Human Robot Teaming
Human-robot teaming (HRT) research focuses on designing effective collaborations between humans and robots, prioritizing trust, efficient communication, and shared autonomy. Current efforts concentrate on developing models that predict and adapt to human trust levels, improve communication through multimodal interfaces (e.g., visual cues generated by large language models), and enhance shared control through Bayesian learning and explainable AI. These advancements aim to improve team performance in diverse applications, from healthcare and manufacturing to search and rescue, by optimizing task allocation and mitigating cognitive load on human operators.
