Seg3DParts: Segmentation-Grounded Controllable Part-Level 3D Generation

Part-level 3D assets are essential for editing, reassembly, and interaction, yet recovering such structure from a single image remains challenging due to occlusion, ambiguous boundaries, and the need for coherent multi-part reasoning. Existing approaches struggle to achieve both controllable part-level generation and coherent multi-part structure, as part identity and spatial allocation are typically inferred implicitly. We present Seg3DParts, a segmentation-grounded framework for controllable part-level 3D generation from a single image. By treating segmentation as an explicit grounding signal, our method defines part identity during generation, enabling each component to be anchored to a corresponding image region. To ensure coherent assemblies, we introduce structured cross-part interaction that allows components to exchange global context throughout the generative process. As a result, Seg3DParts directly generates well-aligned part meshes in a shared canonical space without post-hoc alignment, supporting flexible and controllable decomposition. We further introduce PartObjectNet, a large-scale dataset with over 200K objects and 1M annotated parts. Experiments demonstrate that Seg3DParts achieves superior geometry quality, cross-part coherence, and part-level controllability over existing methods.

KaiNinja: Extending Native 3D Generators to the Part Level

Native 3D generators turn one image into a single mesh. TRELLIS.2 and its peers deliver high-fidelity non-watertight geometry with materials, but the output is one fused object, while downstream work such as editing, rigging and simulation operates on part-level assets. A naive idea is to run a 3D segmentation network on the fused mesh that TRELLIS.2 generates, but such pipelines are slow and bounded by the accuracy of the segmentation. We want a simple way to extend an existing native 3D generator to the part level. But we face a critical problem: the O-Voxel grid stores one sheet of surface per voxel, so a single volume cannot represent the interface where two parts touch, at any resolution. We introduce a dual-volume representation to solve this problem and put forward KaiNinja, a part-level extension of TRELLIS.2 built on a dual-volume form of its O-Voxel representation. KaiNinja keeps the generation speed and quality of TRELLIS.2 while extending it to the part level, with no mask or segmenter in the pipeline. Its training data come from sources of many kinds, including CAD models and assets authored by an LLM-driven agent; to our knowledge it is the first 3D generative model trained on agent-authored part data. Surprisingly, we also find that whole-object fidelity improves over the same backbone fine-tuned on the same dataset. Against part generation pipelines of different paradigms, it lowers whole-object Chamfer distance by 40% and raises strict part F-score by 16%.

SAM3D-Part: Interactive Part Selection and Generation from 3D Objects

Part-level control is essential for modern 3D asset creation, where objects are frequently edited, reused, animated, or fabricated through their individual components. In many such workflows, users need only several specific components rather than a complete object decomposition. However, existing 3D generation methods produce all parts regardless of user intent, while promptable 3D segmentation methods typically output partial surfaces instead of reusable complete meshes. In addition, image-conditioned part generators further struggle to preserve hidden geometry and accurate placement without directly conditioning on the source mesh. To address these problems, we present SAM3D-Part, a prompt-driven framework for selective part generation from input 3D object meshes. Given a source mesh and a part prompt, SAM3D-Part first encodes the source geometry into compact mesh features and aligns them with the rendered image, selective mask, and point-map observations via pixel-wise channel fusion. The fused representation conditions a feed-forward generative model to produce only the queried component as a completed mesh. To place the generated part back into the source coordinate frame, SAM3D-Part predicts dense per-voxel correspondences and estimates the part transformation from distributed spatial evidence rather than a single global pose code. For sequential multi-part queries, previously generated parts are stored in a part cache and reused as contextual constraints, reducing conflicts among independently requested components. Extensive experiments and ablations demonstrate that SAM3D-Part can significantly improve source alignment, reduce conditioning cost, and enable consistent selective part generation, achieving state-of-the-art. Code and weights will be available at https://github.com/Jiahao620/sam3d-part.

SNAP3D: Physically Grounded 3D Parts for Assembly from a Single Image

Part-aware 3D asset generation enables applications such as editing, articulation, simulation, and fabrication, yet existing methods can generate visually complete individual parts without ensuring that they form a valid physical assembly. Consequently, generated neighboring parts may interpenetrate, lack valid connections, or collapse under gravity. We propose a physics-guided framework for improving single-image part-aware 3D generation with physically compatible geometry and stable connections. Our method resolves inter-part penetration, recovers a contact graph between neighboring parts, and introduces parameterized connectors at their contact surfaces. Using feedback from physical simulation, we refine connector placement, orientation, and dimensions to improve assembly stability while preserving the generated geometry. We further introduce a physics-based evaluation protocol that complements conventional geometric metrics by directly testing assembly validity and stability under gravity. Experiments comparing against multiple part-aware 3D generators show substantial improvements in physical realizability and stability while maintaining geometric quality. We additionally validate the resulting parts through 3D printing and real-world assembly.

VisCAD: A Foundation Model Suite with Multimodal Industrial CAD Intelligence

AI-assisted computer-aided design (CAD) for industrial products involves two challenging phases. Part-level generation maps diverse forms of user intent, including renders, text descriptions, 2D drawings, and real photographs, to executable programs in a CAD domain-specific language. Assembly-level generation must additionally handle interacting parts, plan mating relations, estimate poses, and place all parts correctly. Existing specialized CAD models are commonly trained on narrow input domains, such as renders or texts, and often generalize poorly, while general-purpose frontier models cover broader inputs but perform inconsistently across CAD domains. We present VisCAD, a foundation model suite designed to provide both broad generalization and strong CAD capability for realistic industrial products. At its core is VisCAD-M1, a 27B model trained through mid-training and post-training for part-level design generation. On PubCADBench and RealCADBench, VisCAD-M1 achieves the highest average part-level score among the evaluated models, reaching 0.5540 compared with 0.5496 for the strongest frontier model. Reusing VisCAD-M1 as a test-time verifier can further raise the score to 0.5797, an approximately 5 percent relative improvement over the previous state of the art. VisCAD also includes a domain-specific harness that leverages frontier models for complex assembly generation and demonstrates advantages over general-purpose harnesses in both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.

SCULPT: Subtractive Composition for 3D Part Generation

Part-aware 3D generation aims to create digital assets that are coherent as complete objects while exposing structural parts for editing, material assignment, animation, and reuse. Existing methods impose this structure outside the native generation loop: segmentation-based methods partition an already generated shape, while additive methods synthesize parts from predefined layouts, boxes, or tokens and then reconcile them into a whole. The former preserves the generated geometry but fixes the object before part boundaries are determined; the latter exposes part cardinality but often leaves shared boundaries vulnerable to gaps, interpenetrations, and material discontinuities. In this paper, we propose SCULPT, a framework that addresses these challenges through subtractive composition. Given a complete object represented in a structured 3D latent space, SCULPT iteratively applies a joint split predictor to generate one extracted part together with the remaining object. The predictor performs a coupled denoising process conditioned on both the image and the current 3D state, so the extracted part and updated remainder are generated together rather than reconciled after generation. The joint split predictor processes both outputs on the union of their native sparse 3D supports, allowing neighboring supports to overlap rather than imposing a disjoint voxel partition. The rollout ends when the remainder support becomes empty or reaches a fixed safety cap, allowing the number of generated parts to adapt to each object within that bound. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art geometry on PartObjaverse while preserving strong complete-object reconstruction after part assembly. Results on four dataset images, one text-to-image-generated input, and one real-world photograph further show fine-grained textured part decomposition beyond the benchmark.

PhysX-CoT: Structured Physical Reasoning from a Single Image to Simulation-Ready 3D Assets

Simulation-ready 3D assets are central to robotics and embodied AI. Generating them from a single image is usually framed as a vision-language model that emits a serialized asset for a decoder to turn into geometry and physical fields, leaving the image-to-3D reasoning implicit. We argue the limiting factor is this output-centric view: part placement and local shape are entangled in one global-coordinate token stream, and the intermediate physical states are never exposed for supervision, conditioning, or verification. PhysX-CoT instead casts single-image asset generation as an explicit structured physical reasoning process, an ordered and machine-parseable trajectory of part-level states covering decomposition, 2D and 3D grounding, relations, coarse geometry, and surface cues that we separately supervise, use to condition geometry, and treat as reward targets. Geometry is factorized so that 3D boxes carry placement and local codes carry shape, and CoT-aligned GRPO optimizes parse validity, grounding, geometry, placement, and physical consistency. Under a unified protocol that retrains all learned baselines on the same backbone, data, and frozen decoder, PhysX-CoT outperforms the closest full-task baseline across geometry, scale, and physical-attribute metrics. Oracle, token-matched, and state-order controls show the explicit states are functional rather than cosmetic, and in Unreal Engine~5 the generated assets parse, collide, and articulate at high validity.

Hunyuan3D-Buffalo 1.0: A Unified Multimodal Model for Scalable 3D Generation, Understanding, and Editing

Recent advances in image generation have demonstrated the potential of unified multimodal models that integrate understanding, generation, and editing. However, unified 3D modeling remains constrained by scarce multimodal data, particularly the lack of large-scale and geometrically consistent editing data. To address this limitation, we propose Hunyuan3D-Buffalo 1.0, a unified framework supporting 3D understanding, text-to-3D generation, instruction-guided 3D editing, and text-grounded part generation within a single architecture. To enable scalable training, we construct an 87M-scale 3D multimodal corpus, comprising 25M understanding samples, 50M text-to-3D pairs, and 12M editing pairs generated using Nano3D-v2. Architecturally, the framework combines Hunyuan3D-VLM for semantic, structural, and spatial understanding with Hunyuan3D DiT for high-fidelity 3D synthesis. The VLM provides multimodal semantic conditions for generation, while editing and part generation additionally condition the diffusion process on the source object representation to preserve its overall structure and unedited regions. Extensive experiments show that Hunyuan3D-Buffalo 1.0 achieves state-of-the-art or leading performance on text-to-3D generation and 3D editing benchmarks, while exhibiting strong understanding and part-generation capabilities. Our analysis further shows that both generation and understanding improve editing, demonstrating the effectiveness of unified 3D multimodal training. PartMat: Material-Aware 3D Part Decomposition with a Single Global Latent

Part-level 3D generation has recently attracted increasing attention for producing structured and editable 3D assets. However, existing methods typically decompose objects according to functional semantics rather than the editable material boundaries (e.g., fabric, wood, metal) required in practical 3D applications such as interior design. Additionally, current methods often generate parts independently, causing computational costs to scale linearly with the part count. To address these limitations, we present PartMat, an efficient material-aware 3D part decomposition pipeline that represents multi-part geometry with a single global latent. Given a reference image and a single whole-object geometry, PartMat decomposes the object into parts that follow material boundaries. First, we propose PartVAE to learn such a unified representation and decode all material parts in a single forward pass, thereby decoupling inference cost from the number of parts. Second, with this representation, a diffusion model is trained for part generation and refined via reinforcement learning for accurate material assignment and overlap suppression. Finally, to recover fine-grained geometric details, we introduce a sparse-voxel flow-matching model with part attention for geometry post-processing. Extensive experiments demonstrate that PartMat significantly outperforms existing baselines in material-aware decomposition accuracy and achieves comparable geometric quality, while maintaining efficient inference.

PWM-ArtGen: Part World Model for Articulated Object Generation

The key challenge in articulated 3D object generation from a single image is accurately predicting the underlying kinematic structure. Existing methods either infer kinematic parameters directly from a static image that lacks dynamic part-level kinematic relationships, or estimate parameters from visual dynamics generated from a single image, which is prone to accumulated errors of two steps. Moreover, the limited scale and diversity of existing annotated datasets further hinder generalization to complex, real-world objects. To overcome these limitations, we propose to learn the joint distribution of visual dynamics and kinematic parameters. Recognizing that articulated objects can be formulated as dynamic systems, we propose a unified Part World Model called PWM-ArtGen. To leverage unannotated data, this model couples action diffusion and image diffusion with independent diffusion timesteps, which enables visual branch co-training. We further curate a photorealistic dataset of 19.7k part-level image pairs without kinematic annotations, to support co-training. Experiments demonstrate that PWM-ArtGen substantially outperforms existing baselines in the resting state and exhibits strong zero-shot generalization to out-of-distribution objects.

ISAP-3D: Identity-Slot Aligned Part-Aware 3D Generation

Part-aware 3D generation aims to synthesize structured objects with semantically meaningful components, yet often suffers from structural ambiguity due to identity-layout entanglement. Existing methods either infer part identity and spatial layout implicitly, which can lead to unstable part allocation (e.g., slot swapping or part merging), or rely on strong layout conditions that are difficult to obtain in practice. We attribute this ambiguity to identity-slot permutation freedom: without explicit identity-slot alignment, the correspondence between semantic parts and generation slots is not identifiable during training, allowing multiple slot assignments to fit the same supervision and leading to inconsistent decomposition. Based on this insight, we argue that stable part-aware generation requires identity-aligned one-to-one slot modelling. We therefore propose an identity-slot aligned framework, ISAP-3D, which anchors each part with semantic identity tokens and performs identity-conditioned one-to-one layout prediction, followed by layout-conditioned geometry synthesis. Structured local-global conditioning maintains identity alignment across semantic, spatial, and geometric stages. We also construct a part-level dataset with a unified semantic protocol to enable learnable and consistent identity-slot alignment. Extensive experiments demonstrate improved structural stability, controllability, and robustness over state-of-the-art part-aware generation baselines.

P3D-Bench: Benchmarking MLLMs for Parametric 3D Generation and Structural Reasoning

Multimodal large language models can write code to produce complex programs as well as use programs to do 3D modeling, which opens up a new avenue for 3D generation powered by their priors, world knowledge and reasoning. Yet existing benchmarks rarely evaluate 3D modeling through code. Such modeling demands more than runnable code: from a text or visual specification, a model must generate a parametric 3D program that is geometrically precise, semantically aligned and assembly-consistent. We introduce P3D-Bench, a benchmark for parametric 3D generation. Unlike a 3D mesh, a parametric 3D program exposes explicit dimensions, construction operations and part relations, revealing whether a model recovers a design's structure, not just its appearance. Under a unified protocol, P3D-Bench covers three task families (Text-to-3D, Image-to-3D and Assembly-3D) and scores each output for executability, geometric fidelity, topology, text-grounded constraints, multiview semantic alignment and part-level structure. We evaluate frontier MLLMs and text-only LLMs on 400 text cases, 400 image cases and 203 annotated assemblies, with domain-specific models as reference points. Our extensive evaluation yields three findings. First, assemblies are the hardest setting, where models still fail to compose multiple parts into a coherent structure. Second, models can often recover the global shape and semantic identity of the target object, yet fail to reproduce the precise parametric geometry specified by the input. Third, part-level modeling remains weak on assemblies, where models recover neither the geometry of each part nor the right number of parts. These results position P3D-Bench as a benchmark for evaluating precise parametric geometry and part-level structure in parametric 3D generation.

CubePart: An Open-Vocabulary Part-Controllable 3D Generator

Interactive 3D assets used in games and simulation are typically decomposed into specific semantic parts to support animation, physics, and scripted behaviors, yet most generative 3D models produce either monolithic meshes or arbitrary part decompositions that cannot be aligned with application-specific requirements. We present CubePart, a generative framework for open-vocabulary, part-controllable 3D mesh generation that exposes part structure as an explicit inference-time control signal. Given a global text prompt and a user-defined parts schema expressed as an open-ended list of part names, our method generates a set of meshes - one per schema element - that assemble into a coherent object while respecting the specified semantic structure. To enable this capability, we introduce a scalable data pipeline to construct a large open-vocabulary, part-labeled 3D dataset, along with a two-stage generative architecture that separates global shape synthesis from part-level decoding. We demonstrate that the resulting assets can be directly integrated into game engines and driven by animation and behavior scripts without manual post-processing. DreamPartGen: Semantically Grounded Part-Level 3D Generation via Collaborative Latent Denoising

Understanding and generating 3D objects as compositions of meaningful parts is fundamental to human perception and reasoning. However, most text-to-3D methods overlook the semantic and functional structure of parts. While recent part-aware approaches introduce decomposition, they remain largely geometry-focused, lacking semantic grounding and failing to model how parts align with textual descriptions or their inter-part relations. We propose DreamPartGen, a framework for semantically grounded, part-aware text-to-3D generation. DreamPartGen introduces Duplex Part Latents (DPLs) that jointly model each part's geometry and appearance, and Relational Semantic Latents (RSLs) that capture inter-part dependencies derived from language. A synchronized co-denoising process enforces mutual geometric and semantic consistency, enabling coherent, interpretable, and text-aligned 3D synthesis. Across multiple benchmarks, DreamPartGen delivers state-of-the-art performance in geometric fidelity and text-shape alignment.
