Abstract

Object-level geometric edits, including translating, rotating, scaling, duplicating, or removing an object, are routine operations in digital content creation (DCC) workflows, yet they remain unreliable in generative video editing. The key challenge lies in specifying the target object's 3D state change unambiguously across viewpoint and time, while consistently updating geometry-dependent secondary effects such as shadows and reflections. We introduce GIVE, a geometry-instructed video editing framework that represents edits through a unified object-state formulation. Two video-aligned geometry streams describe the target object before and after editing: a depth-box encoding coarse 3D placement and extent, and an orientation-box providing an appearance-agnostic orientation cue. Together, these streams provide a compact pre/post geometric specification for object-state transitions. To provide paired supervision for learning these edits, we build a scalable graphics-engine pipeline that executes object-level edit programs and renders controlled before/after pairs, isolating the intended geometric edit while keeping secondary effects consistent with the transformation. Experimental results demonstrate that GIVE produces faithful geometric edits with temporal coherence and consistent secondary effects across operators in a unified framework, and shows promising transfer to in-the-wild videos. GeoEdit: Geometry-Aware Object Editing via Dual-Branch Denoising

Precisely manipulating objects in a single photograph (translation, rotation, scaling) while obeying 3D physical constraints remains unsolved for diffusion-based editors. Current 2D methods lack spatial awareness and produce perspective violations. Forcing structural proxies into the latent space also disrupts variance homogeneity, and the resulting self-attention leakage leads to ghosting and background blur. The core difficulty is asymmetric: the relocated object must follow a rigid geometry, yet the uncovered background needs freedom to synthesize plausible content. We present GeoEdit, a training-free Lift-Manipulate-Render-Denoise pipeline that satisfies both constraints. We decouple scene and object in 3D, align them through point correspondence, and render a geometry-aligned proxy with a structural depth map. A Dual-Branch Denoising stage then refines this proxy: a video diffusion backbone preserves object identity, while 3D constraints are injected into the foreground within a narrow denoising window at matching noise variance (variance-homogeneous injection). The background denoises freely. Because the injected signal matches the native latent statistics, self-attention stays undisturbed. We also introduce GeoEditBench, a pose-aware benchmark covering object translation, object rotation, and camera movement with pose-aware evaluation metrics. Experiments confirm consistent gains in geometric accuracy, identity fidelity, and background quality. Our codes are available at https://github.com/Heey731/GeoEdit.

AlbedoEdit: Unified Instance-Level Video Editing with Albedo Guidance

Video generative models have achieved remarkable progress in synthesizing photorealistic video sequences. However, enabling broader and more creative downstream applications requires fine-grained instance-level video editing, including object insertion, object removal, and texture editing, which has emerged as a prominent yet challenging problem. Existing approaches either propose unified generative frameworks with only coarse semantic control, or design task-specific frameworks for individual editing tasks, limiting their flexibility and applicability across diverse real-world scenarios. To address these limitations, we propose AlbedoEdit, a unified generative video editing framework that jointly supports object insertion, object removal, and texture editing. Our key insight is that the intrinsic albedo map, which is invariant to lighting and contains no specularity, shadowing and inter-reflection effects, provides an effective and user-friendly mechanism for specifying fine-grained appearance edits. Built upon video foundation models, AlbedoEdit is fine-tuned to translate source RGB videos into edited RGB videos, conditioned on a user-edited first-frame albedo. Trained on a new paired synthetic dataset covering all three editing tasks, AlbedoEdit implicitly learns to harmonize edited contents and simulate complex real-world visual effects triggered by editing operations, including specular highlights, soft shadows, and mirror reflections. AlbedoEdit demonstrates superior performance over state-of-the-art video editing approaches, both qualitatively and quantitatively. CoT-Edit: Let CoT Guide Instruction Video Editing

Text-driven instruction-based video editing in complex scenes remains challenging: purely textual prompts often fail to capture precise spatial relationships and physical constraints, resulting in target ambiguity and physically implausible outcomes. To address this, we propose a plan--guide--edit framework that explicitly bridges semantic intent and spatial execution. In our framework, a Chain-of-Thought (CoT)-enhanced multimodal large language model (MLLM) serves as a planner, performing structured reasoning over the video and instructions to derive a precise sequence of bounding boxes and attribute-enriched editing directives. These spatial priors then guide a box-conditioned mask generator, transforming ambiguous global retrieval into localized, context-aware refinement and producing masks that more accurately capture object scale, contact relationships, and placement. Building on these spatial and semantic signals, a diffusion-based editor integrates the masks, enriched instructions, and frame features to render high-fidelity edits that remain temporally coherent and spatially well aligned. Trained first in a modular manner and then jointly, our framework achieves superior performance with reduced data requirements, delivering precise localization in scenes with multiple similar objects and physically consistent object additions, and extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance over multiple strong baseline methods.
