Existing 3D foundation models typically align point clouds to frozen vision-language spaces like CLIP, which achieve strong cross-modal retrieval by compressing 3D shape into a global vector. However, this global-only alignment cannot establish fine-grained pixel-to-point correspondence. To solve this, we present Tango3D, a foundation model that unifies dense correspondence and global retrieval. We use a geometry-aware 2D visual backbone and a pretrained 3D VAE to encode images into 2D patches and point clouds into 3D tokens. These are mapped into a single shared space to achieve both local pixel-to-point alignment and global semantic alignment. To stabilize the joint learning of dense and global objectives, we introduce a three-stage progressive training strategy. Experiments show our model successfully achieves object-level pixel-to-point alignment while maintaining competitive global retrieval, a joint capability not offered by existing 3D foundation models. By establishing a fine-grained alignment feature space, Tango3D injects rich semantics into purely geometric 3D tokens, paving the way for a wide range of dense 3D downstream tasks.
Foundation features from self-supervised vision models and text-to-image diffusion models have proven effective for semantic correspondence estimation. However, because these features are learned primarily from 2D image objectives, they lack explicit 3D awareness and often confuse symmetric object sides, repeated parts, and visually similar structures that are distinct in 3D. We introduce a 3D-aware post-training framework that goes beyond available 2D foundation features by incorporating priors from 3D foundation models. Given an image, our method uses SAM3D to estimate object geometry and pose, and refines the pose through render-and-compare optimization. Subsequently, we render PartField descriptors from the reconstructed geometry into the image plane based on the estimated object pose. The resulting geometry-aware feature maps complement DINO and Stable Diffusion features, while geodesic distances on the reconstructed shapes enable reliable filtering of candidate correspondences. We use the filtered matches as supervision to train a lightweight adapter on top of DINO and Stable Diffusion for semantic correspondence. In contrast to prior post-training approaches that require pose annotations and rely on coarse spherical geometry, our method automatically obtains instance-specific 3D structure and uses it to guide correspondence learning. Experiments show that our approach improves semantic correspondence over the prior methods while reducing manual geometric supervision. Unified 3D vision-language systems must combine complementary geometry, scale, and appearance cues while supporting tasks from instance segmentation to language-guided reasoning. Existing methods often process point clouds, voxel grids, and multi-view images independently; directly combining these heterogeneous representations may leave substantial feature discrepancy unresolved, while subsequent unconstrained adaptation may distort their internal geometry. We propose an align-then-fuse framework that first applies triple pairwise cosine alignment to establish segment-level correspondence across the three representations and then retrieves task-conditioned features with a prompt-guided query decoder. Before fusion, representation-specific query features are transformed by learnable mappings constrained to the special orthogonal group. These mappings preserve inner products and Euclidean distances within each representation, permitting controlled representation-specific re-parameterisation without arbitrarily distorting its internal geometry. The transformed features are subsequently combined through Adaptive Fusion under downstream task supervision. Experiments cover eight datasets for instance segmentation, visual grounding, question answering, and dense captioning. Compared with PQ3D, the model improves average precision by 3.2 points on ScanNet200 and grounding accuracy by 2.9, 10.6, 4.6, and 4.1 points on ScanRefer, Nr3D, Sr3D, and Multi3DRefer, respectively, while also improving performance on ScanQA, SQA3D, and Scan2Cap. Ablations further support the complementary roles of alignment and orthogonal re-parameterisation and the effectiveness of Adaptive Fusion.
Visual correspondence across image-to-image (2D-2D), image-to-point cloud (2D-3D), and point cloud-to-point cloud (3D-3D) geometric matching forms the foundation for numerous 3D vision tasks. Despite sharing a similar problem structure, current methods use task-specific designs with separate models for each modality combination. We present UniCorrn, the first correspondence model with shared weights that unifies geometric matching across all three tasks. Our key insight is that Transformer attention naturally captures cross-modal feature similarity. We propose a dual-stream decoder that maintains separate appearance and positional feature streams. This design enables end-to-end learning through stack-able layers while supporting flexible query-based correspondence estimation across heterogeneous modalities. Our architecture employs modality-specific backbones followed by shared encoder and decoder components, trained jointly on diverse data combining pseudo point clouds from depth maps with real 3D correspondence annotations. UniCorrn achieves competitive performance on 2D-2D matching and surpasses prior state-of-the-art by 8% on 7Scenes (2D-3D) and 10% on 3DLoMatch (3D-3D) in registration recall.
