Proximity Sensor
Proximity sensors are devices that measure the distance to nearby objects without physical contact, finding applications across diverse fields like robotics and agriculture. Current research emphasizes integrating proximity sensor data with advanced algorithms, such as deep convolutional neural networks and particle filtering, to improve tasks like object pose estimation, environmental mapping, and disease detection in crops. This work is significant because it enhances the capabilities of robots for delicate manipulation and human-robot interaction, while also enabling more efficient and precise agricultural practices. The development of novel sensor designs, including flexible and multimodal sensors, further expands the applicability and robustness of proximity sensing technologies.
