Industrial Robot Arm
Industrial robot arms are being significantly enhanced to improve safety and efficiency in collaborative human-robot workspaces. Current research focuses on refining robot kinematics to mimic human-like, bell-shaped motion profiles, improving human perception and interaction, and incorporating tactile sensing through textile skins for enhanced feedback and control. These advancements, along with machine learning techniques like Gaussian processes and shallow models for pick success prediction, are driving improvements in robot accuracy, dexterity, and adaptability for tasks such as assembly and large-scale package handling in applications like warehouse automation.
