Abstract

Computing accurate geometry from multi-view images is a fundamental problem in computer vision. Recent feed-forward (FF) models jointly estimate 3D geometry and camera parameters, but they typically suffer from geometry distortion caused by reconstruction ambiguity, even when ground-truth camera parameters are supplied. In this paper, we study the multi-view stereo (MVS) problem with known camera parameters and propose a novel approach that bridges conventional MVS and FF methods. Rather than casting MVS as a sequence-to-one mapping that predicts depth only for a single reference view, we reformulate it as a sequence-to-sequence task, akin to FF models, that jointly predicts geometry for all input views. We introduce a global transformer-based architecture with two components that explicitly exploit camera-induced priors: ray-map embeddings that inject camera parameters into image patch tokens, making the transformer camera-aware, and a unified global cost volume that replaces conventional per-view cost volumes to jointly capture 3D structure across all views. Extensive experiments on multiple public benchmarks show our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance, surpassing both MVS and FF reconstruction baselines.

Déjà View: Looping Transformers for Multi-View 3D Reconstruction

Recent feed-forward 3D reconstruction transformers have scaled to over a billion parameters, following the broader trend of increasing model capacity in computer vision. Yet emerging evidence suggests that contiguous transformer layers often behave like repeated applications of similar operations, and multi-view reconstruction transformers refine their predictions progressively across decoder depth. We posit that model depth partially buys iteration, paid for inefficiently in unique parameters, and instead make that iteration explicit in architecture. Our model, DéjàView, applies a single looped transformer block recurrently to per-view features for K refinement steps. Trained once, it exposes K as an inference-time compute knob, matching or outperforming substantially larger feed-forward baselines across five reconstruction benchmarks spanning indoor, outdoor, object-centric, and driving scenes, while using a fraction of their parameters and comparable or lower compute. Importantly, the same looped block formulation outperforms an otherwise identical variant with independent per-step parameters under matched training data and compute, suggesting that explicit iteration is not merely a compute-efficient substitute for capacity but a stronger inductive bias for multi-view 3D reconstruction.

LiteMVS: Efficient Multi-View Stereo with Foundation Distillation and Expert Aggregation

Real-time 3D perception is crucial for robotics, augmented reality, and embodied intelligence applications. Existing multi-view stereo (MVS) methods primarily rely on geometric correspondences, which often fail in textureless or repetitive regions, while monocular depth models leverage strong image-level priors but lack robust multi-view geometric constraints. More importantly, in robotics and embodied manipulation scenarios, high-quality 3D geometry is not only essential for static reconstruction, but also serves as a critical foundation for learning temporally consistent 4D representations. To obtain visual representations with stronger structural awareness and greater potential for spatiotemporal extension, we present LiteMVS, a lightweight multi-view depth estimation model that integrates plane-sweep geometric reasoning with strong monocular semantic and structural priors. The central idea of LiteMVS is to efficiently inject high-level monocular knowledge, obtained from lightweight segmentation models and large-scale vision foundation models, into a multi-view stereo framework. In particular, LiteMVS enriches the cost volume with semantic descriptors and employs a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) formulation to enable adaptive geometric aggregation across depth hypotheses. Moreover, geometric priors distilled from vision foundation models further strengthen monocular guidance without increasing inference cost. Through this design, LiteMVS not only improves depth estimation and 3D reconstruction quality in static scenes, but also provides a more reliable geometric foundation for subsequent temporal modeling and 4D representation learning. Experiments on ScanNetv2 and 7-Scenes demonstrate that LiteMVS achieves high-quality depth prediction and 3D reconstruction while maintaining competitive efficiency.

Glob3R: Global Structure-from-Motion with 3D Foundation Models

Recent 3D geometric foundation models, such as VGGT, provide robust feed-forward 3D reconstruction by directly predicting camera poses and 3D scene points from input images. However, their results remain inaccurate, and scaling them to long sequences or large unordered image sets typically requires chunk-wise processing, which can introduce drift and inconsistency. We present Glob3R, a global SfM-style reconstruction built on 3D foundation models. Our key idea is to explicitly optimize feed-forward geometric predictions. To this end, we augment a frozen Pi3X backbone with a lightweight dense matching head that predicts image warps between selected reference frames and neighboring views. These dense warps are converted into sparse but reliable multi-view feature tracks, which provide correspondence constraints for global optimization. We further introduce a keyframe-based sliding-window association strategy that propagates tracks and relative poses across overlapping windows, enabling scalable reconstruction. Finally, we perform global motion averaging and bundle adjustment to refine camera poses, reduce scale inconsistencies, and recover dense scene geometry. Extensive experiments on indoor, outdoor, large-scale driving, and unordered SfM benchmarks demonstrate that Glob3R achieves robust and accurate reconstruction. It consistently improves over feed-forward foundation-model baselines and recent scalable reconstruction methods, while being more robust than classical SfM pipelines. The refined poses also lead to higher-quality neural rendering, validating the benefit of combining foundation-model priors with global geometric optimization.
