Computed Tomography

Also known as CT

Overview

Computed tomography (CT) research studies how to reconstruct internal structure from X-ray measurements and extract useful clinical or scientific information from scans. Approaches range from physics-based iterative reconstruction and learned unrolling to diffusion and flow-matching priors, CNN and Transformer segmentation, and vision-language systems for image interpretation and reporting. Work spans low-dose, sparse-view, cone-beam, and spectral CT, with evaluations on benchmarks such as AAPM Mayo, LoDoPaB-CT, and CT-RATE as well as multi-center cohorts. A central challenge is balancing speed and image quality with data consistency, anatomical fidelity, robustness across scanners and populations, and clinically meaningful evaluation.
