TanGO: Training-Free 3D Editing via Tangent-Space Guidance and Optimization

Authors: Siwoo LimSunjae YoonGwanhyeong KooHyeonseo YunChang D. Yoo

Abstract

While recent flow-matching 3D generative models (e.g., VecSet) adopt structured representations, their tokens share global context, causing conventional training-free editing to suffer from semantic artifacts such as collapsed preserved regions or incomplete transformations. To address this, we propose TanGO, a training-free framework that enables adaptive per-token steering in the tangent space of generative dynamics. To realize this selective control, we formulate a one-step optimal control rule and determine the strength of each token's control signal using a von Mises-Fisher inspired directional discrepancy derived from the source and target velocity fields. Experiments show that TanGO substantially reduces structural artifacts and achieves state-of-the-art performance, outperforming existing 3D editing baselines. UniMoFlow: Grounding Instruction-Driven 3D Human Motion Editing in Generation

Instruction-driven editing of 3D human motion requires precise spatiotemporal localization, rich semantic grounding, and strict preservation of unmodified content. Existing methods either resort to training-free adaptation of generative models or rely solely on triplet supervision; however, adaptation often yields suboptimal control, and manually curated triplet datasets remain severely limited in scale and semantic diversity. To overcome this bottleneck, we ground motion editing directly within text-to-motion generation across data, architecture, and inference. At the data level, we develop a closed-loop synthesis-and-verification pipeline that produces Omni-MoEdit, a large-scale dataset spanning body-part, amplitude, temporal, action, and style edits. At the architectural level, we introduce UniMoFlow, a unified latent flow-matching model that shares broad semantic and kinematic knowledge between generation and editing. At the inference level, SAFE (Source-Anchored Flow Editing) complements UniMoFlow with controllable, source-anchored refinement. Furthermore, we augment standard evaluations with semantics-aware metrics to account for valid edits that inherently deviate from a single ground-truth reference. Extensive experiments demonstrate improved target-text alignment, edit effectiveness, and cycle consistency, while maintaining competitive source fidelity and text-to-motion generation quality.

Native3D: End-to-End 3D Scene Generation via Unified Mesh-Texture Modeling and Semantic Alignment

This paper presents Native3D, the first end-to-end 3D scene generation framework that completely bypasses 2D intermediate representations. Traditional approaches typically require adapting 3D representations to the 2D domain to leverage pre-trained diffusion models, which inevitably introduces domain adaptation issues including geometric structural distortion and texture detail degradation. To address these limitations, we design a unified mesh-texture joint representation that simultaneously models both geometric structures and texture features through a Transformer-based scene encoder, effectively maintaining spatial relationships and visual consistency among objects within scenes. We further propose the 3D Representation Alignment Loss (3D REPA Loss), which employs an improved contrastive learning mechanism to align multi-level semantic representations in the latent space, significantly enhancing geometric and textural fidelity. Experimental results demonstrate that Native3D outperforms existing methods in both generation quality and editing flexibility, providing a novel solution for 3D scene editing.

SK-Adapter: Skeleton-Based Structural Control for Native 3D Generation

Native 3D generative models have achieved remarkable fidelity and speed, yet they suffer from a critical limitation: inability to prescribe precise structural articulations, where precise structural control within the native 3D space remains underexplored. This paper proposes SK-Adapter, a simple yet efficient and effective framework that unlocks precise skeletal manipulation for native 3D generation. Moving beyond text or image prompts, which can be ambiguous for precise structure, we treat the 3D skeleton as a first-class control signal. SK-Adapter is a lightweight structural adapter network that encodes joint coordinates and topology into learnable tokens, which are injected into the frozen 3D generation backbone via cross-attention. This design allows the model to not only effectively ``attend'' to specific 3D structural constraints but also preserve its original generative priors. To bridge the data gap, we contribute the Objaverse-TMS dataset, a large-scale dataset of 24k text-mesh-skeleton pairs. Extensive experiments confirm that our method achieves robust structural control while preserving the geometry and texture quality of the foundation model, significantly outperforming existing baselines. Furthermore, we extend this capability to local 3D editing, enabling region-specific editing of existing assets with skeletal guidance, which is unattainable by previous methods.
