User Radicalization

User radicalization research investigates how individuals adopt increasingly extreme beliefs and behaviors online, focusing on understanding the underlying mechanisms and predicting such shifts. Current research employs agent-based models to simulate group dynamics and the influence of authority responses, alongside computational linguistic techniques like lexicon development and natural language processing to analyze online communication patterns within radicalized communities. This work is crucial for developing effective strategies to mitigate online extremism and hate speech, informing content moderation policies and interventions aimed at preventing violence and promoting constructive online dialogue.
