Ontology Design Pattern
Ontology design patterns are reusable solutions to common modeling problems in ontology development, aiming to improve efficiency, consistency, and interoperability of ontologies across diverse domains. Current research focuses on creating and organizing libraries of these patterns, including those derived from large language models and addressing specific modeling challenges like representing roles and names, or handling complex relationships in observational data. This work is significant because it facilitates the creation of higher-quality, more easily shared ontologies, ultimately supporting improved data integration and knowledge representation across various scientific and industrial applications.
