Mixed Reality Telepresence
Mixed reality telepresence aims to create immersive, interactive remote experiences by combining virtual representations of remote participants with their real-world environments. Current research focuses on improving the realism and functionality of these experiences, exploring advanced control frameworks for robotic avatars (including autonomous assistance for tasks like drawing), and developing novel 3D-aware neural reenactment methods for highly expressive facial representations in virtual avatars. These advancements are enhancing remote collaboration and communication by enabling more natural and intuitive interactions, with applications ranging from remote work and education to healthcare and entertainment.
