DeVI: Physics-based Dexterous Human-Object Interaction via Synthetic Video Imitation

Recent advances in video generative models enable the synthesis of realistic human-object interaction videos across a wide range of scenarios and object categories, including complex dexterous manipulations that are difficult to capture with motion capture systems. While the rich interaction knowledge embedded in these synthetic videos holds strong potential for motion planning in dexterous robotic manipulation, their limited physical fidelity and purely 2D nature make them difficult to use directly as imitation targets in physics-based character control. We present DeVI (Dexterous Video Imitation), a novel framework that leverages text-conditioned synthetic videos to enable physically plausible dexterous agent control for interacting with unseen target objects. To overcome the imprecision of generative 2D cues, we introduce a hybrid tracking reward that integrates 3D human tracking with robust 2D object tracking. Unlike methods relying on high-quality 3D kinematic demonstrations, DeVI requires only the generated video, enabling zero-shot generalization across diverse objects and interaction types. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DeVI outperforms existing approaches that imitate 3D human-object interaction demonstrations, particularly in modeling dexterous hand-object interactions. We further validate the effectiveness of DeVI in multi-object scenes and text-driven action diversity, showcasing the advantage of using video as an HOI-aware motion planner.

LEXIS: LatEnt ProXimal Interaction Signatures for 3D HOI from an Image

Reconstructing 3D Human-Object Interaction from an RGB image is essential for perceptive systems. Yet, this remains challenging as it requires capturing the subtle physical coupling between the body and objects. While current methods rely on sparse, binary contact cues, these fail to model the continuous proximity and dense spatial relationships that characterize natural interactions. We address this limitation via InterFields, a representation that encodes dense, continuous proximity across the entire body and object surfaces. However, inferring these fields from single images is inherently ill-posed. To tackle this, our intuition is that interaction patterns are characteristically structured by the action and object geometry. We capture this structure in LEXIS, a novel discrete manifold of interaction signatures learned via a VQ-VAE. We then develop LEXIS-Flow, a diffusion framework that leverages LEXIS signatures to estimate human and object meshes alongside their InterFields. Notably, these InterFields help in a guided refinement that ensures physically-plausible, proximity-aware reconstructions without requiring post-hoc optimization. Evaluation on Open3DHOI and BEHAVE shows that LEXIS-Flow significantly outperforms existing SotA baselines in reconstruction, contact, and proximity quality. Our approach not only improves generalization but also yields reconstructions perceived as more realistic, moving us closer to holistic 3D scene understanding. Stability-Driven Motion Generation for Object-Guided Human-Human Co-Manipulation

Co-manipulation requires multiple humans to synchronize their motions with a shared object while ensuring reasonable interactions, maintaining natural poses, and preserving stable states. However, most existing motion generation approaches are designed for single-character scenarios or fail to account for payload-induced dynamics. In this work, we propose a flow-matching framework that ensures the generated co-manipulation motions align with the intended goals while maintaining naturalness and effectiveness. Specifically, we first introduce a generative model that derives explicit manipulation strategies from the object's affordance and spatial configuration, which guide the motion flow toward successful manipulation. To improve motion quality, we then design an adversarial interaction prior that promotes natural individual poses and realistic inter-person interactions during co-manipulation. In addition, we also incorporate a stability-driven simulation into the flow matching process, which refines unstable interaction states through sampling-based optimization and directly adjusts the vector field regression to promote more effective manipulation. The experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves higher contact accuracy, lower penetration, and better distributional fidelity compared to state-of-the-art human-object interaction baselines. CoInteract: Physically-Consistent Human-Object Interaction Video Synthesis via Spatially-Structured Co-Generation

Synthesizing human--object interaction (HOI) videos has broad practical value in e-commerce, digital advertising, and virtual marketing. However, current diffusion models, despite their photorealistic rendering capability, still frequently fail on (i) the structural stability of sensitive regions such as hands and faces and (ii) physically plausible contact (e.g., avoiding hand--object interpenetration). We present CoInteract, an end-to-end framework for HOI video synthesis conditioned on a person reference image, a product reference image, text prompts, and speech audio. CoInteract introduces two complementary designs embedded into a Diffusion Transformer (DiT) backbone. First, we propose a Human-Aware Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) that routes tokens to lightweight, region-specialized experts via spatially supervised routing, improving fine-grained structural fidelity with minimal parameter overhead. Second, we propose Spatially-Structured Co-Generation, a dual-stream training paradigm that jointly models an RGB appearance stream and an auxiliary HOI structure stream to inject interaction geometry priors. During training, the HOI stream attends to RGB tokens and its supervision regularizes shared backbone weights; at inference, the HOI branch is removed for zero-overhead RGB generation. Experimental results demonstrate that CoInteract significantly outperforms existing methods in structural stability, logical consistency, and interaction realism.

SynAgent: Generalizable Cooperative Humanoid Manipulation via Solo-to-Cooperative Agent Synergy

Controllable cooperative humanoid manipulation is a fundamental yet challenging problem for embodied intelligence, due to severe data scarcity, complexities in multi-agent coordination, and limited generalization across objects. In this paper, we present SynAgent, a unified framework that enables scalable and physically plausible cooperative manipulation by leveraging Solo-to-Cooperative Agent Synergy to transfer skills from single-agent human-object interaction to multi-agent human-object-human scenarios. To maintain semantic integrity during motion transfer, we introduce an interaction-preserving retargeting method based on an Interact Mesh constructed via Delaunay tetrahedralization, which faithfully maintains spatial relationships among humans and objects. Building upon this refined data, we propose a single-agent pretraining and adaptation paradigm that bootstraps synergistic collaborative behaviors from abundant single-human data through decentralized training and multi-agent PPO. Finally, we develop a trajectory-conditioned generative policy using a conditional VAE, trained via multi-teacher distillation from motion imitation priors to achieve stable and controllable object-level trajectory execution. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SynAgent significantly outperforms existing baselines in both cooperative imitation and trajectory-conditioned control, while generalizing across diverse object geometries. HRDexDB: A 4D Dexterous Grasping Dataset Across Human and Multiple Robot Embodiments

We present HRDexDB, a real-world 4D dexterous grasping dataset capturing 3D hand-object interaction trajectories over time across five embodiments. The dataset comprises 3.2K trials over 100 diverse objects. Using a synchronized multi-camera system and an integrated reconstruction pipeline, HRDexDB provides multi-view and egocentric RGB observations, 3D hand geometry, robot states, and object 6D pose trajectories, together with success/failure annotations. Human and robotic hands interact with shared objects, enabling the study of embodiment-dependent grasp strategies and contact patterns. We demonstrate the dataset's utility through human-to-robot contact map transfer, visual robot-object contact estimation, and retrieval-assisted grasping. Together, these results establish HRDexDB as a resource for studying and learning dexterous interactions across human and robotic embodiments.

EgoSim: Egocentric World Simulator for Embodied Interaction Generation

We introduce EgoSim, a closed-loop egocentric world simulator that generates spatially consistent interaction videos and persistently updates the underlying 3D scene state for continuous simulation. Existing egocentric simulators either lack explicit 3D grounding, causing structural drift under viewpoint changes, or treat the scene as static, failing to update world states across multi-stage interactions. EgoSim addresses both limitations by modeling 3D scenes as updatable world states. We generate embodiment interactions via a Geometry-action-aware Observation Simulation model, with spatial consistency from an Interaction-aware State Updating module. To overcome the critical data bottleneck posed by the difficulty in acquiring densely aligned scene-interaction training pairs, we design a scalable pipeline that extracts static point clouds, camera trajectories, and embodiment actions from in-the-wild large-scale monocular egocentric videos. We further introduce EgoCap, a capture system that enables low-cost real-world data collection with uncalibrated smartphones. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EgoSim significantly outperforms existing methods in terms of visual quality, spatial consistency, and generalization to complex scenes and in-the-wild dexterous interactions, while supporting cross-embodiment transfer to robotic manipulation. Codes and datasets will be open soon. The project page is at egosimulator.github.io.

Learning to Generate Human-Human-Object Interactions from Textual Descriptions

The way humans interact with each other, including interpersonal distances, spatial configuration, and motion, varies significantly across different situations. To enable machines to understand such complex, context-dependent behaviors, it is essential to model multiple people in relation to the surrounding scene context. In this paper, we present a novel research problem to model the correlations between two people engaged in a shared interaction involving an object. We refer to this formulation as Human-Human-Object Interactions (HHOIs). To overcome the lack of dedicated datasets for HHOIs, we present a newly captured HHOIs dataset and a method to synthesize HHOI data by leveraging image generative models. As an intermediary, we obtain individual human-object interaction (HOIs) and human-human interaction (HHIs) from the HHOIs, and with these data, we train an text-to-HOI and text-to-HHI model using score-based diffusion model. Finally, we present a unified generative framework that integrates the two individual model, capable of synthesizing complete HHOIs in a single advanced sampling process. Our method extends HHOI generation to multi-human settings, enabling interactions involving more than two individuals. Experimental results show that our method generates realistic HHOIs conditioned on textual descriptions, outperforming previous approaches that focus only on single-human HOIs. Furthermore, we introduce multi-human motion generation involving objects as an application of our framework.

ECHO: Ego-Centric modeling of Human-Object interactions

Modeling human-object interactions (HOI) from an egocentric perspective is a critical yet challenging task, particularly when relying on sparse signals from wearable devices like smart glasses and watches. We present ECHO, the first unified framework to jointly recover human pose, object motion, and contact dynamics solely from head and wrist tracking. To tackle the underconstrained nature of this problem, we introduce a novel tri-variate diffusion process with independent noise schedules that models the mutual dependencies between the human, object, and interaction modalities. This formulation allows ECHO to operate with flexible input configurations, making it robust to intermittent tracking and capable of leveraging partial observations. Crucially, it enables training on a combination of large-scale human motion datasets and smaller HOI collections, learning strong priors while capturing interaction nuances. Furthermore, we employ a smooth inpainting inference mechanism that enables the generation of temporally consistent interactions for arbitrarily long sequences. Extensive evaluations demonstrate that ECHO achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming existing methods lacking such flexibility. LHM-Humanoid: Long-Horizon Human Motion Control for Continuous Object Transport in Cluttered Scenes

Physics-based human motion control can make a simulated character walk, sit, and manipulate objects with high physical realism. Almost always, though, this happens in short, isolated clips that are re-initialized between interactions. We instead aim for continuous, reset-free long-horizon motion: a physically simulated humanoid that repeatedly walks to a displaced object, lifts it with a balanced whole-body posture, carries it past obstacles, and places it at a goal, over and over within a single uninterrupted take. The hard part is not any individual motion but the transitions between them. Without a reset, each cycle must end in a state that both leaves the object just placed undisturbed and lets the next cycle begin, yet every placement leaves the character off-balance in a non-canonical pose where naive end-to-end reinforcement learning fails. Our key idea is to treat this handoff as a two-sided problem of recoverability: the character must disengage from the object it just placed so the prior success is preserved, and settle into a state from which a balanced continuation exists. Instead of engineering a transition by hand, we learn to shape where each cycle ends so that it lands in this recoverable region. We introduce LHM-Humanoid. One goal-conditioned controller completes a fetch--carry--place cycle and, through a learned release-and-retreat behavior, steers its terminal state into this region; a second controller then takes over from the resulting state distribution. Both are regularized by an adversarial motion prior and distilled into a single goal-conditioned policy that runs the whole sequence as one reset-free rollout. Across 350 cluttered layouts spanning four room types, LHM-Humanoid produces far more successful and stable long-horizon motion than end-to-end RL, hierarchical RL, and prior physics-based human-scene-interaction methods, on both seen and unseen scenes.

Diffusion Models are Open-World Affordance Learners: Leveraging Generative Priors for 3D Affordance Learning

3D affordance grounding aims to understand how diverse objects can be manipulated, making it a cornerstone of embodied interaction. However, prior works struggle to generalize to out-of-distribution, open-world scenarios, leaving a critical gap between limited dataset performance and real-world application needs. Inspired by the saying: \textit{\textbf{``What I can not create, I do not understand''}}, we find generative models can generate semantically valid HOI images, which indicates inherent encoding of affordance concepts. Building on this insight, we propose DAG, the first innovative diffusion-based 3D affordance grounding framework that extracts general affordance knowledge from text-to-image diffusion models for 3D affordance prediction. Specifically, we extract the affordance priors from a diffusion model to encode HOI priors, and design an affordance block with a multi-source affordance decoder for dense 3D affordance prediction. Extensive experiments show that DAG consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods and exhibits strong open-world generalization, even in the challenging one-shot setting. The code of our method is released on \textcolor{blue}{\textit{https://github.com/hq-King/DAG}}.

HunyuanVideo-HOMA: Generic Human-Object Interaction in Multimodal Driven Human Animation

To address key limitations in human-object interaction (HOI) video generation -- specifically the reliance on curated motion data, limited generalization to novel objects/scenarios, and restricted accessibility -- we introduce HunyuanVideo-HOMA, a weakly conditioned multimodal-driven framework. HunyuanVideo-HOMA enhances controllability and reduces dependency on precise inputs through sparse, decoupled motion guidance. It encodes appearance and motion signals into the dual input space of a multimodal diffusion transformer (MMDiT), fusing them within a shared context space to synthesize temporally consistent and physically plausible interactions. To optimize training, we integrate a parameter-space HOI adapter initialized from pretrained MMDiT weights, preserving prior knowledge while enabling efficient adaptation, and a facial cross-attention adapter for anatomically accurate audio-driven lip synchronization. Extensive experiments confirm state-of-the-art performance in interaction naturalness and generalization under weak supervision. Finally, HunyuanVideo-HOMA demonstrates versatility in text-conditioned generation and interactive object manipulation, supported by a user-friendly demo interface. Web2Grasp: Learning Functional Grasps from Web Images of Hand-Object Interactions

Functional grasping is essential for enabling dexterous multi-finger robot hands to manipulate objects effectively. Prior work largely focuses on power grasps, which only involve holding an object, or relies on in-domain demonstrations for specific objects. We propose leveraging human grasp information extracted from web images, which capture natural and functional hand-object interactions (HOI). Using a pretrained 3D reconstruction model, we recover 3D human HOI meshes from RGB images. To train on these noisy HOI data, we propose to use: (1) an interaction-centric model to learn the functional interaction pattern between hand and object, and (2) geometry-based filtering to remove the infeasible grasps and physical simulation to retain grasps who can resist disturbance. In IssacGym simulation, our model trained on reconstructed HOI grasps achieves a 75.8% success rate on objects from the web dataset and generalizes to unseen objects, outperforming baseline methods in both grasp success and functional quality. In real-world experiments with the LEAP hand and Inspire hand, it attains a 77.5% success rate across 12 objects, including challenging ones such as a syringe, spray bottle, knife, and tongs. Uni-HOI:A Unified framework for Learning the Joint distribution of Text and Human-Object Interaction

Modeling 4D human-object interaction (HOI) is a compelling challenge in computer vision and an essential technology powering virtual and mixed-reality applications. While existing works have achieved promising results on specific HOI tasks-such as text-conditioned HOI generation and human motion generation from object motion, they typically rely on task-specific architectures and lack a unified framework capable of handling diverse conditional inputs. Building on this, we propose Uni-HOI, a unified framework that learns the joint distribution among text, human motion, and object motion. By leveraging large language models (LLMs) and two motion-specific vector quantized variational autoencoders (VQ-VAEs), we convert heterogeneous motion data into token sequences compatible with LLM inputs, enabling seamless integration and joint modeling of all three modalities. We introduce a two-stage training strategy: the first stage performs multi-task learning on a large-scale HOI dataset to capture the underlying correlations among the three modalities, while the second stage fine-tunes the model on specific tasks to further enhance performance. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Uni-HOI achieves remarkable performances on multiple HOI-related tasks including text-driven HOI generation, object motion-driven human motion generation (optionally with text) and human motion-driven object motion prediction within a unified framework.
