Surround View
Surround-view systems utilize multiple cameras to create a comprehensive 360-degree view around a vehicle, primarily for autonomous driving applications. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and efficiency of depth estimation, scene reconstruction, and object detection from this multi-camera input, employing techniques like Gaussian splatting, transformers, and novel loss functions to address challenges such as fisheye lens distortion and limited camera overlap. These advancements are crucial for enhancing the reliability and safety of autonomous vehicles by providing a more robust and detailed understanding of the surrounding environment. The development of large-scale, realistic synthetic datasets is also a key area of focus to facilitate algorithm training and evaluation.
