synthesizer, an LVSM-style transformer fine-tuned to render the egocentric view directly without depth, point clouds, or reprojection, resolving cross-view correspondence internally. In contrast, its probabilistic mapping averages each region over candidate source locations according to a learned correspondence distribution, preserving structure while fine texture is averaged away. We argue that this trade-off suits a diffusion generator, whose denoising training excels at restoring detail, so an effective condition should prioritize structural alignment over sharpness. This distribution's concentration also yields a per-region confidence, used both to mask low-confidence regions and to guide the generator toward high-confidence areas during early layout-forming denoising steps. Our approach consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art explicit pipeline and generalizes to other datasets without retraining. The synthesizer thus supplies view structure, and the diffusion model its detail.
Exo2EgoHOI: Hand-Object-Interaction Aware Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Generation
Egocentric videos of human manipulation provide valuable visual experience for embodied intelligence, yet collecting such data at scale is costly. Exocentric-to-egocentric video generation offers a scalable alternative by transforming abundant third-person manipulation videos into first-person observations. However, existing methods often struggle to faithfully preserve demonstrated hand-object interactions (HOI) across large viewpoint changes due to insufficient fine-grained interaction guidance and weak object-centric anchoring. We present Exo2EgoHOI, an HOI-aware video generative framework for interaction-preserving exocentric-to-egocentric translation. To preserve fine-grained HOI, we introduce a unified 4D HOI prior that combines scene geometry, articulated hand renderings, and dense hand-object relation fields, together with a dual-branch residual adapter for injecting structural and relational cues into the video generation backbone. To preserve object consistency, we introduce Decomposed Gated Cross-Attention, which separately encodes object and background references and adaptively integrates global semantic and local appearance features as object-centric anchors. Experiments on ARCTIC-HOI and Ego-Exo4D demonstrate substantial improvements in object consistency and HOI preservation while maintaining competitive visual fidelity. In particular, on ARCTIC-HOI, Exo2EgoHOI improves object mIoU by 32.3% and reduces MPJPE and PA-MPJPE by 34.7% and 50.0%, respectively, relative to the respective best baseline results. Ego-Forge: Text and Geometric-Attention Free Exo-to-Egocentric Video Generation
Exo-to-egocentric video generation aims to synthesize what a person sees from their own viewpoint given third-person footage and a target head trajectory. The task requires transferring appearance and semantics across large viewpoint changes while hallucinating content never observed by the exocentric camera. Existing approaches either impose additional input requirements, such as a ground-truth initial egocentric frame or multiple synchronized exocentric views, or remain limited to category-specific settings. EgoX is the first to address cross-activity and in-the-wild generalization, but requires a human-provided caption of the non-existent egocentric view at inference and introduces a computationally expensive geometry-guided attention bias that can propagate reconstruction errors and suppress textual and visual context. We therefore propose Ego-Forge, a caption-free and bias-free framework for exo-to-egocentric generation. It introduces Dynamic Captioning, which derives conditioning tokens directly from the model's hidden states and adapts them to the diffusion timestep and network depth, replacing external text conditioning. By scaling training by an order of magnitude and using all available exocentric viewpoints, Ego-Forge learns cross-view correspondence implicitly and eliminates the need for geometry-guided attention, requiring only a lightweight depth prior. Ego-Forge achieves state-of-the-art performance on Ego-Exo4D, runs faster end-to-end, requires no external annotation at inference, and generalizes to in-the-wild scenes, including cases where over-reliance on geometry blocks appearance inference. Our model and source code will be made publicly available.
Grounded-Exo2Ego: Structured Semantic Grounding for Robust Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Generation
Generating egocentric video from a single exocentric video is an emerging and important topic for AR/VR and physical AI. Compared with conventional novel view synthesis, exo-to-ego generation is a significantly harder task because the standard geometric conditioning becomes highly unreliable under extreme view changes and large unobservable regions. We present Grounded-Exo2Ego, a principled framework that addresses these challenges at both the architectural and data levels. Architecturally, Grounded-Exo2Ego is a dual-branch video diffusion model that couples a geometric anchoring branch, which conditions the generation on the rendering of a 3D reconstruction, with a novel semantic grounding branch, which goes beyond the prevailing geometry-based approach and improves quality by synthesizing challenging regions based on object-level context. Additionally, we found that the overlooked issue of camera-reconstruction misalignment severely undermines exo-to-ego learning. We thus introduce a camera re-localization algorithm that resolves this issue and substantially improves quality across all metrics. We further develop a fully automated synthetic data engine that generates and renders rigged 3D characters in procedurally generated environments. Evaluation on the challenging EgoExo4D dataset shows that our method outperforms recent state-of-the-art approaches by large margins across all metrics. Detailed ablations validate improvements from each of our contributions at both the data and architectural level.
EgoInteract: Synthetic Egocentric Videos Generation for Interaction Understanding and Anticipation
Collecting large-scale egocentric video datasets with dense spatial and temporal annotations is costly, slow, and often constrained by environmental biases, privacy constraints, and limited coverage of interaction patterns. While synthetic data has shown strong potential in several vision domains, its use for egocentric perception remains relatively underexplored, especially for tasks requiring temporally coherent human-object interactions. In this work, we introduce EgoInteract, a controllable simulator for egocentric video generation designed to model fine-grained egocentric interactions and their temporal dynamics. The simulator enables precise control over camera, human body and hand motion, object manipulation, and scene composition across diverse environments. Building on this framework, we generate a synthetic egocentric video dataset with dense spatial and temporal annotations for temporal action segmentation, next-active object detection, interaction anticipation, and hand-object interaction detection. We evaluate models trained with simulated data on multiple real-world egocentric benchmarks spanning diverse environments, object categories, and interaction patterns. Results show consistent improvements over strong baselines across tasks and datasets, demonstrating the effectiveness and transferability of our simulation-based approach.
EgoExo-WM: Unlocking Exo Video for Ego World Models
Egocentric world models present a promising direction for enabling agents to predict and plan, but their performance is constrained by the limited availability of egocentric training data and its inherent partial observability of humans' physical actions. In contrast, exocentric video is abundant and reveals body poses well, but lacks direct alignment with an agent's action space -- and is not egocentric. We propose a method to bridge this gap by extracting structured body pose from exocentric video as a representation of action and transforming the exocentric video to egocentric video, informed by a human kinematics prior. This process unlocks the integration of in-the-wild exocentric data for egocentric world model training. We show that training whole-body action-conditioned egocentric world models with our converted data significantly improves both prediction quality and downstream planning performance, where we infer the sequence of body poses needed to achieve a visual goal state. Our approach paves the way to enlist arbitrary in-the-wild videos for building powerful egocentric world models, furthering applications in robot planning and augmented-reality guidance.
From Synchrony to Sequence: Exo-to-Ego Generation via Interpolation
Exo-to-Ego video generation aims to synthesize a first-person video from a synchronized third-person view and corresponding camera poses. While paired supervision is available, synchronized exo-ego data inherently introduces substantial spatio-temporal and geometric discontinuities, violating the smooth-motion assumptions of standard video generation benchmarks. We identify this synchronization-induced jump as the central challenge and propose Syn2Seq-Forcing, a sequential formulation that interpolates between the source and target videos to form a single continuous signal. By reframing Exo2Ego as sequential signal modeling rather than a conventional condition-output task, our approach enables diffusion-based sequence models, e.g. Diffusion Forcing Transformers (DFoT), to capture coherent transitions across frames more effectively. Empirically, we show that interpolating only the videos, without performing pose interpolation already produces significant improvements, emphasizing that the dominant difficulty arises from spatio-temporal discontinuities. Beyond immediate performance gains, this formulation establishes a general and flexible framework capable of unifying both Exo2Ego and Ego2Exo generation within a single continuous sequence model, providing a principled foundation for future research in cross-view video synthesis.
Exo2EgoSyn: Unlocking Foundation Video Generation Models for Exocentric-to-Egocentric Video Synthesis
Foundation video generation models such as WAN 2.2 exhibit strong text- and image-conditioned synthesis abilities but remain constrained to the same-view generation setting. In this work, we introduce Exo2EgoSyn, an adaptation of WAN 2.2 that unlocks Exocentric-to-Egocentric(Exo2Ego) cross-view video synthesis. Our framework consists of three key modules. Ego-Exo View Alignment(EgoExo-Align) enforces latent-space alignment between exocentric and egocentric first-frame representations, reorienting the generative space from the given exo view toward the ego view. Multi-view Exocentric Video Conditioning (MultiExoCon) aggregates multi-view exocentric videos into a unified conditioning signal, extending WAN2.2 beyond its vanilla single-image or text conditioning. Furthermore, Pose-Aware Latent Injection (PoseInj) injects relative exo-to-ego camera pose information into the latent state, guiding geometry-aware synthesis across viewpoints. Together, these modules enable high-fidelity ego view video generation from third-person observations without retraining from scratch. Experiments on ExoEgo4D validate that Exo2EgoSyn significantly improves Ego2Exo synthesis, paving the way for scalable cross-view video generation with foundation models. Source code and models will be released publicly.
