Pose Dependent Deformation
Pose-dependent deformation focuses on accurately modeling how the shape of objects, particularly clothing and human bodies, changes with different poses. Current research emphasizes developing methods that go beyond simple linear transformations, employing techniques like generative models, graph neural networks, and point-based representations to capture complex, realistic deformations, especially for loose-fitting garments. This work is crucial for advancing realistic animation in fields like virtual reality, gaming, and digital fashion, enabling more natural and believable character movements and clothing simulations. Improved accuracy in modeling pose-dependent deformation also benefits applications such as human pose estimation and 3D avatar creation.
