Overview

Video generation models synthesize or edit sequences while aiming to keep content, motion, and scene structure coherent over time. Common approaches use diffusion or flow-matching Transformers, autoregressive models, and conditioning from text, reference images or videos, audio, camera paths, and 3D geometry. Researchers also use memory, physical simulation, reward-based post-training, and inference-time guidance to improve identity, controllability, and long-horizon consistency, while distillation and sparse attention reduce generation costs. A central challenge is that visual quality and prompt alignment do not guarantee physical or geometric coherence, so evaluation is expanding beyond perceptual scores to test consistency, reasoning, safety, and task outcomes.

HECTOR: Hybrid Editable Compositional Object References for Video Generation

Real-world videos naturally portray complex interactions among distinct physical objects, effectively forming dynamic compositions of visual elements. However, most current video generation models synthesize scenes holistically and therefore lack mechanisms for explicit compositional manipulation. To address this limitation, we propose HECTOR, a generative pipeline that enables fine-grained compositional control. In contrast to prior methods,HECTOR supports hybrid reference conditioning, allowing generation to be simultaneously guided by static images and/or dynamic videos. Moreover, users can explicitly specify the trajectory of each referenced element, precisely controlling its location, scale, and speed (see Figure1). This design allows the model to synthesize coherent videos that satisfy complex spatiotemporal constraints while preserving high-fidelity adherence to references. Extensive experiments demonstrate that HECTOR achieves superior visual quality, stronger reference preservation, and improved motion controllability compared with existing approaches.

EmbedTalk: Talking Head Synthesis using Gaussian Embeddings

Deformable 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has emerged as a popular method for real-time talking head synthesis, offering high-quality renderings at low latency. Tri-planes are a common choice for encoding Gaussians prior to deformation since they provide a compact and continuous representation. However, tri-plane encodings are limited by grid resolution and approximation errors introduced by projecting 3D volumetric fields onto 2D subspaces. Recent work has demonstrated the effectiveness of per-Gaussian embeddings for driving temporal deformations in 4D scene reconstruction. We introduce EmbedTalk, which leverages these embeddings to model speech-driven facial deformations for talking head synthesis. Comprehensive experiments show that EmbedTalk improves rendering quality, lip synchronisation, and motion consistency over previous 3DGS-based methods, while remaining competitive with state-of-the-art generative models. Replacing tri-plane features with embeddings also yields significantly more compact models that achieve 60+ FPS on a laptop GPU (RTX 2060 6 GB). Our code will be placed in the public domain on acceptance.

FastSTAR: Spatiotemporal Token Pruning for Efficient Autoregressive Video Synthesis

Visual Autoregressive modeling (VAR) has emerged as a highly efficient alternative to diffusion-based frameworks, achieving comparable synthesis quality. However, as this paradigm extends to Spacetime Autoregressive modeling (STAR) for video generation, scaling resolution and frame counts leads to a "token explosion" that creates a massive computational bottleneck in the final refinement stages. To address this, we propose FastSTAR, a training-free acceleration framework designed for high-quality video generation. Our core method, Spatiotemporal Token Pruning, identifies essential tokens by integrating two specialized terms: (1) Spatial similarity, which evaluates structural convergence across hierarchical scales to skip computations in regions where further refinement becomes redundant, and (2) Temporal similarity, which identifies active motion trajectories by assessing feature-level variations relative to the preceding clip. Combined with a Partial Update mechanism, FastSTAR ensures that only non-converged regions are refined, maintaining fluid motion while bypassing redundant computations. Experimental results on InfinityStar demonstrate that FastSTAR achieves up to a 2.01x speedup with a PSNR of 28.29 and less than 1% performance degradation, proving a superior efficiency-quality trade-off for STAR-based video synthesis.

Physical Simulator In-the-Loop Video Generation

Recent advances in diffusion-based video generation have achieved remarkable visual realism but still struggle to obey basic physical laws such as gravity, inertia, and collision. Generated objects often move inconsistently across frames, exhibit implausible dynamics, or violate physical constraints, limiting the realism and reliability of AI-generated videos. We address this gap by introducing Physical Simulator In-the-loop Video Generation (PSIVG), a novel framework that integrates a physical simulator into the video diffusion process. Starting from a template video generated by a pre-trained diffusion model, PSIVG reconstructs the 4D scene and foreground object meshes, initializes them within a physical simulator, and generates physically consistent trajectories. These simulated trajectories are then used to guide the video generator toward spatio-temporally physically coherent motion. To further improve texture consistency during object movement, we propose a Test-Time Texture Consistency Optimization (TTCO) technique that adapts text and feature embeddings based on pixel correspondences from the simulator. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that PSIVG produces videos that better adhere to real-world physics while preserving visual quality and diversity. Video Compression Meets Video Generation: Latent Inter-Frame Pruning with Attention Recovery

Current video generation models suffer from high computational latency, making real-time applications prohibitively costly. In this paper, we address this limitation by exploiting the temporal redundancy inherent in video latent patches. To this end, we propose the Latent Inter-frame Pruning with Attention Recovery (LIPAR) framework, which detects and skips recomputing duplicated latent patches. Additionally, we introduce a novel Attention Recovery mechanism that approximates the attention values of pruned tokens, thereby removing visual artifacts arising from naively applying the pruning method. Empirically, our method increases video editing throughput by 1.53×1.53\times, achieving an average of 19.3 FPS on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 with the 1.3B Self-Forcing model (4-step denoising, FP16). The proposed method does not compromise generation quality and can be seamlessly integrated with the model without additional training. Our approach effectively bridges the gap between traditional compression algorithms and modern generative pipelines.

FaceCam: Portrait Video Camera Control via Scale-Aware Conditioning

We introduce FaceCam, a system that generates video under customizable camera trajectories for monocular human portrait video input. Recent camera control approaches based on large video-generation models have shown promising progress but often exhibit geometric distortions and visual artifacts on portrait videos due to scale-ambiguous camera representations or 3D reconstruction errors. To overcome these limitations, we propose a face-tailored scale-aware representation for camera transformations that provides deterministic conditioning without relying on 3D priors. We train a video generation model on both multi-view studio captures and in-the-wild monocular videos, and introduce two camera-control data generation strategies: synthetic camera motion and multi-shot stitching, to exploit stationary training cameras while generalizing to dynamic, continuous camera trajectories at inference time. Experiments on Ava-256 dataset and diverse in-the-wild videos demonstrate that FaceCam achieves superior performance in camera controllability, visual quality, identity and motion preservation.

RealWonder: Real-Time Physical Action-Conditioned Video Generation

Current video generation models cannot simulate physical consequences of 3D actions like forces and robotic manipulations, as they lack structural understanding of how actions affect 3D scenes. We present RealWonder, the first real-time system for action-conditioned video generation from a single image. Our key insight is using physics simulation as an intermediate bridge: instead of directly encoding continuous actions, we translate them through physics simulation into visual representations (optical flow and RGB) that video models can process. RealWonder integrates three components: 3D reconstruction from single images, physics simulation, and a distilled video generator requiring only 4 diffusion steps. Our system achieves 13.2 FPS at 480x832 resolution, enabling interactive exploration of forces, robot actions, and camera controls on rigid objects, deformable bodies, fluids, and granular materials. We envision RealWonder opens new opportunities to apply video models in immersive experiences, AR/VR, and robot learning. CubeComposer: Spatio-Temporal Autoregressive 4K 360° Video Generation from Perspective Video

Generating high-quality 360° panoramic videos from perspective input is one of the crucial applications for virtual reality (VR), whereby high-resolution videos are especially important for immersive experience. Existing methods are constrained by computational limitations of vanilla diffusion models, only supporting ≤\leq 1K resolution native generation and relying on suboptimal post super-resolution to increase resolution. We introduce CubeComposer, a novel spatio-temporal autoregressive diffusion model that natively generates 4K-resolution 360° videos. By decomposing videos into cubemap representations with six faces, CubeComposer autoregressively synthesizes content in a well-planned spatio-temporal order, reducing memory demands while enabling high-resolution output. Specifically, to address challenges in multi-dimensional autoregression, we propose: (1) a spatio-temporal autoregressive strategy that orchestrates 360° video generation across cube faces and time windows for coherent synthesis; (2) a cube face context management mechanism, equipped with a sparse context attention design to improve efficiency; and (3) continuity-aware techniques, including cube-aware positional encoding, padding, and blending to eliminate boundary seams. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that CubeComposer outperforms state-of-the-art methods in native resolution and visual quality, supporting practical VR application scenarios. PhyPrompt: RL-based Prompt Refinement for Physically Plausible Text-to-Video Generation

State-of-the-art text-to-video (T2V) generators frequently violate physical laws despite high visual quality. We show this stems from insufficient physical constraints in prompts rather than model limitations: manually adding physics details reliably produces physically plausible videos, but requires expertise and does not scale. We present PhyPrompt, a two-stage reinforcement learning framework that automatically refines prompts for physically realistic generation. First, we fine-tune a large language model on a physics-focused Chain-of-Thought dataset to integrate principles like object motion and force interactions while preserving user intent. Second, we apply Group Relative Policy Optimization with a dynamic reward curriculum that initially prioritizes semantic fidelity, then progressively shifts toward physical commonsense. This curriculum achieves synergistic optimization: PhyPrompt-7B reaches 40.8% joint success on VideoPhy2 (8.6pp gain), improving physical commonsense by 11pp (55.8% to 66.8%) while simultaneously increasing semantic adherence by 4.4pp (43.4% to 47.8%). Remarkably, our curriculum exceeds single-objective training on both metrics, demonstrating compositional prompt discovery beyond conventional multi-objective trade-offs. PhyPrompt outperforms GPT-4o (+3.8% joint) and DeepSeek-V3 (+2.2%, 100×\times larger) using only 7B parameters. The approach transfers zero-shot across diverse T2V architectures (Lavie, VideoCrafter2, CogVideoX-5B) with up to 16.8% improvement, establishing that domain-specialized reinforcement learning with compositional curricula surpasses general-purpose scaling for physics-aware generation.

FastLightGen: Fast and Light Video Generation with Fewer Steps and Parameters

The recent advent of powerful video generation models, such as Hunyuan, WanX, Veo3, and Kling, has inaugurated a new era in the field. However, the practical deployment of these models is severely impeded by their substantial computational overhead, which stems from enormous parameter counts and the iterative, multi-step sampling process required during inference. Prior research on accelerating generative models has predominantly followed two distinct trajectories: reducing the number of sampling steps (e.g., LCM, DMD, and MagicDistillation) or compressing the model size for more efficient inference (e.g., ICMD). The potential of simultaneously compressing both to create a fast and lightweight model remains an unexplored avenue. In this paper, we propose FastLightGen, an algorithm that transforms large, computationally expensive models into fast, lightweight counterparts. The core idea is to construct an optimal teacher model, one engineered to maximize student performance, within a synergistic framework for distilling both model size and inference steps. Our extensive experiments on HunyuanVideo-ATI2V and WanX-TI2V reveal that a generator using 4-step sampling and 30% parameter pruning achieves optimal visual quality under a constrained inference budget. Furthermore, FastLightGen consistently outperforms all competing methods, establishing a new state-of-the-art in efficient video generation.

WildActor: Unconstrained Identity-Preserving Video Generation

Production-ready human video generation requires digital actors to maintain strictly consistent full-body identities across dynamic shots, viewpoints and motions, a setting that remains challenging for existing methods. Prior methods often suffer from face-centric behavior that neglects body-level consistency, or produce copy-paste artifacts where subjects appear rigid due to pose locking. We present Actor-18M, a large-scale human video dataset designed to capture identity consistency under unconstrained viewpoints and environments. Actor-18M comprises 1.6M videos with 18M corresponding human images, covering both arbitrary views and canonical three-view representations. Leveraging Actor-18M, we propose WildActor, a framework for any-view conditioned human video generation. We introduce an Asymmetric Identity-Preserving Attention mechanism coupled with a Viewpoint-Adaptive Monte Carlo Sampling strategy that iteratively re-weights reference conditions by marginal utility for balanced manifold coverage. Evaluated on the proposed Actor-Bench, WildActor consistently preserves body identity under diverse shot compositions, large viewpoint transitions, and substantial motions, surpassing existing methods in these challenging settings.

MicroVerse: A Preliminary Exploration Toward a Micro-World Simulation

Recent advances in video generation have opened new avenues for macroscopic simulation of complex dynamic systems, but their application to microscopic phenomena remains largely unexplored. Microscale simulation holds great promise for biomedical applications such as drug discovery, organ-on-chip systems, and disease mechanism studies, while also showing potential in education and interactive visualization. In this work, we introduce MicroWorldBench, a multi-level rubric-based benchmark for microscale simulation tasks. MicroWorldBench enables systematic, rubric-based evaluation through 459 unique expert-annotated criteria spanning multiple microscale simulation task (e.g., organ-level processes, cellular dynamics, and subcellular molecular interactions) and evaluation dimensions (e.g., scientific fidelity, visual quality, instruction following). MicroWorldBench reveals that current SOTA video generation models fail in microscale simulation, showing violations of physical laws, temporal inconsistency, and misalignment with expert criteria. To address these limitations, we construct MicroSim-10K, a high-quality, expert-verified simulation dataset. Leveraging this dataset, we train MicroVerse, a video generation model tailored for microscale simulation. MicroVerse can accurately reproduce complex microscale mechanism. Our work first introduce the concept of Micro-World Simulation and present a proof of concept, paving the way for applications in biology, education, and scientific visualization. Our work demonstrates the potential of educational microscale simulations of biological mechanisms. Our data and code are publicly available at https://github.com/FreedomIntelligence/MicroVerse

SwitchCraft: Training-Free Multi-Event Video Generation with Attention Controls

Recent advances in text-to-video diffusion models have enabled high-fidelity and temporally coherent videos synthesis. However, current models are predominantly optimized for single-event generation. When handling multi-event prompts, without explicit temporal grounding, such models often produce blended or collapsed scenes that break the intended narrative. To address this limitation, we present SwitchCraft, a training-free framework for multi-event video generation. Our key insight is that uniform prompt injection across time ignores the correspondence between events and frames. To this end, we introduce Event-Aligned Query Steering (EAQS), which steers frame-level attention to align with relevant event prompts. Furthermore, we propose Auto-Balance Strength Solver (ABSS), which adaptively balances steering strength to preserve temporal consistency and visual fidelity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SwitchCraft substantially improves prompt alignment, event clarity, and scene consistency compared with existing baselines, offering a simple yet effective solution for multi-event video generation.

ColoDiff: Integrating Dynamic Consistency With Content Awareness for Colonoscopy Video Generation

Colonoscopy video generation delivers dynamic, information-rich data critical for diagnosing intestinal diseases, particularly in data-scarce scenarios. High-quality video generation demands temporal consistency and precise control over clinical attributes, but faces challenges from irregular intestinal structures, diverse disease representations, and various imaging modalities. To this end, we propose ColoDiff, a diffusion-based framework that generates dynamic-consistent and content-aware colonoscopy videos, aiming to alleviate data shortage and assist clinical analysis. At the inter-frame level, our TimeStream module decouples temporal dependency from video sequences through a cross-frame tokenization mechanism, enabling intricate dynamic modeling despite irregular intestinal structures. At the intra-frame level, our Content-Aware module incorporates noise-injected embeddings and learnable prototypes to realize precise control over clinical attributes, breaking through the coarse guidance of diffusion models. Additionally, ColoDiff employs a non-Markovian sampling strategy that cuts steps by over 90% for real-time generation. ColoDiff is evaluated across three public datasets and one hospital database, based on both generation metrics and downstream tasks including disease diagnosis, modality discrimination, bowel preparation scoring, and lesion segmentation. Extensive experiments show ColoDiff generates videos with smooth transitions and rich dynamics. ColoDiff presents an effort in controllable colonoscopy video generation, revealing the potential of synthetic videos in complementing authentic representation and mitigating data scarcity in clinical settings.

UCM: Unified Modeling of Camera Control and Memory with Time-aware Positional Encoding Warping for World Models

World models based on video generation demonstrate remarkable potential for simulating interactive environments yet suffer from persistent difficulties in two key areas: maintaining long-term content consistency when scenes are revisited and enabling precise camera control from user-specified inputs. Existing methods based on explicit 3D reconstruction often compromise flexibility in unbounded scenarios and struggle to preserve fine-grained structures. Alternative methods rely directly on previously generated frames without establishing explicit spatial correspondence, thereby limiting controllability and consistency. To address these limitations, we present UCM, a novel framework for unified modeling of long-term memory and precise camera control via a time-aware positional encoding warping mechanism. To reduce computational overhead, we design an efficient dual-stream diffusion transformer for high-fidelity generation. Moreover, we introduce a scalable data curation strategy that utilizes point-cloud-based rendering to simulate scene revisiting, enabling training on over 500K monocular videos. Extensive experiments on real-world and synthetic benchmarks demonstrate that UCM significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods on long-term scene consistency, while achieving precise camera controllability in high-fidelity video generation.

Human Video Generation from a Single Image with 3D Pose and View Control

Recent diffusion methods have made significant progress in generating videos from single images due to their powerful visual generation capabilities. However, challenges persist in image-to-video synthesis, particularly in human video generation, where inferring view-consistent, motion-dependent clothing wrinkles from a single image remains a formidable problem. In this paper, we present Human Video Generation in 4D (HVG), a latent video diffusion model capable of generating high-quality, multi-view, spatiotemporally coherent human videos from a single image with 3D pose and view control. HVG achieves this through three key designs: (i) Articulated Pose Modulation, which captures the anatomical relationships of 3D joints via a novel dual-dimensional bone map and resolves self-occlusions across views by introducing 3D information; (ii) View and Temporal Alignment, which ensures multi-view consistency and alignment between a reference image and pose sequences for frame-to-frame stability; and (iii) Progressive Spatio-Temporal Sampling with temporal alignment to maintain smooth transitions in long multi-view animations. Extensive experiments on image-to-video tasks demonstrate that HVG outperforms existing methods in generating high-quality 4D human videos from diverse human images and pose inputs.

GA-Drive: Geometry-Appearance Decoupled Modeling for Free-viewpoint Driving Scene Generation

A free-viewpoint, editable, and high-fidelity driving simulator is crucial for training and evaluating end-to-end autonomous driving systems. In this paper, we present GA-Drive, a novel simulation framework capable of generating camera views along user-specified novel trajectories through Geometry-Appearance Decoupling and Diffusion-Based Generation. Given a set of images captured along a recorded trajectory and the corresponding scene geometry, GA-Drive synthesizes novel pseudo-views using geometry information. These pseudo-views are then transformed into photorealistic views using a trained video diffusion model. In this way, we decouple the geometry and appearance of scenes. An advantage of such decoupling is its support for appearance editing via state-of-the-art video-to-video editing techniques, while preserving the underlying geometry, enabling consistent edits across both original and novel trajectories. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GA-Drive substantially outperforms existing methods in terms of NTA-IoU, NTL-IoU, and FID scores.

ExpPortrait: Expressive Portrait Generation via Personalized Representation

While diffusion models have shown great potential in portrait generation, generating expressive, coherent, and controllable cinematic portrait videos remains a significant challenge. Existing intermediate signals for portrait generation, such as 2D landmarks and parametric models, have limited disentanglement capabilities and cannot express personalized details due to their sparse or low-rank representation. Therefore, existing methods based on these models struggle to accurately preserve subject identity and expressions, hindering the generation of highly expressive portrait videos. To overcome these limitations, we propose a high-fidelity personalized head representation that more effectively disentangles expression and identity. This representation captures both static, subject-specific global geometry and dynamic, expression-related details. Furthermore, we introduce an expression transfer module to achieve personalized transfer of head pose and expression details between different identities. We use this sophisticated and highly expressive head model as a conditional signal to train a diffusion transformer (DiT)-based generator to synthesize richly detailed portrait videos. Extensive experiments on self- and cross-reenactment tasks demonstrate that our method outperforms previous models in terms of identity preservation, expression accuracy, and temporal stability, particularly in capturing fine-grained details of complex motion.

PedaCo-Gen: Scaffolding Pedagogical Agency in Human-AI Collaborative Video Authoring

While advancements in Text-to-Video (T2V) generative AI offer a promising path toward democratizing content creation, current models are often optimized for visual fidelity rather than instructional efficacy. This study introduces PedaCo-Gen, a pedagogically-informed human-AI collaborative video generating system for authoring instructional videos based on Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML). Moving away from traditional "one-shot" generation, PedaCo-Gen introduces an Intermediate Representation (IR) phase, enabling educators to interactively review and refine video blueprints-comprising scripts and visual descriptions-with an AI reviewer. Our study with 23 education experts demonstrates that PedaCo-Gen significantly enhances video quality across various topics and CTML principles compared to baselines. Participants perceived the AI-driven guidance not merely as a set of instructions but as a metacognitive scaffold that augmented their instructional design expertise, reporting high production efficiency (M=4.26) and guide validity (M=4.04). These findings highlight the importance of reclaiming pedagogical agency through principled co-creation, providing a foundation for future AI authoring tools that harmonize generative power with human professional expertise.

Consistency-Preserving Diverse Video Generation

Text-to-video generation is expensive, so only a few samples are typically produced per prompt. In this low-sample regime, maximizing the value of each batch requires high cross-video diversity. Recent methods improve diversity for image generation, but for videos they often degrade within-video temporal consistency and require costly backpropagation through a video decoder. We propose a joint-sampling framework for flow-matching video generators that improves batch diversity while preserving temporal consistency. Our approach applies diversity-driven updates and then removes only the components that would decrease a temporal-consistency objective. To avoid image-space gradients, we compute both objectives with lightweight latent-space models, avoiding video decoding and decoder backpropagation. Experiments on a state-of-the-art text-to-video flow-matching model show diversity close to strong joint-sampling baselines while substantially improving temporal consistency and color naturalness. Our code is available at https://github.com/XinshuangL/Diverse-Video.

AnchorWeave: World-Consistent Video Generation with Retrieved Local Spatial Memories

Maintaining spatial world consistency over long horizons remains a central challenge for camera-controllable video generation. Existing memory-based approaches often condition generation on globally reconstructed 3D scenes by rendering anchor videos from the reconstructed geometry in the history. However, reconstructing a global 3D scene from multiple views inevitably introduces cross-view misalignment, as pose and depth estimation errors cause the same surfaces to be reconstructed at slightly different 3D locations across views. When fused, these inconsistencies accumulate into noisy geometry that contaminates the conditioning signals and degrades generation quality. We introduce AnchorWeave, a memory-augmented video generation framework that replaces a single misaligned global memory with multiple clean local geometric memories and learns to reconcile their cross-view inconsistencies. To this end, AnchorWeave performs coverage-driven local memory retrieval aligned with the target trajectory and integrates the selected local memories through a multi-anchor weaving controller during generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that AnchorWeave significantly improves long-term scene consistency while maintaining strong visual quality, with ablation and analysis studies further validating the effectiveness of local geometric conditioning, multi-anchor control, and coverage-driven retrieval.

PISCES: Annotation-free Text-to-Video Post-Training via Optimal Transport-Aligned Rewards

Text-to-video (T2V) generation aims to synthesize videos with high visual quality and temporal consistency that are semantically aligned with input text. Reward-based post-training has emerged as a promising direction to improve the quality and semantic alignment of generated videos. However, recent methods either rely on large-scale human preference annotations or operate on misaligned embeddings from pre-trained vision-language models, leading to limited scalability or suboptimal supervision. We present PISCES\texttt{PISCES}, an annotation-free post-training algorithm that addresses these limitations via a novel Dual Optimal Transport (OT)-aligned Rewards module. To align reward signals with human judgment, PISCES\texttt{PISCES} uses OT to bridge text and video embeddings at both distributional and discrete token levels, enabling reward supervision to fulfill two objectives: (i) a Distributional OT-aligned Quality Reward that captures overall visual quality and temporal coherence; and (ii) a Discrete Token-level OT-aligned Semantic Reward that enforces semantic, spatio-temporal correspondence between text and video tokens. To our knowledge, PISCES\texttt{PISCES} is the first to improve annotation-free reward supervision in generative post-training through the lens of OT. Experiments on both short- and long-video generation show that PISCES\texttt{PISCES} outperforms both annotation-based and annotation-free methods on VBench across Quality and Semantic scores, with human preference studies further validating its effectiveness. We show that the Dual OT-aligned Rewards module is compatible with multiple optimization paradigms, including direct backpropagation and reinforcement learning fine-tuning. Slot-ID: Identity-Preserving Video Generation from Reference Videos via Slot-Based Temporal Identity Encoding

Human identity-preserving text-to-video generation remains challenging under large changes in viewpoint, facial expression, illumination, and motion. Existing methods condition the generator on a single reference portrait, but a static image cannot capture how identity-bearing cues evolve across views and expressions, leading to face deformation, pose locking, identity drift, or over-smoothed faces. We observe that a short reference clip naturally provides richer temporal and multi-view identity cues than any single image, motivating a video-referential formulation. This richer signal, however, introduces a new challenge: identity evidence is distributed across many frames and must be distilled into a compact, stable representation under a limited token budget. To this end, we propose Slot-ID, a lightweight identity-conditioning framework built on a frozen text-to-video backbone. Slot-ID employs a slot-based temporal identity encoder with Sinkhorn-routed iterative reading to distill a compact, stable set of identity tokens from the reference clip, complemented by an image-anchor stream for dual-source conditioning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Slot-ID outperforms state-of-the-art methods in identity preservation and visual naturalness while remaining competitive in prompt following, with particularly large gains under challenging pose, expression, and motion variations.

CustomX: Unified Character, Action, and Scene Customization in Video World Models

Recent advances in world models have greatly enhanced interactive environment simulation. Existing methods mainly fall into two categories: (1) static world generation models, which construct 3D environments without active agents, and (2) controllable-entity models, which allow a single entity to perform limited actions in an otherwise uncontrollable environment. In this work, we introduce CustomX, leveraging the realism and structural grounding of static world generation while extending controllable-entity models to support user-specified characters capable of performing open-ended actions. Users can provide a 3DGS scene and a character, then use natural language to direct the character to perform diverse behaviors, ranging from basic locomotion to object-centric interactions, while freely exploring the environment. CustomX synthesizes temporally coherent video clips that preserve visual fidelity with the provided scene and character, formulated as a conditional autoregressive video generation problem. Built upon a pre-trained video generator, our training strategy significantly enhances motion dynamics while maintaining generalization across actions and characters. Our evaluation covers a broad range of aspects, including visual quality, character consistency, action controllability, and long-horizon coherence.

Transform Trained Transformer for Accelerating Native 4K Video Generation

Native 4K (2176×\times3840) video generation remains a critical challenge due to the quadratic computational explosion of full-attention as spatiotemporal resolution increases, making it difficult for models to strike a balance between efficiency and quality. This paper proposes a novel Transformer retrofit strategy termed T3 (T\textbf{T}ransform T\textbf{T}rained T\textbf{T}ransformer) that, without altering the core architecture of full-attention pretrained models, significantly reduces compute requirements by optimizing their forward logic. Specifically, T3-Video\textbf{T3-Video} introduces a multi-scale weight-sharing window attention mechanism and, via hierarchical blocking together with an axis-preserving full-attention design, can effect an "attention pattern" transformation of a pretrained model using only modest compute and data. Results on 4K-VBench\textbf{4K-VBench} show that T3-Video\textbf{T3-Video} substantially outperforms existing approaches: while delivering performance improvements (+4.29↑\uparrow VQA and +0.08↑\uparrow VTC), it accelerates native 4K video generation by more than 10×\times. ContextAnyone: Context-Aware Diffusion for Character-Consistent Text-to-Video Generation

Text-to-video generation has advanced rapidly, yet preserving a character's holistic appearance from a single reference image remains challenging, particularly when the character undergoes large pose, motion, and scene changes. Existing reference-conditioned approaches primarily treat the reference image as a conditioning signal, which can weaken fine-grained appearance information as reference and noisy video tokens interact during denoising. We propose ContextAnyone, a context-aware diffusion framework that instead treats the reference as an explicitly preserved appearance anchor. Our key idea is to jointly reconstruct the reference image and generate the target video within a shared diffusion transformer, providing direct supervision for preserving identity and fine-grained appearance throughout denoising. To maintain the reference as a stable source of appearance information, we further introduce asymmetric information flow that allows video tokens to selectively access reference tokens while preventing noisy video features from propagating back to the reference branch. We complement this design with Gap-RoPE, which separates the positional representations of the reference and generated video tokens. Experiments on a benchmark constructed from OpenVid-HD demonstrate that ContextAnyone improves both identity and fine-grained appearance consistency over existing reference-conditioned baselines while maintaining motion characteristics close to the underlying text-to-video generator.

Rethinking Reward Signals in Video GRPO: When Scores Become Targets

Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) enables stable and preference-oriented updates via group-wise comparisons for post-training video generation. However, GRPO directly optimizes reward-induced advantages. Under sustained optimization, the reward score can lose fidelity as a proxy for true video quality, consistent with the phenomenon described by Goodhart's Law. This leads to two recurring issues: (i) shortcut-driven optimization under composite objectives and (ii) reward saturation within prompt groups. To address these issues, we introduce TaRoS, a Target-Robust Reward Signaling framework for Video generation GRPO. TaRoS leverages component level performance assessment together with intra-group sparsity to organize multi-aspect rewards towards optimization objectives. In addition, it adaptively downweights components that exhibit saturation, thereby preserving effective optimization directions and mitigating redundancy. This maintains meaningful optimization directions and preserves within-group ranking separation, thereby preventing reward hacking and leading to more reliable policy updates. Extensive experiments show consistent improvements in visual fidelity, motion coherence, and text-video alignment over strong baselines.

UniVideo: Unified Understanding, Generation, and Editing for Videos

Unified multimodal models have shown promising results in multimodal content generation and editing but remain largely limited to the image domain. In this work, we present UniVideo, a versatile framework that extends unified modeling to the video domain. UniVideo adopts a dual-stream design, combining a Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM) for instruction understanding with a Multimodal DiT (MMDiT) for video generation. This design preserves the MLLM's original text generation capabilities, enables accurate interpretation of complex multimodal instructions, and maintains visual consistency in the generated content. Built on this architecture, UniVideo unifies diverse video generation and editing tasks under a single multimodal instruction paradigm and is jointly trained across them. Extensive experiments demonstrate that UniVideo matches or surpasses state-of-the-art task-specific baselines in text/image-to-video generation, in-context video generation and in-context video editing. Notably, the unified design of UniVideo enables two forms of generalization. First, UniVideo supports task composition, such as combining editing with style transfer, by integrating multiple capabilities within a single instruction. Second, even without explicit training on free-form video editing, UniVideo transfers its editing capability from large-scale image editing data to this setting, handling unseen instructions such as changing the environment or altering materials within a video. Beyond these core capabilities, UniVideo also supports visual-prompt-based video generation, where the MLLM interprets visual prompts and guides the MMDiT during synthesis. To foster future research, we released our model and code.

What Drives Compositional Generalization in Visual Generative Models? The Importance of Continuous Training Objectives

Compositional generalization, the ability to generate novel combinations of known concepts, is a key ingredient for visual generative models. Yet, not all mechanisms that enable or inhibit it are fully understood. In this work, we conduct a systematic study of which design choices critically determine compositional generalization in image and video generation. By isolating independent design axes, we identify two key factors strongly associated with compositional success: (i) whether the training objective operates on a discrete or continuous distribution, and (ii) the completeness of conditioning information about constituent factors during training. We also show that relaxing the discrete loss with an auxiliary continuous latent objective can partially recover compositional performance in discrete models like MaskGIT. Our findings, corroborated by diverse compositional tasks and preliminary evidence in world models and LLMs, motivate a shift toward continuous objectives for compositional generalization.
