PixSDS: Why Latent SDS Makes Noisy Pixels

Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) enables text-to-3D generation by optimizing rendered images with a pretrained diffusion prior, but latent SDS often produces structured color artifacts and high-frequency texture noise. We identify a failure mode of latent SDS caused by VAE-induced pixel drift: the optimized image can move along pixel-space directions that are weakly constrained by the VAE encoder, so its latent representation remains clean and semantically meaningful while the image itself accumulates visible artifacts. We support this diagnosis with controlled 2D SDS experiments, VAE-only optimization, and a simplified analysis showing that encoder-like latent objectives can amplify image-space noise when the inverse mapping to pixels is underconstrained. Motivated by this observation, we propose PixSDS, a lightweight VAE-consistent gradient repair method. PixSDS decodes a latent SDS lookahead step and uses the decoded image as a clean direction for pixel-space optimization, reducing motion in VAE-inconsistent directions without retraining the diffusion model, changing the renderer, or replacing the SDS objective. Experiments in 2D optimization and text-to-3D generation show that PixSDS substantially reduces structured artifacts while preserving semantic content. Anchoring and Steering Diffusion: Enhancing the Faithfulness of Text-to-Image Generation at Inference Time

While text-to-image diffusion models achieve impressive visual quality, they frequently struggle to maintain precise alignment with complex compositional prompts. An effective strategy is to improve the inference process of diffusion models, thereby better leveraging their pretrained priors to address misalignment. Existing training-free methods can be divided into two categories. The first category focuses on improving the randomly sampled initial noise, either performing costly search over noise pools or manipulating sampled noise without ensuring reliable semantic injection. The second category focuses on improving the denoising trajectory, lacking explicit mechanisms to timely diagnose and correct semantic errors. we propose \textbf{AnchorSteer}, a training-free framework that exerts fine-grained control over \textbf{both initialization} and \textbf{the denoising trajectory}. AnchorSteer consists of two synergistic components: \textbf{Semantic Anchoring} replaces uninformative Gaussian noise with text-aligned initializations via CLIP-based prior extraction and a novel Latent-Prior Score Distillation Sampling (LP-SDS) objective. Specifically, LP-SDS distills CLIP visual priors into the knowledge distribution of diffusion models, mitigating the domain gap between CLIP-based priors and diffusion-based priors. \textbf{Reflective Steering} transforms passive denoising with an active Think--Erase--Retouch loop that enables mid-generation self-correction. It leverages VLM-based diagnosis to detect semantic deviations and performs targeted latent refinement to suppress erroneous content and recover missing attributes. Extensive experiments on GenEval and T2I-CompBench++ demonstrate that AnchorSteer consistently outperforms existing baselines in text--image alignment while preserving high visual quality.

Generative Video Compression with Adaptive Score Distillation

Diffusion models provide strong generative capabilities for video compression at ultra-low bitrates. Existing diffusion-based video codecs adapt base models originally developed for text-conditioned generation, whereas diffusion models designed and trained specifically for compression remain unexplored. To fill this gap, we introduce our Generative Video Codec (GenVC), built on a video diffusion model trained from scratch for compression. To our knowledge, this is the first compression-oriented video diffusion model. We realize this model directly in pixel space with a global-to-local hierarchy that recovers fine spatio-temporal details, enabling high-quality generative reconstruction from compressed representations. To accelerate inference, we distill the multi-step model into one step using distribution matching distillation (DMD). Applying DMD directly, however, drives the student toward motion-stalled reconstructions. We trace this to a teacher-side guidance failure: once student-induced perturbations leave the frozen teacher's training region, its guidance can become misleading, causing DMD updates to reinforce rather than correct the student drift. To break the resulting feedback loop, we propose Adaptive Score Distillation, which gates DMD updates according to their alignment with the ground-truth direction, enabling high-quality reconstruction with coherent motion. Experimental results show that GenVC achieves state-of-the-art perceptual quality at ultra-low bitrates, with average bitrate savings of 62.5% at matched LPIPS and 71.3% at matched FID over GLVC. Unlike prior codecs that inherit billion-scale pretrained backbones, our diffusion model has only 478.0M parameters and decodes 1080p video in a single step at 15.1 fps on an A100 GPU.

PoseAlign: Sculpting Pose-Consistent Meshes via Text-Guided Deformation

Mesh deformation, the process of altering the vertex positions of a 3D mesh while preserving its topological structure, is a cornerstone of computer graphics. Despite the recent emergence of numerous text-guided 3D mesh deformation methods, deforming an initial mesh into one that both adheres to text prompts and preserves its pose remains challenging. This paper proposes PoseAlign, which decomposes text-guided mesh deformation into two stages: global pose scaling and local detail sculpting. Specifically, in the first stage, we introduce the Laplacian as a differentiable mesh representation to enable more efficient yet smoother global deformation. Then, we propose a novel pose-aligned SDS loss by adapting score distillation sampling (SDS) with an attention-sharing mechanism, which sculptures fine-grained geometric details for the deformed mesh while preserving its original pose. PoseAlign significantly enhances the controllability of the overall deformation process, achieving a favorable balance between pose preservation and text alignment. Experiments demonstrate the competitive advantages of our method in text alignment and mesh quality. Code is available at: https://cousingrade6.github.io/PoseAlign

Stratified Multi-View Aggregation for Score Distillation

Score distillation turns a pretrained 2D diffusion model into a 3D generator, but the per-step gradient is estimated from a single random view: this one-sample estimate has high variance (different views of the same partial scene disagree) and is blind to global shape consistency. Existing multi-view approaches address this by retraining the diffusion prior on multi-view data; this improves consistency but conflates the sampling contribution with the quality of the retrained prior. We instead isolate the sampling axis, leaving the prior frozen. We introduce Multi-View Aggregated Score Distillation (MV-SDI), a training-free sampler that replaces the single-view per-step gradient with an average over K views at a fixed UNet-call budget. Averaging K views lowers the per-step gradient variance toward 1/K of its single-view value. Drawing the K views as antithetic antipodal pairs adds no further variance reduction (measured antipodal correlation rho approximately 0) but stratifies angular coverage (every step covers both hemispheres) removing the same-hemisphere clustering of independent sampling. At a fixed 10,000-UNet-call budget on the 43-prompt SDI benchmark, K=2 halves the optimization steps and raises CLIP R-Precision from 74.8% to 83.8% and CLIP score from 0.297 to 0.312 over the single-view SDI baseline, with consistent gains on HPSv2 and ImageReward and a 0.0% divergence rate. K=4 gives a fourfold step reduction at R-Precision 86.9% and CLIP 0.307. The gains concentrate on hard prompts where single-view distillation collapses, at a measured cost in CLIP-IQA. MV-SDI is drop-in for gradient-based score-distillation pipelines, including Score Distillation via Inversion and plain SDS, and requires no retraining and no multi-view data. Occlusion-Robust Multi-Object Decoupling for Physics-Based Robotic Interaction

We propose a mask-free method for lossless multi-object 3D reconstruction from sparse and occluded real-world views, enabling physically plausible robotic interaction via Material Point Method (MPM) simulation. Our key insight is that object coupling stems from occlusion and limited viewpoints, which we address by formulating multi-object decoupling as a sparse-view reconstruction problem. Using 3D Gaussian Splatting as base representation, we first obtain coarse instance partitions with a SAM2-trained segmentation field. Rather than relying on masks, we reconstruct fragmented geometries by leveraging a joint Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) process, which integrates reference-view supervision with novel-view synthesis guided by 2D and 3D diffusion priors to enforce both texture fidelity and 3D consistency. Furthermore, we incorporate geometry-aware priors such as intra-object and inter-object similarity to regularize geometric reasoning. Experimental results demonstrate that our method produces complete, simulation-ready 3D objects without requiring manual masks, enabling realistic dynamic interactions on both synthetic, robotic and real-world datasets.

Inclusive Interactive Collisions for Multi-View Consistent Compositional 3D Generation

Recent breakthroughs in 3D generation have advanced notably with the development of text-to-image diffusion model. However, existing methods remain two practical challenges: (1) They primarily generate single 3D object, but struggle to generate multi-object compositional 3D assets due to the lack of the modeling for Gaussian primitives in reasonable interactions. (2) They often suffer from cross-view inconsistency during 3D optimization, as Score Distillation Sampling inherently performs on each single view, inevitably resulting in cross-view hallucinations. To solve above issues, we propose I2C-3D, a novel optimization-based method to generate multi-view consistent compositional 3D assets with reasonable interactions. Specifically, we propose an Inclusive Interactive Collisions strategy to guide Gaussian primitives appearing in reasonable interaction regions naturally, thereby ensuring objects in the compositional scene interact in a physically plausible and visually coherent way. Additionally, to enhance multi-view consistency, Multi-View Adaptive Score Distillation Sampling is devised to distill multi-view consistency prior and layout prior from pre-trained diffusion model by modulating attention map of instance token and spatial token across viewpoints. Benefiting from above elaborate designs, I2C-3D not only generates high-fidelity multi-view consistent compositional 3D assets but also supports 3D editing flexibly, facilitating complex scene generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate our I2C-3D outperforms existing methods in generation quality and multi-view consistency.

Single-Line Drawing Generation via Semantics-Driven Optimization

Line drawings are a highly expressive art form that requires the artist to abstract and distill the essence of their subject. We present the first semantics-driven method for automatically generating single-line drawings in vector format, guided either by a text prompt describing the concept or an input image depicting it. Our approach leverages score distillation sampling to optimize the parameters of a uniform rational B-spline (URBS) curve, ensuring that the drawing consists of a single continuous stroke by design. This representation provides fine-grained control over the level of detail, while additional loss terms allow us to steer the final artistic style. We demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art text-to-image models and optimization pipelines for this task, producing results that are both more aesthetically pleasing and more faithful to the style of continuous line drawing artists. Furthermore, because our method generates a vectorized curve, it directly supports downstream fabrication processes such as embroidery, laser engraving and wire bending. Probability-Flow Distillation: Exact Wasserstein Gradient Flow for High-Fidelity 3D Generation

Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) and its variants have been widely used for text-to-3D generation by distilling 2D image diffusion priors. However, the standard SDS objective is prone to severe mode collapse, frequently yielding over-smoothed and over-saturated results. Although recent advancements, such as Score Distillation via Inversion (SDI), mitigate these artifacts and produce visually sharper models, they ultimately fail to faithfully capture the full target distribution. In this work, we show that the bottleneck limiting the sampling capacity of SDI stems from its reliance on the posterior mean estimator, which is mathematically equivalent to a single-step Euler approximation of the deterministic reverse DDIM trajectory. To address this, we propose a naturally motivated extension termed Probability-Flow Distillation (PFD). We establish that PFD corresponds exactly to a Wasserstein gradient flow, thereby inducing principled distribution-matching dynamics. Finally, we show that PFD can synthesize 3D assets with fine-grained, high-fidelity details and achieve improved quality compared to existing methods.

Robust 3D-Masked Part-level Editing in 3D Gaussian Splatting with Regularized Score Distillation Sampling

Recent advances in 3D neural representations and instance-level editing models have enabled the efficient creation of high-quality 3D content. However, achieving precise local 3D edits remains challenging, especially for Gaussian Splatting, due to inconsistent multi-view 2D part segmentations and inherently ambiguous nature of Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) loss. To address these limitations, we propose RoMaP, a novel local 3D Gaussian editing framework that enables precise and drastic part-level modifications. First, we introduce a robust 3D mask generation module with our 3D-Geometry Aware Label Prediction (3D-GALP), which uses spherical harmonics (SH) coefficients to model view-dependent label variations and soft-label property, yielding accurate and consistent part segmentations across viewpoints. Second, we propose a regularized SDS loss that combines the standard SDS loss with additional regularizers. In particular, an L1 anchor loss is introduced via our Scheduled Latent Mixing and Part (SLaMP) editing method, which generates high-quality part-edited 2D images and confines modifications only to the target region while preserving contextual coherence. Additional regularizers, such as Gaussian prior removal, further improve flexibility by allowing changes beyond the existing context, and robust 3D masking prevents unintended edits. Experimental results demonstrate that our RoMaP achieves state-of-the-art local 3D editing on both reconstructed and generated Gaussian scenes and objects qualitatively and quantitatively, making it possible for more robust and flexible part-level 3D Gaussian editing. DLM-One: Diffusion Language Models for One-Step Sequence Generation

This paper introduces DLM-One, a score-distillation-based framework for one-step sequence generation with continuous diffusion language models (DLMs). DLM-One eliminates iterative refinement by aligning the scores of a student model's outputs with the score function of a pretrained teacher DLM in the forward-diffused noisy space. We demonstrate that our framework is architecture-agnostic and robust across diverse continuous manifolds, including standard token embedding spaces and logit simplex spaces. Through experiments on multiple representative DLMs, we show that DLM-One achieves up to ∼\sim2000×\times speedup in sampling steps and ∼\sim500×\times in wall-clock time, while maintaining competitive performance on benchmark text generation tasks. We further analyze failure modes in language-domain diffusion distillation and propose an adversarially-regularized two-stage training scheme to prevent student degeneration. Our findings position one-step score distillation as a viable path for the efficient deployment of continuous diffusion models operating in continuous space for natural language processing.
