Intangible Cultural Heritage
Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) research focuses on understanding, preserving, and disseminating aspects of culture not easily codified, such as traditions, practices, and knowledge systems. Current research employs large language models (LLMs) and knowledge graphs to analyze and represent ICH data, often focusing on benchmarking LLM performance across diverse cultures and languages to identify biases and knowledge gaps. This work is significant for improving the accuracy and cultural sensitivity of AI systems and for developing innovative tools to support the documentation, preservation, and education surrounding ICH, ultimately contributing to a more nuanced understanding and appreciation of global cultural diversity.
