Echo-CoPilot: A Multiple-Perspective Agentic Framework for Reliable Echocardiography Interpretation

Echocardiography interpretation requires integrating multi-view temporal evidence with quantitative measurements and guideline-grounded reasoning, yet existing foundation-model pipelines largely solve isolated subtasks and fail when tool outputs are noisy or values fall near clinical cutoffs. We propose Echo-CoPilot, an end-to-end agentic framework that combines a multi-perspective workflow with knowledge-graph-guided measurement selection. Echo-CoPilot runs three independent ReAct-style agents, structural, pathological, and quantitative, that invoke specialized echocardiography tools to extract parameters while querying EchoKG to determine which measurements are required for the clinical question and which should be avoided. A self-contrast language model then compares the evidence-grounded perspectives, generates a discrepancy checklist, and re-queries EchoKG to apply the appropriate guideline thresholds and resolve conflicts, reducing hallucinated measurement selection and borderline flip-flops. On MIMICEchoQA, Echo-CoPilot provides higher accuracy compared to SOTA baselines and, under a stochasticity stress test, achieves higher reliability through more consistent conclusions and fewer answer changes across repeated runs. Reliable Selection of Heterogeneous Treatment Effect Estimators

We study the problem of selecting the best heterogeneous treatment effect (HTE) estimator from a collection of candidates in settings where the treatment effect is fundamentally unobserved. We cast estimator selection as a multiple testing problem and introduce a ground-truth-free procedure based on a cross-fitted, exponentially weighted test statistic. A key component of our method is a two-way sample splitting scheme that decouples nuisance estimation from weight learning and ensures the stability required for valid inference. Leveraging a stability-based central limit theorem, we establish asymptotic familywise error rate control under mild regularity conditions. Empirically, our procedure provides reliable error control while substantially reducing false selections compared with commonly used methods across ACIC 2016, IHDP, and Twins benchmarks, demonstrating that our method is feasible and powerful even without ground-truth treatment effects.

How Reliable are Fairness Audits with Unreliable Data?

Fairness audits are a key component of responsible machine-learning deployment. Yet, audit-recommendation reliability under incomplete protected-label access is still poorly understood. In this work, we focused on protected-label missingness in fairness mitigation audits. We introduced a seed-calibrated stress test to separate missingness effects from seed-to-seed movement already present under complete labels. Across ACS/Folktables tasks, missingness settings that retain some protected labels usually do not move selected mitigation methods beyond a complete-label seed-to-seed baseline. At 00% protected-label access, candidates collapse to an empirical-risk-minimization baseline and deterministic tie-breaking rather than revealing a broad missingness effect. We also found that threshold optimization can turn fairness gains on a single protected axis into intersectional harm above a seed baseline, and this threshold-optimizer finding persists under random-forest validation. Overall, our results highlight that protected-label missingness should be reported with seed-null calibration, candidate-set context, and intersectional consequences before it is treated as evidence of audit fragility.

Restricted Bernoulli Matrix Factorization: Balancing the trade-off between prediction accuracy and coverage in classification based collaborative filtering

Reliability measures associated with the prediction of the machine learning models are critical to strengthening user confidence in artificial intelligence. Therefore, those models that provide not only predictions, but also reliability, enjoy greater popularity. In the field of recommender systems, reliability is crucial, since users tend to prefer those recommendations that are sure to interest them, that is, high predictions with high reliabilities. In this paper, we propose Restricted Bernoulli Matrix Factorization (ResBeMF), a new algorithm aimed at enhancing the performance of classification-based collaborative filtering. This model is based on a collection of restricted matrix factorizations that jointly generate, for each user-item pair, a full probability distribution over the possible rating scores. To prove its effectiveness, the proposed model has been compared to other existing solutions in the literature in terms of prediction quality (Mean Absolute Error and accuracy scores), prediction quantity (coverage score) and recommendation quality (Mean Average Precision score). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model provides a good balance in terms of the quality measures used compared to other recommendation models.
