Cognitive Model

Cognitive modeling aims to create computational representations of human cognitive processes, seeking to understand how humans think, learn, and make decisions. Current research emphasizes using large language models (LLMs) and neural networks, often incorporating instance-based learning and other cognitive architectures, to simulate human behavior in various tasks, including decision-making, language processing, and category learning. This work improves AI systems by incorporating human-like reasoning and biases, while simultaneously advancing our understanding of human cognition through rigorous model-based analysis and comparison to human data. The resulting insights have implications for both improving AI's usability and interpretability and furthering our scientific understanding of the human mind.
