Learning Stochastic Bridges for Video Object Removal via Video-to-Video Translation

Existing video object removal methods predominantly rely on diffusion models following a noise-to-data paradigm, where generation starts from uninformative Gaussian noise. This approach discards the rich structural and contextual priors present in the original input video. Consequently, such methods often lack sufficient guidance, leading to incomplete object erasure or the synthesis of implausible content that conflicts with the scene's physical logic. In this paper, we reformulate video object removal as a video-to-video translation task via a stochastic bridge model. Unlike noise-initialized methods, our framework establishes a direct stochastic path from the source video (with objects) to the target video (objects removed). This bridge formulation effectively leverages the input video as a strong structural prior, guiding the model to perform precise removal while ensuring that the filled regions are logically consistent with the surrounding environment. To address the trade-off where strong bridge priors hinder the removal of large objects, we propose a novel adaptive mask modulation strategy. This mechanism dynamically modulates input embeddings based on mask characteristics, balancing background fidelity with generative flexibility. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing methods in both visual quality and temporal consistency. The project page is https://bridgeremoval.github.io/.

Higher order PCA-like rotation-invariant features for detailed shape descriptors modulo rotation

PCA can be used for rotation invariant features, describing a shape with its pab=E[(xi−E[xa])(xb−E[xb])]p_{ab}=E[(x_i-E[x_a])(x_b-E[x_b])] covariance matrix approximating shape by ellipsoid, allowing for rotation invariants like its traces of powers. However, real shapes are usually much more complicated, hence there is proposed its extension to e.g. pabc=E[(xa−E[xa])(xb−E[xb])(xc−E[xc])]p_{abc}=E[(x_a-E[x_a])(x_b-E[x_b])(x_c-E[x_c])] order-3 or higher tensors describing central moments, or polynomial times Gaussian allowing decodable shape descriptors of arbitrarily high accuracy, and their analogous rotation invariants. Its practical applications could be rotation-invariant features to include shape modulo rotation e.g. for molecular shape descriptors, or for up to rotation object recognition in 2D images/3D scans maybe also for 3D scene understanding, or shape similarity metric allowing inexpensive comparison of objects modulo rotation avoiding costly optimization over rotations.

InsertAnywhere: Geometrically Grounded and Optics-Aware Video Object Insertion

Recent advances in diffusion models have enabled impressive video editing capabilities, yet production-grade Video Object Insertion (VOI) remains challenging due to inadequate 4D scene understanding and a lack of proper optical interactions, such as shadows and reflections. To address these limitations, we present InsertAnywhere, a comprehensive VOI framework that achieves geometrically grounded object placement and optics-aware video synthesis. Our approach first leverages a 4D-aware mask generation module that allows users to anchor an object's 3D pose in a single frame. The framework automatically propagates this placement across the video, accurately handling local scene dynamics and occlusions. To synthesize realistic physical lighting interactions, we introduce Optics-Aware Representation Alignment, a novel strategy that utilizes an extended mask to guide feature extraction, enabling optical effects to seamlessly extend beyond the inserted object's boundary. Finally, to overcome the lack of training data for such phenomena, we construct and open-source ROSE++, a specialized quadruplet dataset tailored for the supervised learning of optical effects. Extensive experiments demonstrate that InsertAnywhere produces geometrically plausible and photometrically realistic insertions in complex real-world scenarios, significantly outperforming existing research and commercial generative tools.

VLOD-TTA: Test-Time Adaptation of Vision-Language Object Detectors

Vision-language object detectors (VLODs) such as YOLO-World and Grounding DINO exhibit strong zero-shot generalization, but their performance degrades under distribution shift. Test-time adaptation (TTA) offers a practical way to adapt models during inference using only unlabeled target (test) data. However, while TTA has made substantial progress in vision-language classification, its application to VLODs remains largely unexplored. The only prior method relies on a mean-teacher framework that introduces significant latency and memory overhead. To this end, we introduce VLOD-TTA, a TTA method that leverages dense proposal overlap and image-conditioned prompts to adapt VLODs with low additional overhead. VLOD-TTA combines (i) an IoU-weighted entropy objective that emphasizes spatially coherent proposal clusters and mitigates confirmation bias from isolated boxes, and (ii) image-conditioned prompt selection that ranks prompts by image-level compatibility and aggregates the most informative prompt scores for detection. Our experiments across diverse distribution shifts, including artistic domains, adverse driving conditions, low-light imagery, and common corruptions, indicate that VLOD-TTA consistently outperforms standard TTA baselines and the prior state-of-the-art method using YOLO-World and Grounding DINO. Neural 3D Object Reconstruction with Small-Scale Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Miniaturized Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) can access indoor and hard-to-reach spaces, but severe constraints on payload and autonomy have limited their use in demanding tasks such as high-quality 3D reconstruction. We introduce a novel system architecture that enables autonomous, high-fidelity 3D scanning of static objects with sub-100 gram UAVs. Our core innovation lies in a closed-loop active viewpoint selection framework specifically tailored for ultra-constrained micro-platforms, advancing beyond standard static or offline active reconstruction methods. The framework establishes a dual-reconstruction pipeline that creates a real-time (RT) feedback loop between data capture and flight control. A near-RT process uses Structure-from-Motion (SfM) to generate an instantaneous point-cloud of the object. A systematic trajectory adaptation algorithm analyzes the model quality on the fly and dynamically adapts the UAV's trajectory based on parameterized spatial partitioning to intelligently capture new images of poorly covered areas, ensuring comprehensive acquisition. For the final, high-fidelity output, a non-RT pipeline employs a Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF)-based Neural 3D Reconstruction (N3DR) approach, fusing SfM-derived camera poses with precise external location data, evaluated across both radio-based Ultra Wideband (UWB) and visual motion-capture setups, to correct sensor noise and achieve superior accuracy. We implemented and validated this architecture using Crazyflie 2.1 UAVs. Our experiments, conducted in both single- and multi-UAV configurations show that algorithmic dynamic trajectory adaptation consistently improves reconstruction quality over static flight paths. This work demonstrates a scalable and autonomous solution that unlocks the potential of miniaturized UAVs for fine-grained 3D reconstruction, a capability previously reserved for much larger platforms.

CoRe-GS: Coarse-to-Refined Gaussian Splatting with Semantic Object Focus

Fast and efficient photorealistic 3D reconstruction with (semantic) Gaussian Splatting (GS) is crucial for time-critical robotic perception and navigation, where robots may need to rapidly reconstruct and inspect specific points of interest (POIs), such as in search-and-rescue scenarios. Existing semantic GS methods prioritize reconstruction and segmentation quality while uniformly optimizing entire scenes, often overlooking runtime constraints crucial for real-world deployment. Moreover, object extraction often suffers from floaters and incomplete reconstructions, while post-optimization approaches often produce incomplete POIs. We propose CoRe-GS, a coarse-to-refined, task-driven approach that first creates a segmentation-ready GS representation through lightweight late-stage semantic refinement, then selectively refines only the views and Gaussians associated with the POI. A color-based filtering strategy further suppresses segmentation-induced floaters. On LERF-Mask, our representation achieves competitive mIoU with 6-8x fewer optimization steps. On NeRDS 360 and SCRREAM, CoRe-GS reduces time-to-POI by 91-95% over full-scene semantic GS while improving reconstruction quality and reducing floaters. Across all benchmarks, it is 44-76% faster than post-optimization object extraction, demonstrating that task-aware refinement can deliver efficient, high-quality POI reconstruction for time-critical robotic perception and operation.

XYZ-IBD: Benchmarking Robust 6D Object Pose Estimation under Real-World Industrial Complexity

While current 6D pose estimation benchmarks have reached near-saturation on household objects, they often fail to capture the stochastic and optical complexities of industrial environments. We introduce XYZ-IBD, a high-precision benchmark for object detection and 6D pose estimation specifically designed for industrial bin-picking. XYZ-IBD addresses the domain gap by providing 75 multi-view real-world scenes containing approximately 273k annotated instances of metallic, symmetrical, and specular objects. Unlike existing datasets, our benchmark features high-density stochastic stacking and multi-instance ambiguity, reflecting authentic robotic manipulation challenges. We employ a rigorous multi-stage and semi-automatic annotation pipeline, ensuring sub-millimeter annotation accuracy. The annotations are validated through our designed error quantification scheme, securing the reliability of the annotation quality. In addition to real-world evaluation data, we provide a large-scale complementary synthetic training set that is rendered under a realistic bin-picking simulation. Benchmarking state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods for 2D detection and 6D pose estimation reveals a significant performance degradation compared to standard household benchmarks, highlighting the unsolved challenges of industrial vision. XYZ-IBD establishes a new frontier for robust pose estimation in complex, high-occlusion, and reflective scenarios. The dataset and benchmark are publicly available at https://xyz-ibd.github.io.

Fine-Grained Open-Vocabulary Object Detection with Fined-Grained Prompts: Task, Dataset and Benchmark

Open-vocabulary detectors are proposed to locate and recognize objects in novel classes. However, variations in vision-aware language vocabulary data used for open-vocabulary learning can lead to unfair and unreliable evaluations. Recent evaluation methods have attempted to address this issue by incorporating object properties or adding locations and characteristics to the captions. Nevertheless, since these properties and locations depend on the specific details of the images instead of classes, detectors can not make accurate predictions without precise descriptions provided through human annotation. This paper introduces 3F-OVD, a novel task that extends supervised fine-grained object detection to the open-vocabulary setting. Our task is intuitive and challenging, requiring a deep understanding of Fine-grained captions and careful attention to Fine-grained details in images in order to accurately detect Fine-grained objects. Additionally, due to the scarcity of qualified fine-grained object detection datasets, we have created a new dataset, NEU-171K, tailored for both supervised and open-vocabulary settings. We benchmark state-of-the-art object detectors on our dataset for both settings. Furthermore, we propose a simple yet effective post-processing technique. Our data, annotations and codes are available at https://github.com/tengerye/3FOVD.

A2DINOv3: Rethinking Multi-Modal Object Detection via Socialized Collaboration

Multi-modal object detection is essential for robust scene understanding in challenging conditions, including low-light and adverse environments. Recent vision foundation models (e.g., DINOv3) have exhibited strong representation capabilities, yet adapting them to multi-modal scenarios remains challenging. Existing dense cross-modal fusion strategies often force heterogeneous modalities to interact indiscriminately, which may introduce redundant information and disrupt the valuable pre-trained representations. To address this issue, we revisit multi-modal fusion from the perspective of socialized learning and propose adapter to DINOv3 (A2DINOv3), a multi-expert collaboration framework with a Socialized Collaboration Protocol (SCP). Specifically, RGB and infrared branches are modeled as heterogeneous experts that independently preserve their specialized knowledge while exchanging complementary information through selective and constrained interactions. This design mitigates harmful cross-modal interference and prevents degradation of pre-trained priors during adaptation. Furthermore, a zero-initialization strategy is introduced to gradually activate cross-modal collaboration, enabling a smooth transition from modality-specific learning to cooperative representation learning. Extensive experiments on four multi-modal benchmarks, including aerial detection (GAIIC), autonomous driving (FLIR), low-light surveillance (LLVIP), and diverse real-world scenarios (M3FD), demonstrate that A2DINOv3 consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance in multi-modal object detection.
