Scientific Communication
Overview
Scientific communication examines how research findings are shaped for readers, from scholarly papers and statistical reports to science news, talks, figures, and translations. Methods include discourse and citation analysis, reader studies, multilingual corpora, and AI systems for summarization, editing, presentation, and claim checking. Current work increasingly evaluates whether communication supports learning, accessibility, and reproducibility, while studying how AI changes scientific language and audience experience. A central tension is how to use automation and audience adaptation without distorting certainty, weakening evidence, or excluding language communities.
