Abstract

Generating photorealistic novel views from unposed images requires both 3D geometric understanding and the ability to synthesize unseen content. A natural strategy combines feed-forward 3DGS reconstruction with multi-view diffusion. Yet prior pipelines extract at most one signal from the reconstruction, either pixel rendering or learned features, while none exploits per-Gaussian visibility for occlusion-aware reference selection. This information disconnect leaves renderable geometry, visibility cues, and learned features unused. SplatGuide closes this disconnect by reusing a single 3DGS scene across three complementary roles. Rendered images provide pixel-aligned geometric conditioning. Per-Gaussian source-view indices are rendered into a target-view voting map for occlusion-aware reference selection. Reconstruction tokens supply feature-level guidance via cross-attention. All three signals derive from the same reconstruction forward pass. Across RealEstate10K, DL3DV, Tanks-and-Temples, and Mip-NeRF 360, SplatGuide achieves state-of-the-art pose-free novel view synthesis. On RealEstate10K, with a moderate number of input views, it surpasses the ground-truth-pose baseline.

SPFSplatV2: Efficient Self-Supervised Pose-Free 3D Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Views

We introduce SPFSplatV2, an efficient feed-forward framework for 3D Gaussian splatting from sparse multi-view images, requiring no ground-truth poses during training or inference. The framework employs a shared feature extraction backbone to jointly predict 3D Gaussian primitives and camera poses in a canonical space from unposed inputs. To enable efficient and accurate pose estimation, we introduce a masked attention mechanism for target-view pose prediction and a reprojection loss that enforces pixel-aligned Gaussian primitives, providing stronger geometric constraints. We further demonstrate the compatibility of our training framework with different reconstruction architectures, resulting in two model variants. Remarkably, despite the absence of pose supervision, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance in both in-domain and out-of-domain novel view synthesis, even under extreme viewpoint changes and limited image overlap. It also surpasses many methods that rely on geometric supervision in relative pose estimation. By eliminating dependence on ground-truth poses, our method offers the scalability to leverage larger and more diverse datasets. GAPS: Generative Active Pseudo-view Selection for Sparse-View 3D Gaussian Splatting

Novel view synthesis from sparse observations is severely under-constrained. Although 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) enables real-time rendering, it produces floaters, broken geometry, and washed-out backgrounds when trained with few views. We propose an alternating optimization framework that uses a pre-trained image diffusion model to generate geometrically consistent pseudo-views for additional 3DGS supervision. Generation is constrained by depth-conditioned ControlNet, IP-Adapter style transfer, LoRA scene adaptation, and img2img structural anchoring. We introduce Generative Active Pseudo-view Selection (GAPS) to balance reconstruction informativeness and generative reliability when choosing target views. Its annealing schedule shifts from conservative interpolation early in training to exploratory extrapolation later, gradually covering unobserved regions. A dual-criterion admission gate and uncertainty-weighted losses reject unreliable generations, while density-adaptive DropGaussian reduces overfitting in complex scenes. On LLFF with 3/6/9 views, our method improves average PSNR over vanilla 3DGS by 0.40/0.89/0.70 dB. On Mip-NeRF 360 with 12/24 views, the gains are 1.18/0.80 dB. SSIM improves and LPIPS decreases in every setting. Ablations show that active selection and density-adaptive regularization are both necessary; only the full method reduces LPIPS below the no-pseudo-view baseline on unbounded 360-degree scenes.

GlobalSplat: Efficient Feed-Forward 3D Gaussian Splatting via Global Scene Tokens

The efficient spatial allocation of primitives serves as the foundation of 3D Gaussian Splatting, as it directly dictates the synergy between representation compactness, reconstruction speed, and rendering fidelity. Previous solutions, whether based on iterative optimization or feed-forward inference, suffer from significant trade-offs between these goals, mainly due to the reliance on local, heuristic-driven allocation strategies that lack global scene awareness. Specifically, current feed-forward methods are largely pixel-aligned or voxel-aligned. By unprojecting pixels into dense, view-aligned primitives, they bake redundancy into the 3D asset. As more input views are added, the representation size increases and global consistency becomes fragile. To this end, we introduce GlobalSplat, a framework built on the principle of align first, decode later. Our approach learns a compact, global, latent scene representation that encodes multi-view input and resolves cross-view correspondences before decoding any explicit 3D geometry. Crucially, this formulation enables compact, globally consistent reconstructions without relying on pretrained pixel-prediction backbones or reusing latent features from dense baselines. Utilizing a coarse-to-fine training curriculum that gradually increases decoded capacity, GlobalSplat natively prevents representation bloat. On RealEstate10K and ACID, our model achieves competitive novel-view synthesis performance while utilizing as few as 16K Gaussians, significantly less than required by dense pipelines, obtaining a light 4MB footprint. Further, GlobalSplat enables significantly faster inference than the baselines, operating under 78 milliseconds in a single forward pass.
