Abstract

Recovering metric 3D geometry from images is fundamentally ill-posed due to perspective projection ambiguity. Current geometry models incorporate supplied or predicted intrinsics during inference, but do not use them to supervise model adaptation. To refine these predictions, test-time adaptation (TTA) typically relies on external depth measurements. In this paper, we instead use camera intrinsics as an output-side geometric verifier. Comparing the point cloud's viewing rays with those defined by the known intrinsics yields a direct measure of geometric inconsistency. We propose IntriAdapt, a TTA framework that minimizes this closed-form geometric residual. By optimizing a lightweight LoRA adapter on a frozen geometry foundation model, our method aligns the prediction with the specific camera model without depth sensors or external priors. We further extend this approach to video sequences, demonstrating that adapting a short sequence generalizes to other sequences captured by the same camera. The adapted model processes held-out images in a feed-forward pass, without repeating optimization for each frame. Experiments on ten single-image and seven sequence benchmarks across multiple base models show that IntriAdapt consistently outperforms both unadapted and oracle-intrinsics baselines in metric accuracy and relative geometry.

Self-Geometry: GT-Free and Plug-and-Play Test-Time Adaptation for Geometrically Consistent 3D Vision Foundation Models

Recent Vision Foundation Models (VFMs) predict depth, camera pose, and pointmap in a single forward pass without per-scene optimization, achieving strong generalization. However, enforcing explicit multi-view geometric consistency, e.g., through bundle adjustment, is computationally costly and is thus not imposed during VFM pretraining, so such inconsistency can arise. To address this, implicit self-consistency derived from model outputs (e.g., pointmaps, features), though enforced at test-time in prior work, delivers inherently limited performance gain, especially on scenes where the pretrained VFM is highly inaccurate. In contrast to this implicit signal, we propose Self-Geometry, a plug-and-play test-time adaptation pipeline that directly imposes explicit multi-view geometric constraints using 2D pixel correspondences as pseudo ground-truth. Our proposed Self-Geometry consists of Geometric Disentanglement Optimization, which combines Multi-View Consistency and Epipolar Consistency losses with Gradient Disentanglement to prevent gradient conflict; Frame Angular-Neighbor, a view sampler based on SO(3) geodesic distances for lightly imposing these constraints; and Lightweight TTA, which adapts VFMs via LoRA. Our method achieves consistent improvements in both pose and geometry estimation across six VFMs (VGGT, π3π^3, DA3-Giant/Large/Base/Small) and four benchmarks (7Scenes, ETH3D, ScanNet++, HiRoom).

FoundationGeo: Learning Spatial Pixel-Wise Fields for Monocular Metric Geometry

We present FoundationGeo, a two-stage framework that explicitly bridges relative and metric prediction via spatial calibration and principled data design. Stage 1 learns a high-fidelity, affine-invariant geometry model by initializing with DINOv3 and training on a curated 10.2M-sample multi-domain corpus with complementary local-detail supervision, yielding sharp boundaries and strong cross-domain generalization. Stage 2 moves beyond global scaling by introducing lightweight pixel-wise calibration fields for metric estimation: a scale field for spatially varying metric alignment and a ray-direction correction field that mitigates directional bias in point-map geometry, together producing metrically consistent 3D point maps. Beyond model design, we identify camera intrinsic coverage, especially focal length distribution mismatch between training and test data, as a key bottleneck for zero-shot metric generalization: performance drops sharply when test intrinsics fall outside the training distribution. To address this, we synthesize additional training data across diverse focal lengths using a Blender-based data engine, repairing under-covered focal regimes and improving robustness under intrinsic shift. Extensive zero-shot evaluations across seven benchmarks show that FoundationGeo significantly strengthens cross-domain robustness, staying near the top across diverse domains while avoiding the sharp cross-domain performance drops observed in other methods. This consistency translates into the best overall performance, surpassing heavier baselines by over 5.2% on average.

Free Geometry: Refining 3D Reconstruction from Longer Versions of Itself

Feed-forward 3D reconstruction models are efficient but rigid: once trained, they perform inference in a zero-shot manner and cannot adapt to the test scene. As a result, visually plausible reconstructions often contain errors, particularly under occlusions, specularities, and ambiguous cues. To address this, we introduce Free Geometry, a framework that enables feed-forward 3D reconstruction models to self-evolve at test time without any 3D ground truth. Our key insight is that, when the model receives more views, it produces more reliable and view-consistent reconstructions. Leveraging this property, given a testing sequence, we mask a subset of frames to construct a self-supervised task. Free Geometry enforces cross-view feature consistency between representations from full and partial observations, while maintaining the pairwise relations implied by the held-out frames. This self-supervision allows for fast recalibration via lightweight LoRA updates, taking less than 2 minutes per dataset on a single GPU. Our approach consistently improves state-of-the-art foundation models, including Depth Anything 3 and VGGT, across 4 benchmark datasets, yielding an average improvement of 3.73% in camera pose accuracy and 2.88% in point map prediction.
