Real-Time Interactive Video Generation

Overview

The field studies how to generate video that responds as people interact, including controllable worlds, avatars, and live video editing. Common approaches adapt video diffusion or autoregressive models for causal streaming, then use few-step distillation, caching, and bounded memory to reduce latency; 3D geometry and physics can provide more explicit camera and action control. Systems are tested for visual quality, control accuracy, throughput, and latency, with benchmarks increasingly measuring long streams and interactive responsiveness. A central challenge is balancing fast reactions with realistic motion and consistent scenes or identities over long interactions, where drift and limited memory remain concerns.

Causal Forcing++: Scalable Few-Step Autoregressive Diffusion Distillation for Real-Time Interactive Video Generation

Real-time interactive video generation requires low-latency, streaming, and controllable rollout. Existing autoregressive (AR) diffusion distillation methods have achieved strong results in the chunk-wise 4-step regime by distilling bidirectional base models into few-step AR students, but they remain limited by coarse response granularity and non-negligible sampling latency. In this paper, we study a more aggressive setting: frame-wise autoregression with only 1--2 sampling steps. In this regime, we identify the initialization of a few-step AR student as the key bottleneck: existing strategies are either target-misaligned, incapable of few-step generation, or too costly to scale. We propose Causal Forcing++, a principled and scalable pipeline that uses causal consistency distillation (causal CD) for few-step AR initialization. The core idea is that causal CD learns the same AR-conditional flow map as causal ODE distillation, but obtains supervision from a single online teacher ODE step between adjacent timesteps, avoiding the need to precompute and store full PF-ODE trajectories. This makes the initialization both more efficient and easier to optimize. The resulting pipeline, \ours, surpasses the SOTA 4-step chunk-wise Causal Forcing under the frame-wise 2-step setting by 0.1 in VBench Total, 0.3 in VBench Quality, and 0.335 in VisionReward, while reducing first-frame latency by 50% and Stage 2 training cost by \sim$$4\times. We further extend the pipeline to action-conditioned world model generation in the spirit of Genie3. Project Page: https://github.com/thu-ml/Causal-Forcing and https://github.com/shengshu-ai/minWM .

Delta Forcing: Trust Region Steering for Interactive Autoregressive Video Generation

Interactive real-time autoregressive video generation is essential for applications such as content creation and world modeling, where visual content must adapt to dynamically evolving event conditions. A fundamental challenge lies in balancing reactivity and stability: models must respond promptly to new events while maintaining temporal coherence over long horizons. Existing approaches distill bidirectional models into autoregressive generators and further adapt them via streaming long tuning, yet often exhibit persistent drift after condition changes. We identify the cause as conditional bias, where the teacher may provide condition-aligned but trajectory-agnostic guidance, biasing generation toward locally valid yet globally inconsistent modes. Inspired by Trust Region Policy Optimization, we propose Delta Forcing, a simple yet effective framework that constrains unreliable teacher supervision within an adaptive trust region. Specifically, Delta Forcing estimates transition consistency from the latent delta between teacher and generator trajectories, and uses it to balance teacher supervision with a monotonic continuity objective. This suppress unreliable teacher-induced shifts while preserving responsiveness to new events. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Delta Forcing significantly improves consistency while maintaining event reactivity.

CausalCine: Real-Time Autoregressive Generation for Multi-Shot Video Narratives

Autoregressive video generation aims at real-time, open-ended synthesis. Yet, cinematic storytelling is not merely the endless extension of a single scene; it requires progressing through evolving events, viewpoint shifts, and discrete shot boundaries. Existing autoregressive models often struggle in this setting. Trained primarily for short-horizon continuation, they treat long sequences as extended single shots, inevitably suffering from motion stagnation and semantic drift during long rollouts. To bridge this gap, we introduce CausalCine, an interactive autoregressive framework that transforms multi-shot video generation into an online directing process. CausalCine generates causally across shot changes, accepts dynamic prompts on the fly, and reuses context without regenerating previous shots. To achieve this, we first train a causal base model on native multi-shot sequences to learn complex shot transitions prior to acceleration. We then propose Content-Aware Memory Routing (CAMR), which dynamically retrieves historical KV entries according to attention-based relevance scores rather than temporal proximity, preserving cross-shot coherence under bounded active memory. Finally, we distill the causal base model into a few-step generator for real-time interactive generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CausalCine significantly outperforms autoregressive baselines and approaches the capability of bidirectional models while unlocking the streaming interactivity of causal generation. RealCam: Real-Time Novel-View Video Generation with Interactive Camera Control

Camera-controlled video-to-video (V2V) generation enables dynamic viewpoint synthesis from monocular footage, holding immense potential for interactive filmmaking and live broadcasting. However, existing implicit synthesis methods fundamentally rely on non-causal, full-sequence processing and rigid prefix-style temporal concatenation. This architectural paradigm mandates bidirectional attention, resulting in prohibitive computational latency, quadratic complexity scaling, and inherent incompatibility with real-time streaming or variable-length inputs. To overcome these limitations, we introduce RealCam, a novel autoregressive framework for interactive, real-time camera-controlled V2V generation. We first design a high-fidelity teacher model grounded in a Cross-frame In-context Learning paradigm. By interleaving source and target frames into synchronized contextual pairs, our design inherently enables length-agnostic generalization and naturally facilitates causal adaptation, breaking the rigid prefix bottleneck. We then distill this teacher into a few-step causal student via Self-Forcing with Distribution Matching Distillation, enabling efficient, on-the-fly streaming synthesis. Furthermore, to mitigate severe loop inconsistency in closed-loop trajectories, we propose Loop-Closed Data Augmentation (LoopAug), a novel paradigm that synthesizes globally consistent loop sequences from existing multiview datasets. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RealCam achieves state-of-the-art visual fidelity and temporal consistency while enabling truly interactive camera control with orders-of-magnitude faster inference than existing paradigms. Hallo-Live: Real-Time Streaming Joint Audio-Video Avatar Generation with Asynchronous Dual-Stream and Human-Centric Preference Distillation

Real-time text-driven joint audio-video avatar generation requires jointly synthesizing portrait video and speech with high fidelity and precise synchronization, yet existing audio-visual diffusion models remain too slow for interactive use and often degrade noticeably after aggressive acceleration. We present Hallo-Live, a streaming framework for joint audio-visual avatar generation that combines asynchronous dual-stream diffusion with human-centric preference-guided distillation. To reduce articulation lag in causal generation, we introduce Future-Expanding Attention, which allows each video block to access synchronous audio together with a short horizon of future phonetic cues. To mitigate the quality loss of few-step distillation, we further propose Human-Centric Preference-Guided DMD (HP-DMD), which reweights training samples using rewards from visual fidelity, speech naturalness, and audio-visual synchronization. On two NVIDIA H200 GPUs, Hallo-Live runs at 20.38 FPS with 0.94 seconds latency, yielding 16.0x higher throughput and 99.3x lower latency than the teacher model Ovi. Despite this speedup, it retains strong generation quality, reaching comparable VideoAlign overall score and Sync Confidence score while outperforming other accelerated baselines in the overall quality-efficiency trade-off. Qualitative results further show robust generalization across photorealistic, multi-speaker, and stylized scenarios. To the best of our knowledge, Hallo-Live is the first framework to combine streaming dual-stream diffusion with preference-guided distillation for real-time, text-driven audio-visual generation.

Real-Time AttentionBender: Granular Interactive Network Bending of Video Diffusion Transformers

Generative video models have achieved remarkable visual fidelity, yet their prompt-only interface offers thin creative agency and obscures the model's material process from the artists working with it. We present Real-Time AttentionBender, a tool that extends the practice of network bending across the full depth of the video diffusion transformer (DiT) and brings it into live, interactive generation. Built as a plugin within the DayDream Scope ecosystem and wrapping open-source real-time Wan pipelines, the tool exposes self-attention, cross-attention, and the feed-forward network as independently manipulable surfaces, with targeting down to individual diffusion steps, DiT layers, prompt tokens, and hidden neurons. The immediacy of live manipulation affords what we call "material intimacy" with the model: a responsive, near-mechanistic feel for how specific layers and neurons shape generated video. We position the tool as simultaneously an XAIxArts probe into transformer internals and an expressive instrument for discovering aesthetics outside the model's default representational space.

DiT as Real-Time Rerenderer: Streaming Video Stylization with Autoregressive Diffusion Transformer

Recent advances in video generation models has significantly accelerated video generation and related downstream tasks. Among these, video stylization holds important research value in areas such as immersive applications and artistic creation, attracting widespread attention. However, existing diffusion-based video stylization methods struggle to maintain stability and consistency when processing long videos, and their high computational cost and multi-step denoising make them difficult to apply in practical scenarios. In this work, we propose RTR-DiT (DiT as Real-Time Rerenderer), a steaming video stylization framework built upon Diffusion Transformer. We first fine-tune a bidirectional teacher model on a curated video stylization dataset, supporting both text-guided and reference-guided video stylization tasks, and subsequently distill it into a few-step autoregressive model via post-training with Self Forcing and Distribution Matching Distillation. Furthermore, we propose a reference-preserving KV cache update strategy that not only enables stable and consistent processing of long videos, but also supports real-time switching between text prompts and reference images. Experimental results show that RTR-DiT outperforms existing methods in both text-guided and reference-guided video stylization tasks, in terms of quantitative metrics and visual quality, and demonstrates excellent performance in real-time long video stylization and interactive style-switching applications.

Matrix-Game 3.0: Real-Time and Streaming Interactive World Model with Long-Horizon Memory

With the advancement of interactive video generation, diffusion models have increasingly demonstrated their potential as world models. However, existing approaches still struggle to simultaneously achieve memory-enabled long-term temporal consistency and high-resolution real-time generation, limiting their applicability in real-world scenarios. To address this, we present Matrix-Game 3.0, a memory-augmented interactive world model designed for 720p real-time longform video generation. Building upon Matrix-Game 2.0, we introduce systematic improvements across data, model, and inference. First, we develop an upgraded industrial-scale infinite data engine that integrates Unreal Engine-based synthetic data, large-scale automated collection from AAA games, and real-world video augmentation to produce high-quality Video-Pose-Action-Prompt quadruplet data at scale. Second, we propose a training framework for long-horizon consistency: by modeling prediction residuals and re-injecting imperfect generated frames during training, the base model learns self-correction; meanwhile, camera-aware memory retrieval and injection enable the base model to achieve long horizon spatiotemporal consistency. Third, we design a multi-segment autoregressive distillation strategy based on Distribution Matching Distillation (DMD), combined with model quantization and VAE decoder pruning, to achieve efficient real-time inference. Experimental results show that Matrix-Game 3.0 achieves up to 40 FPS real-time generation at 720p resolution with a 5B model, while maintaining stable memory consistency over minute-long sequences. Scaling up to a 2x14B model further improves generation quality, dynamics, and generalization. Our approach provides a practical pathway toward industrial-scale deployable world models.

LPM 1.0: Video-based Character Performance Model

Performance, the externalization of intent, emotion, and personality through visual, vocal, and temporal behavior, is what makes a character alive. Learning such performance from video is a promising alternative to traditional 3D pipelines. However, existing video models struggle to jointly achieve high expressiveness, real-time inference, and long-horizon identity stability, a tension we call the performance trilemma. Conversation is the most comprehensive performance scenario, as characters simultaneously speak, listen, react, and emote while maintaining identity over time. To address this, we present LPM 1.0 (Large Performance Model), focusing on single-person full-duplex audio-visual conversational performance. Concretely, we build a multimodal human-centric dataset through strict filtering, speaking-listening audio-video pairing, performance understanding, and identity-aware multi-reference extraction; train a 17B-parameter Diffusion Transformer (Base LPM) for highly controllable, identity-consistent performance through multimodal conditioning; and distill it into a causal streaming generator (Online LPM) for low-latency, infinite-length interaction. At inference, given a character image with identity-aware references, LPM 1.0 generates listening videos from user audio and speaking videos from synthesized audio, with text prompts for motion control, all at real-time speed with identity-stable, infinite-length generation. LPM 1.0 thus serves as a visual engine for conversational agents, live streaming characters, and game NPCs. To systematically evaluate this setting, we propose LPM-Bench, the first benchmark for interactive character performance. LPM 1.0 achieves state-of-the-art results across all evaluated dimensions while maintaining real-time inference.

INSPATIO-WORLD: A Real-Time 4D World Simulator via Spatiotemporal Autoregressive Modeling

Building world models with spatial consistency and real-time interactivity remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision. Current video generation paradigms often struggle with a lack of spatial persistence and insufficient visual realism, making it difficult to support seamless navigation in complex environments. To address these challenges, we propose INSPATIO-WORLD, a novel real-time framework capable of recovering and generating high-fidelity, dynamic interactive scenes from a single reference video. At the core of our approach is a Spatiotemporal Autoregressive (STAR) architecture, which enables consistent and controllable scene evolution through two tightly coupled components: Implicit Spatiotemporal Cache aggregates reference and historical observations into a latent world representation, ensuring global consistency during long-horizon navigation; Explicit Spatial Constraint Module enforces geometric structure and translates user interactions into precise and physically plausible camera trajectories. Furthermore, we introduce Joint Distribution Matching Distillation (JDMD). By using real-world data distributions as a regularizing guide, JDMD effectively overcomes the fidelity degradation typically caused by over-reliance on synthetic data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that INSPATIO-WORLD significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art (SOTA) models in spatial consistency and interaction precision, ranking first among real-time interactive methods on the WorldScore-Dynamic benchmark, and establishing a practical pipeline for navigating 4D environments reconstructed from monocular videos.

SentiAvatar: Towards Expressive and Interactive Digital Humans

We present SentiAvatar, a framework for building expressive interactive 3D digital humans, and use it to create SuSu, a virtual character that speaks, gestures, and emotes in real time. Achieving such a system remains challenging, as it requires jointly addressing three key problems: the lack of large-scale, high-quality multimodal data, robust semantic-to-motion mapping, and fine-grained frame-level motion-prosody synchronization. To solve these problems, first, we build SuSuInterActs (21K clips, 37 hours), a dialogue corpus captured via optical motion capture around a single character with synchronized speech, full-body motion, and facial expressions. Second, we pre-train a Motion Foundation Model on 200K+ motion sequences, equipping it with rich action priors that go well beyond the conversation. We then propose an audio-aware plan-then-infill architecture that decouples sentence-level semantic planning from frame-level prosody-driven interpolation, so that generated motions are both semantically appropriate and rhythmically aligned with speech. Experiments show that SentiAvatar achieves state-of-the-art on both SuSuInterActs (R@1 43.64%, nearly 2 times the best baseline) and BEATv2 (FGD 4.941, BC 8.078), producing 6s of output in 0.3s with unlimited multi-turn streaming. FlashSign: Pose-Free Guidance for Efficient Sign Language Video Generation

Sign language plays a crucial role in bridging communication gaps between the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. However, existing sign language video generation models often rely on complex intermediate representations, which limits their flexibility and efficiency. In this work, we propose a novel pose-free framework for real-time sign language video generation. Our method eliminates the need for intermediate pose representations by directly mapping natural language text to sign language videos using a diffusion-based approach. We introduce two key innovations: (1) a pose-free generative model based on the a state-of-the-art diffusion backbone, which learns implicit text-to-gesture alignments without pose estimation, and (2) a Trainable Sliding Tile Attention (T-STA) mechanism that accelerates inference by exploiting spatio-temporal locality patterns. Unlike previous training-free sparsity approaches, T-STA integrates trainable sparsity into both training and inference, ensuring consistency and eliminating the train-test gap. This approach significantly reduces computational overhead while maintaining high generation quality, making real-time deployment feasible. Our method increases video generation speed by 3.07x without compromising video quality. Our contributions open new avenues for real-time, high-quality, pose-free sign language synthesis, with potential applications in inclusive communication tools for diverse communities. ShotStream: Streaming Multi-Shot Video Generation for Interactive Storytelling

Multi-shot video generation is crucial for long narrative storytelling, yet current bidirectional architectures suffer from limited interactivity and high latency. We propose ShotStream, a novel causal multi-shot architecture that enables interactive storytelling and efficient on-the-fly frame generation. By reformulating the task as next-shot generation conditioned on historical context, ShotStream allows users to dynamically instruct ongoing narratives via streaming prompts. We achieve this by first fine-tuning a text-to-video model into a bidirectional next-shot generator, which is then distilled into a causal student via Distribution Matching Distillation. To overcome the challenges of inter-shot consistency and error accumulation inherent in autoregressive generation, we introduce two key innovations. First, a dual-cache memory mechanism preserves visual coherence: a global context cache retains conditional frames for inter-shot consistency, while a local context cache holds generated frames within the current shot for intra-shot consistency. And a RoPE discontinuity indicator is employed to explicitly distinguish the two caches to eliminate ambiguity. Second, to mitigate error accumulation, we propose a two-stage distillation strategy. This begins with intra-shot self-forcing conditioned on ground-truth historical shots and progressively extends to inter-shot self-forcing using self-generated histories, effectively bridging the train-test gap. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ShotStream generates coherent multi-shot videos with sub-second latency, achieving 16 FPS on a single GPU. It matches or exceeds the quality of slower bidirectional models, paving the way for real-time interactive storytelling. Training and inference code, as well as the models, are available on our

EARTalking: End-to-end GPT-style Autoregressive Talking Head Synthesis with Frame-wise Control

Audio-driven talking head generation aims to create vivid and realistic videos from a static portrait and speech. Existing AR-based methods rely on intermediate facial representations, which limit their expressiveness and realism. Meanwhile, diffusion-based methods generate clip-by-clip, lacking fine-grained control and causing inherent latency due to overall denoising across the window. To address these limitations, we propose EARTalking, a novel end-to-end, GPT-style autoregressive model for interactive audio-driven talking head generation. Our method introduces a novel frame-by-frame, in-context, audio-driven streaming generation paradigm. For inherently supporting variable-length video generation with identity consistency, we propose the Sink Frame Window Attention (SFA) mechanism. Furthermore, to avoid the complex, separate networks that prior works required for diverse control signals, we propose a streaming Frame Condition In-Context (FCIC) scheme. This scheme efficiently injects diverse control signals in a streaming, in-context manner, enabling interactive control at every frame and at arbitrary moments. Experiments demonstrate that EARTalking outperforms existing autoregressive methods and achieves performance comparable to diffusion-based methods. Our work demonstrates the feasibility of in-context streaming autoregressive control, unlocking a scalable direction for flexible, efficient generation. The code will be released for reproducibility.

InSpatio-WorldFM: An Open-Source Real-Time Generative Frame Model

We present InSpatio-WorldFM, an open-source real-time frame model for spatial intelligence. Unlike video-based world models that rely on sequential frame generation and incur substantial latency due to window-level processing, InSpatio-WorldFM adopts a frame-based paradigm that generates each frame independently, enabling low-latency real-time spatial inference. By enforcing multi-view spatial consistency through explicit 3D anchors and implicit spatial memory, the model preserves global scene geometry while maintaining fine-grained visual details across viewpoint changes. We further introduce a progressive three-stage training pipeline that transforms a pretrained image diffusion model into a controllable frame model and finally into a real-time generator through few-step distillation. Experimental results show that InSpatio-WorldFM achieves strong multi-view consistency while supporting interactive exploration on consumer-grade GPUs, providing an efficient alternative to traditional video-based world models for real-time world simulation.

SoulX-LiveAct: Towards Hour-Scale Real-Time Human Animation with Neighbor Forcing and ConvKV Memory

Autoregressive (AR) diffusion models offer a promising framework for sequential generation tasks such as video synthesis by combining diffusion modeling with causal inference. Although they support streaming generation, existing AR diffusion methods struggle to scale efficiently. In this paper, we identify two key challenges in hour-scale real-time human animation. First, most forcing strategies propagate sample-level representations with mismatched diffusion states, causing inconsistent learning signals and unstable convergence. Second, historical representations grow unbounded and lack structure, preventing effective reuse of cached states and severely limiting inference efficiency. To address these challenges, we propose Neighbor Forcing, a diffusion-step-consistent AR formulation that propagates temporally adjacent frames as latent neighbors under the same noise condition. This design provides a distribution-aligned and stable learning signal while preserving drifting throughout the AR chain. Building upon this, we introduce a structured ConvKV memory mechanism that compresses the keys and values in causal attention into a fixed-length representation, enabling constant-memory inference and truly infinite video generation without relying on short-term motion-frame memory. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly improves training convergence, hour-scale generation quality, and inference efficiency compared to existing AR diffusion methods. Numerically, LiveAct enables hour-scale real-time human animation and supports 20 FPS real-time streaming inference on as few as two NVIDIA H100 or H200 GPUs. Quantitative results demonstrate that our method attains state-of-the-art performance in lip-sync accuracy, human animation quality, and emotional expressiveness, with the lowest inference cost.

RealWonder: Real-Time Physical Action-Conditioned Video Generation

Current video generation models cannot simulate physical consequences of 3D actions like forces and robotic manipulations, as they lack structural understanding of how actions affect 3D scenes. We present RealWonder, the first real-time system for action-conditioned video generation from a single image. Our key insight is using physics simulation as an intermediate bridge: instead of directly encoding continuous actions, we translate them through physics simulation into visual representations (optical flow and RGB) that video models can process. RealWonder integrates three components: 3D reconstruction from single images, physics simulation, and a distilled video generator requiring only 4 diffusion steps. Our system achieves 13.2 FPS at 480x832 resolution, enabling interactive exploration of forces, robot actions, and camera controls on rigid objects, deformable bodies, fluids, and granular materials. We envision RealWonder opens new opportunities to apply video models in immersive experiences, AR/VR, and robot learning. Helios: Real Real-Time Long Video Generation Model

We introduce Helios, the first 14B video generation model that runs at 19.5 FPS on a single NVIDIA H100 GPU and supports minute-scale generation while matching the quality of a strong baseline. We make breakthroughs along three key dimensions: (1) robustness to long-video drifting without commonly used anti-drifting heuristics such as self-forcing, error-banks, or keyframe sampling; (2) real-time generation without standard acceleration techniques such as KV-cache, sparse/linear attention, or quantization; and (3) training without parallelism or sharding frameworks, enabling image-diffusion-scale batch sizes while fitting up to four 14B models within 80 GB of GPU memory. Specifically, Helios is a 14B autoregressive diffusion model with a unified input representation that natively supports T2V, I2V, and V2V tasks. To mitigate drifting in long-video generation, we characterize typical failure modes and propose simple yet effective training strategies that explicitly simulate drifting during training, while eliminating repetitive motion at its source. For efficiency, we heavily compress the historical and noisy context and reduce the number of sampling steps, yielding computational costs comparable to -- or lower than -- those of 1.3B video generative models. Moreover, we introduce infrastructure-level optimizations that accelerate both inference and training while reducing memory consumption. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Helios consistently outperforms prior methods on both short- and long-video generation. We plan to release the code, base model, and distilled model to support further development by the community.

U-Mind: A Unified Framework for Real-Time Multimodal Interaction with Audiovisual Generation

Full-stack multimodal interaction in real-time is a central goal in building intelligent embodied agents capable of natural, dynamic communication. However, existing systems are either limited to unimodal generation or suffer from degraded reasoning and poor cross-modal alignment, preventing coherent and perceptually grounded interactions. In this work, we introduce U-Mind, the first unified system for high-intelligence multimodal dialogue that supports real-time generation and jointly models language, speech, motion, and video synthesis within a single interactive loop. At its core, U-Mind implements a Unified Alignment and Reasoning Framework that addresses two key challenges: enhancing cross-modal synchronization via a segment-wise alignment strategy, and preserving reasoning abilities through Rehearsal-Driven Learning. During inference, U-Mind adopts a text-first decoding pipeline that performs internal chain-of-thought planning followed by temporally synchronized generation across modalities. To close the loop, we implement a real-time video rendering framework conditioned on pose and speech, enabling expressive and synchronized visual feedback. Extensive experiments demonstrate that U-Mind achieves state-of-the-art performance on a range of multimodal interaction tasks, including question answering, instruction following, and motion generation, paving the way toward intelligent, immersive conversational agents.

Generated Reality: Human-centric World Simulation using Interactive Video Generation with Hand and Camera Control

Extended reality (XR) demands generative models that respond to users' tracked real-world motion, yet current video world models accept only coarse control signals such as text or keyboard input, limiting their utility for embodied interaction. We introduce a human-centric video world model that is conditioned on both tracked head pose and joint-level hand poses. For this purpose, we evaluate existing diffusion transformer conditioning strategies and propose an effective mechanism for 3D head and hand control, enabling dexterous hand--object interactions. We train a bidirectional video diffusion model teacher using this strategy and distill it into a causal, interactive system that generates egocentric virtual environments. We evaluate this generated reality system with human subjects and demonstrate improved task performance as well as a significantly higher level of perceived amount of control over the performed actions compared with relevant baselines.

Matrix-game 2.0: An open-source, real-time, and streaming interactive world model

Recent advances in interactive video generations have demonstrated diffusion model's potential as world models by capturing complex physical dynamics and interactive behaviors. However, existing interactive world models depend on bidirectional attention and lengthy inference steps, severely limiting real-time performance. Consequently, they are hard to simulate real-world dynamics, where outcomes must update instantaneously based on historical context and current actions. To address this, we present Matrix-Game 2.0, an interactive world model generates long videos on-the-fly via few-step auto-regressive diffusion. Our framework consists of three key components: (1) A scalable data production pipeline for Unreal Engine and GTA5 environments to effectively produce massive amounts (about 1200 hours) of video data with diverse interaction annotations; (2) An action injection module that enables frame-level mouse and keyboard inputs as interactive conditions; (3) A few-step distillation based on the casual architecture for real-time and streaming video generation. Matrix Game 2.0 can generate high-quality minute-level videos across diverse scenes at an ultra-fast speed of 25 FPS. We open-source our model weights and codebase to advance research in interactive world modeling.
