Microservice Architecture
Overview
Microservice architecture divides applications into services that communicate over networks, making it easier to deploy and scale components independently but harder to understand their interactions. Research uses service graphs, traces, metrics, and logs with machine-learning methods to forecast latency, detect anomalies, and locate failures; LLMs and multi-agent systems are also being explored for design, testing, diagnosis, and remediation. Work also addresses deployment choices, resource allocation, and production pipelines, where shared infrastructure and cross-service dependencies shape performance. A central challenge is making automated diagnosis and recovery reliable with incomplete data, while building benchmarks and safeguards that support fair evaluation and prevent harmful actions.
