Volumetric Head Avatar
Volumetric head avatars are realistic 3D models of human heads, aiming to capture fine-grained details and dynamic facial expressions for applications like AR/VR and video conferencing. Current research focuses on improving the efficiency and realism of avatar creation from single images or videos, employing neural radiance fields and point-based representations often guided by parametric face models to achieve photorealism and accurate expression control. These advancements are significantly impacting fields requiring high-fidelity digital humans, enabling faster and more accurate avatar generation with improved handling of challenging facial features.
