Overview

Parametric CAD modeling studies how to build and change 3D designs through ordered operations, dimensions, geometric constraints, and boundary representations (B-reps), so models remain editable and usable in engineering workflows. Methods include autoregressive and diffusion models for CAD programs, graph-based representations of geometry and design structure, and language-model agents that create or revise code using CAD-kernel execution and geometric feedback. Systems are evaluated on tasks such as generating designs from text or images, reconstructing programs from meshes or drawings, editing construction histories, and assembling parts, with measures of execution, geometric fidelity, constraint satisfaction, and engineering behavior. Although iterative tool use and richer datasets are improving results, models still struggle to preserve design intent, precise dimensions, topology, and editability, especially on complex or unfamiliar designs.

UVTran: Accurate Hole-Filling Parameterization with Transformers

In industrial design, N-sided hole filling is typically formulated as the construction of a single trimmed B-spline surface by minimizing a fairness energy subject to geometric boundary constraints. This formulation requires an accurate parameter-space representation of the trimming curve on the filling surface. Most existing methods project the hole boundary onto a nearby plane or polygon to establish correspondence; however, they often neglect boundary heterogeneity, which can yield biased mappings, degrade fairness, and even cause filling failures. We propose UVTran, a transformer-based framework that predicts an auxiliary projection surface better to capture the geometric characteristics of the hole boundary. Exploiting B-spline locality, we design a cross-attention mechanism that biases each surface control point toward the nearby hole boundary, preserving local geometric detail. We voxelize control-point coordinates and formulate the fitting problem as a classification task, which reduces the model's sensitivity to small numerical perturbations and noise. We adopt a progressive-resolution training strategy that injects controlled discretization errors at coarse resolutions to mimic distribution shifts, thereby mitigating overfitting and improving generalization at high resolution. On our benchmark, UVTran outperforms both industrial and academic baselines: the tolerance-satisfaction rate improves by 12%12\%, and it consistently produces fair filled surfaces even under complex hole boundary conditions. These results suggest that UVTran yields more faithful correspondences and fairer trimmed surfaces across a wide range of N-sided holes.

Zero-to-CAD: Agentic Synthesis of Interpretable CAD Programs at Million-Scale Without Real Data

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models are defined by their construction history: a parametric recipe that encodes design intent. However, existing large-scale 3D datasets predominantly consist of boundary representations (B-Reps) or meshes, stripping away this critical procedural information. To address this scarcity, we introduce Zero-to-CAD, a scalable framework for synthesizing executable CAD construction sequences. We frame synthesis as an agentic search problem: by embedding a large language model (LLM) within a feedback-driven CAD environment, our system iteratively generates, executes, and validates code using tools and documentation lookup to promote geometric validity and operation diversity. This agentic approach enables the synthesis of approximately one million executable, readable, editable CAD sequences, covering a rich vocabulary of operations beyond sketch-and-extrude workflows. We also release a curated subset of 100,000 high-quality models selected for geometric diversity. To demonstrate the dataset's utility, we fine-tune a vision-language model on our synthetic data to reconstruct editable CAD programs from multi-view images, outperforming strong baselines, including GPT-5.2, and effectively bootstrapping sequence generation capabilities without real construction-history training data. Zero-to-CAD bridges the gap between geometric scale and parametric interpretability, offering a vital resource for the next generation of CAD AI.

neuralCAD-Edit: An Expert Benchmark for Multimodal-Instructed 3D CAD Model Editing

We introduce neuralCAD-Edit, the first benchmark for editing 3D CAD models collected from expert CAD engineers. Instead of text conditioning as in prior works, we collect realistic CAD editing requests by capturing videos of professional designers, interacting directly with CAD models in CAD software, while talking, pointing and drawing. We recruited ten consenting designers to contribute to this contained study. We benchmark leading foundation models against human CAD experts carrying out edits, and find a large performance gap in both automatic metrics and human evaluations. Even the best foundation model (GPT 5.2) scores 53% lower (absolute) than CAD experts in human acceptance trials, demonstrating the challenge of neuralCAD-Edit. We hope neuralCAD-Edit will provide a solid foundation against which 3D CAD editing approaches and foundation models can be developed. Code/data: https://autodeskailab.github.io/neuralCAD-Edit

Agent-Aided Design for Dynamic CAD Models

In the past year, researchers have created agentic systems that can design real-world CAD-style objects in a training-free setting, a new variety of system that we call Agent-Aided Design. These systems place an agent in a feedback loop in which it generates an assembly of CAD model(s), visualizes the assembly, and then iteratively refines its assembly based on visual and other feedback. Despite rapid progress, a key problem remains: none of these systems can build complex 3D assemblies with moving parts. For example, no existing system can build a piston, a pendulum, or even a pair of scissors. In order for Agent-Aided Design to make a real impact in industrial manufacturing, we need a system that is capable of generating such 3D assemblies. In this paper we present a prototype of AADvark, an agentic system designed for this task. Unlike previous state-of-the-art systems, AADvark captures the dynamic part interactions with one or more degrees-of-freedom. This design decision allows AADvark to reason directly about assemblies with moving parts and can thereby achieve cross-cutting goals, including but not limited to mechanical movements. Unfortunately, current LLMs are imperfect spatial reasoners, a problem that AADvark addresses by incorporating external constraint solver tools with a specialized visual feedback mechanism. We demonstrate that, by modifying the agent's tools (FreeCAD and the assembly solver), we are able to create a strong verification signal which enables our system to build 3D assemblies with movable parts.

ArtiCAD: Articulated CAD Assembly Design via Multi-Agent Code Generation

Parametric Computer-Aided Design (CAD) of articulated assemblies is essential for product development, yet generating these multi-part, movable models from high-level descriptions remains unexplored. To address this, we propose ArtiCAD, the first training-free multi-agent system capable of generating editable, articulated CAD assemblies directly from text or images. Our system divides this complex task among four specialized agents: Design, Generation, Assembly, and Review. One of our key insights is to predict assembly relationships during the initial design stage rather than the assembly stage. By utilizing a Connector that explicitly defines attachment points and joint parameters, ArtiCAD determines these relationships before geometry generation, effectively bypassing the limited spatial reasoning capabilities of current LLMs and VLMs. To further ensure high-quality outputs, we introduce validation steps in the generation and assembly stages, accompanied by a cross-stage rollback mechanism that accurately isolates and corrects design- and code-level errors. Additionally, a self-evolving experience store accumulates design knowledge to continuously improve performance on future tasks. Extensive evaluations on three datasets (ArtiCAD-Bench, CADPrompt, and ACD) validate the effectiveness of our approach. We further demonstrate the applicability of ArtiCAD in requirement-driven conceptual design, physical prototyping, and the generation of embodied AI training assets through URDF export.

Learning Hierarchical and Geometry-Aware Graph Representations for Text-to-CAD

Text-to-CAD code generation is a long-horizon task that translates textual instructions into long sequences of interdependent operations. Existing methods typically decode text directly into executable code (e.g., bpy) without explicitly modeling assembly hierarchy or geometric constraints, which enlarges the search space, accumulates local errors, and often causes cascading failures in complex assemblies. To address this issue, we propose a hierarchical and geometry-aware graph as an intermediate representation. The graph models multi-level parts and components as nodes and encodes explicit geometric constraints as edges. Instead of mapping text directly to code, our framework first predicts structure and constraints, then conditions action sequencing and code generation, thereby improving geometric fidelity and constraint satisfaction. We further introduce a structure-aware progressive curriculum learning strategy that constructs graded tasks through controlled structural edits, explores the model's capability boundary, and synthesizes boundary examples for iterative training. In addition, we build a 12K dataset with instructions, decomposition graphs, action sequences, and bpy code, together with graph- and constraint-oriented evaluation metrics. Extensive experiments show that our method consistently outperforms existing approaches in both geometric fidelity and accurate satisfaction of geometric constraints.

COSMO-Agent: Tool-Augmented Agent for Closed-loop Optimization,Simulation,and Modeling Orchestration

Iterative industrial design-simulation optimization is bottlenecked by the CAD-CAE semantic gap: translating simulation feedback into valid geometric edits under diverse, coupled constraints. To fill this gap, we propose COSMO-Agent (Closed-loop Optimization, Simulation, and Modeling Orchestration), a tool-augmented reinforcement learning (RL) framework that teaches LLMs to complete the closed-loop CAD-CAE process. Specifically, we cast CAD generation, CAE solving, result parsing, and geometry revision as an interactive RL environment, where an LLM learns to orchestrate external tools and revise parametric geometries until constraints are satisfied. To make this learning stable and industrially usable, we design a multi-constraint reward that jointly encourages feasibility, toolchain robustness, and structured output validity. In addition, we contribute an industry-aligned dataset that covers 25 component categories with executable CAD-CAE tasks to support realistic training and evaluation. Experiments show that COSMO-Agent training substantially improves small open-source LLMs for constraint-driven design, exceeding large open-source and strong closed-source models in feasibility, efficiency, and stability.

CADSmith: Multi-Agent CAD Generation with Programmatic Geometric Validation

Existing methods for text-to-CAD generation either operate in a single pass with no geometric verification or rely on lossy visual feedback that cannot resolve dimensional errors. We present CADSmith, a multi-agent pipeline that generates CadQuery code from natural language. It then undergoes an iterative refinement process through two nested correction loops: an inner loop that resolves execution errors and an outer loop grounded in programmatic geometric validation. The outer loop combines exact measurements from the OpenCASCADE kernel (bounding box dimensions, volume, solid validity) with holistic visual assessment from an independent vision-language model Judge. This provides both the numerical precision and the high-level shape awareness needed to converge on the correct geometry. The system uses retrieval-augmented generation over API documentation rather than fine-tuning, maintaining a current database as the underlying CAD library evolves. We evaluate on a custom benchmark of 100 prompts in three difficulty tiers (T1 through T3) with three ablation configurations. Against a zero-shot baseline, CADSmith achieves a 100% execution rate (up from 95%), improves the median F1 score from 0.9707 to 0.9846, the median IoU from 0.8085 to 0.9629, and reduces the mean Chamfer Distance from 28.37 to 0.74, demonstrating that closed-loop refinement with programmatic geometric feedback substantially improves the quality and reliability of LLM-generated CAD models.

PR-CAD: Progressive Refinement for Unified Controllable and Faithful Text-to-CAD Generation with Large Language Models

The construction of CAD models has traditionally relied on labor-intensive manual operations and specialized expertise. Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have inspired research into text-to-CAD generation. However, existing approaches typically treat generation and editing as disjoint tasks, limiting their practicality. We propose PR-CAD, a progressive refinement framework that unifies generation and editing for controllable and faithful text-to-CAD modeling. To support this, we curate a high-fidelity interaction dataset spanning the full CAD lifecycle, encompassing multiple CAD representations as well as both qualitative and quantitative descriptions. The dataset systematically defines the types of edit operations and generates highly human-like interaction data. Building on a CAD representation tailored for LLMs, we propose a reinforcement learning-enhanced reasoning framework that integrates intent understanding, parameter estimation, and precise edit localization into a single agent. This enables an "all-in-one" solution for both design creation and refinement. Extensive experiments demonstrate strong mutual reinforcement between generation and editing tasks, and across qualitative and quantitative modalities. On public benchmarks, PR-CAD achieves state-of-the-art controllability and faithfulness in both generation and refinement scenarios, while also proving user-friendly and significantly improving CAD modeling efficiency.

GeoFusion-CAD: Structure-Aware Diffusion with Geometric State Space for Parametric 3D Design

Parametric Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is fundamental to modern 3D modeling, yet existing methods struggle to generate long command sequences, especially under complex geometric and topological dependencies. Transformer-based architectures dominate CAD sequence generation due to their strong dependency modeling, but their quadratic attention cost and limited context windowing hinder scalability to long programs. We propose GeoFusion-CAD, an end-to-end diffusion framework for scalable and structure-aware generation. Our proposal encodes CAD programs as hierarchical trees, jointly capturing geometry and topology within a state-space diffusion process. Specifically, a lightweight C-Mamba block models long-range structural dependencies through selective state transitions, enabling coherent generation across extended command sequences. To support long-sequence evaluation, we introduce DeepCAD-240, an extended benchmark that increases the sequence length ranging from 40 to 240 while preserving sketch-extrusion semantics from the ABC dataset. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GeoFusion-CAD achieves superior performance on both short and long command ranges, maintaining high geometric fidelity and topological consistency where Transformer-based models degrade. Our approach sets new state-of-the-art scores for long-sequence parametric CAD generation, establishing a scalable foundation for next-generation CAD modeling systems. Code and datasets are available at GitHub.

PCA-Based Interpretable Knowledge Representation and Analysis of Geometric Design Parameters

In many CAD-based applications, complex geometries are defined by a high number of design parameters. This leads to high-dimensional design spaces that are challenging for downstream engineering processes like simulations, optimization, and design exploration tasks. Therefore, dimension reduction methods such as principal component analysis (PCA) are used. The PCA identifies dominant modes of geometric variation and yields a compact representation of the geometry. While classical PCA excels in the compact representation part, it does not directly recover underlying design parameters of a generated geometry. In this work, we deal with the problem of estimating design parameters from PCA-based representations. Analyzing a recent modification of the PCA dedicated to our field of application, we show that the results are actually identical to the standard PCA. We investigate limitations of this approach and present reasonable conditions under which accurate, interpretable parameter estimation can be obtained. With the help of dedicated experiments, we take a more in-depth look at every stage of the PCA and the possible changes of the geometry during these processes.

SldprtNet: A Large-Scale Multimodal Dataset for CAD Generation in Language-Driven 3D Design

We introduce SldprtNet, a large-scale dataset comprising over 242,000 industrial parts, designed for semantic-driven CAD modeling, geometric deep learning, and the training and fine-tuning of multimodal models for 3D design. The dataset provides 3D models in both .step and .sldprt formats to support diverse training and testing. To enable parametric modeling and facilitate dataset scalability, we developed supporting tools, an encoder and a decoder, which support 13 types of CAD commands and enable lossless transformation between 3D models and a structured text representation. Additionally, each sample is paired with a composite image created by merging seven rendered views from different viewpoints of the 3D model, effectively reducing input token length and accelerating inference. By combining this image with the parameterized text output from the encoder, we employ the lightweight multimodal language model Qwen2.5-VL-7B to generate a natural language description of each part's appearance and functionality. To ensure accuracy, we manually verified and aligned the generated descriptions, rendered images, and 3D models. These descriptions, along with the parameterized modeling scripts, rendered images, and 3D model files, are fully aligned to construct SldprtNet. To assess its effectiveness, we fine-tuned baseline models on a dataset subset, comparing image-plus-text inputs with text-only inputs. Results confirm the necessity and value of multimodal datasets for CAD generation. It features carefully selected real-world industrial parts, supporting tools for scalable dataset expansion, diverse modalities, and ensured diversity in model complexity and geometric features, making it a comprehensive multimodal dataset built for semantic-driven CAD modeling and cross-modal learning.

A2Z-10M+: Geometric Deep Learning with A-to-Z BRep Annotations for AI-Assisted CAD Modeling and Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering and rapid prototyping of computer-aided design (CAD) models from 3D scans, sketches, or simple text prompts are vital in industrial product design. However, recent advances in geometric deep learning techniques lack a multi-modal understanding of parametric CAD features stored in their boundary representation (BRep). This study presents the largest compilation of 10 million multi-modal annotations and metadata for 1 million ABC CAD models, namely A2Z, to unlock an unprecedented level of BRep learning. A2Z comprises (i) high-resolution meshes with salient 3D scanning features, (ii) 3D hand-drawn sketches equipped with (iii) geometric and topological information about BRep co-edges, corners, and surfaces, and (iv) textual captions and tags describing the product in the mechanical world. Creating such carefully structured, large-scale data, which requires nearly 5 terabytes of storage to leverage unparalleled CAD learning/retrieval tasks, is very challenging. The scale, quality, and diversity of our multi-modal annotations are assessed using novel metrics, GPT-5, Gemini, and extensive human feedback mechanisms. To this end, we also merge an additional 25,000 CAD models of electronic enclosures (e.g., tablets, ports) designed by skilled professionals with our A2Z dataset. Subsequently, we train and benchmark a foundation model on a subset of 150K CAD models to detect BRep co-edges and corner vertices from 3D scans, a key downstream task in CAD reverse engineering. The annotated dataset, metrics, and checkpoints will be publicly released to support numerous research directions.

Towards High-Fidelity CAD Generation via LLM-Driven Program Generation and Text-Based B-Rep Primitive Grounding

The field of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) generation has made significant progress in recent years. Existing methods typically fall into two separate categories: parametric CAD modeling and direct boundary representation (B-Rep) synthesis. In modern feature-based CAD systems, parametric modeling and B-Rep are inherently intertwined, as advanced parametric operations (e.g., fillet and chamfer) require explicit selection of B-Rep geometric primitives, and the B-Rep itself is derived from parametric operations. Consequently, this paradigm gap remains a critical factor limiting AI-driven CAD modeling for complex industrial product design. This paper presents FutureCAD, a novel text-to-CAD framework that leverages large language models (LLMs) and a B-Rep grounding transformer (BRepGround) for high-fidelity CAD generation. Our method generates executable CadQuery scripts, and introduces a text-based query mechanism that enables the LLM to specify geometric selections via natural language, which BRepGround then grounds to the target primitives. To train our framework, we construct a new dataset comprising real-world CAD models. For the LLM, we apply supervised fine-tuning (SFT) to establish fundamental CAD generation capabilities, followed by reinforcement learning (RL) to improve generalization. Experiments show that FutureCAD achieves state-of-the-art CAD generation performance. Code and dataset are available at: https://github.com/JohanStackk/FutureCAD

Learning From Design Procedure To Generate CAD Programs for Data Augmentation

Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated impressive capabilities in a wide range of code generation tasks. However, generating code for certain domains remains challenging. One such domain is Computer-Aided Design (CAD) program, where the goal is to produce scripted parametric models that define object geometry for precise design and manufacturing applications. A key challenge in LLM-based CAD program generation is the limited geometric complexity of generated shapes compared to those found in real-world industrial designs. This shortfall is in part due to the lack of diversity in the available CAD program training data. To address this, we propose a novel data augmentation paradigm that prompts an LLM to generate CAD programs conditioned on a reference surface program and a modeling procedure - an idea inspired by practices in industrial design. By varying the reference surface using a collection of organic shapes, our method enriches the geometric distribution of generated CAD models. In particular, it introduces edges and faces defined by spline-based curvature, which are typically missing or underrepresented in existing open-source CAD program datasets. Experiments show that our method produces CAD samples with significantly greater geometric diversity and a higher resemblance to industry-grade CAD designs in terms of the proportion of organic shape primitives. This enhancement makes our CAD data augmentation approach a useful tool for training LLMs and other deep learning models in CAD generation.

DreamCAD: Scaling Multi-modal CAD Generation using Differentiable Parametric Surfaces

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) relies on structured and editable geometric representations, yet existing generative methods are constrained by small annotated datasets with explicit design histories or boundary representation (BRep) labels. Meanwhile, millions of unannotated 3D meshes remain untapped, limiting progress in scalable CAD generation. To address this, we propose DreamCAD, a multi-modal generative framework that directly produces editable BReps from point-level supervision, without CAD-specific annotations. DreamCAD represents each BRep as a set of parametric patches (e.g., Bézier surfaces) and uses a differentiable tessellation method to generate meshes. This enables large-scale training on 3D datasets while reconstructing connected and editable surfaces. Furthermore, we introduce CADCap-1M, the largest CAD captioning dataset to date, with 1M+ descriptions generated using GPT-5 for advancing text-to-CAD research. DreamCAD achieves state-of-the-art performance on ABC and Objaverse benchmarks across text, image, and point modalities, improving geometric fidelity and surpassing 75% user preference. Code and dataset will be publicly available.

Pointer-CAD: Unifying B-Rep and Command Sequences via Pointer-based Edges & Faces Selection

Constructing computer-aided design (CAD) models is labor-intensive but essential for engineering and manufacturing. Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have inspired the LLM-based CAD generation by representing CAD as command sequences. But these methods struggle in practical scenarios because command sequence representation does not support entity selection (e.g. faces or edges), limiting its ability to support complex editing operations such as chamfer or fillet. Further, the discretization of a continuous variable during sketch and extrude operations may result in topological errors. To address these limitations, we present Pointer-CAD, a novel LLM-based CAD generation framework that leverages a pointer-based command sequence representation to explicitly incorporate the geometric information of B-rep models into sequential modeling. In particular, Pointer-CAD decomposes CAD model generation into steps, conditioning the generation of each subsequent step on both the textual description and the B-rep generated from previous steps. Whenever an operation requires the selection of a specific geometric entity, the LLM predicts a Pointer that selects the most feature-consistent candidate from the available set. Such a selection operation also reduces the quantization error in the command sequence-based representation. To support the training of Pointer-CAD, we develop a data annotation pipeline that produces expert-level natural language descriptions and apply it to build a dataset of approximately 575K CAD models. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that Pointer-CAD effectively supports the generation of complex geometric structures and reduces segmentation error to an extremely low level, achieving a significant improvement over prior command sequence methods, thereby significantly mitigating the topological inaccuracies introduced by quantization error.

Mamba-CAD: State Space Model For 3D Computer-Aided Design Generative Modeling

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) generative modeling has a strong and long-term application in the industry. Recently, the parametric CAD sequence as the design logic of an object has been widely mined by sequence models. However, the industrial CAD models, especially in component objects, are fine-grained and complex, requiring a longer parametric CAD sequence to define. To address the problem, we introduce Mamba-CAD, a self-supervised generative modeling for complex CAD models in the industry, which can model on a longer parametric CAD sequence. Specifically, we first design an encoder-decoder framework based on a Mamba architecture and pair it with a CAD reconstruction task for pre-training to model the latent representation of CAD models; and then we utilize the learned representation to guide a generative adversarial network to produce the fake representation of CAD models, which would be finally recovered into parametric CAD sequences via the decoder of MambaCAD. To train Mamba-CAD, we further create a new dataset consisting of 77,078 CAD models with longer parametric CAD sequences. Comprehensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model under various evaluation metrics, especially in the generation length of valid parametric CAD sequences. The code and dataset can be achieved from https://github.com/Sunny-Hack/Code-for-Mamba-CAD-AAAI-2025-.

CADReasoner: Iterative Program Editing for CAD Reverse Engineering

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) powers modern engineering, yet producing high-quality parts still demands substantial expert effort. Many AI systems tackle CAD reverse engineering, but most are single-pass and miss fine geometric details. In contrast, human engineers compare the input shape with the reconstruction and iteratively modify the design based on remaining discrepancies. Agent-based methods mimic this loop with frozen VLMs, but weak 3D grounding of current foundation models limits reliability and efficiency. We introduce CADReasoner, a model trained to iteratively refine its prediction using geometric discrepancy between the input and the predicted shape. The model outputs a runnable CadQuery Python program whose rendered mesh is fed back at the next step. CADReasoner fuses multi-view renders and point clouds as complementary modalities. To bridge the realism gap, we propose a scan-simulation protocol applied during both training and evaluation. Across DeepCAD, Fusion 360, and MCB benchmarks, CADReasoner attains state-of-the-art results on clean and scan-sim tracks.

CADKnitter: Compositional CAD Generation from Text and Geometry Guidance

Computer-aided design (CAD) defines 3D models as compact, precise, and editable representations, making it directly useful for several fields. Recently, CAD generation has been gaining more attention in both the research community and industry. Crafting CAD models has long been a painstaking and time-intensive task, demanding both precision and expertise from designers. Prior works have achieved early success in single-part CAD generation, which is not well-suited for real-world applications, as multiple parts need to be assembled under semantic constraints and geometric compatibility. In this paper, we propose CADKnitter, a compositional CAD generation framework with geometric-guiding cues to steer diffusion sampling. CADKnitter is able to generate a complementary CAD part that follows both the geometric constraints of the given CAD model and the semantic constraints of the desired design text prompt. We also curate a dataset, so-called KnitCAD, containing over 310,000 samples of CAD models, along with textual prompts and assembly metadata that provide semantic and geometric constraints. Intensive experiments demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms other state-of-the-art baselines by a clear margin. Our project page is available at https://cadknitter.github.io/.

HistCAD: Constraint-Aware Parametric CAD Histories for Evaluating Editability

Sketch constraints specify geometric conditions for constructing and modifying parametric CAD models. We study whether predicted constraints allow a given history to reproduce the required initial model and support prescribed dimensional edits. We introduce HistCAD, an executable representation and dataset whose Academic and Industrial collections contain 180,495 parametric construction histories with entity-referenced sketch constraints and retained feature operations. Predictors receive these histories with the geometry and feature definitions retained and explicit sketch constraints removed. They generate constraints for every sketch without seeing the edit request. The benchmark compares models built with alternative constraint sets for the same history under the same dimensional edit. An edit succeeds when the model reproduces the required initial geometry, reaches the target value, preserves specified relations and unedited dimensions in the target sketch, and rebuilds through the complete history. A predictor trained on both collections and supplied with descriptions of the input histories achieves overall edit success of 52.4% on Academic and 29.0% on Industrial. Models retaining only endpoint-connectivity constraints in the target sketch and the history's constraints elsewhere can reach the target and rebuild while failing preservation. For all-sketch predictions, we retain the target-sketch prediction and restore the history's constraints in other sketches. More models then reproduce the required initial geometry, and some of these newly matched models complete the edit. HistCAD connects constraint learning to the construction and revision of parametric CAD models.
