Single-View 3D Reconstruction

Overview

Single-view 3D reconstruction estimates geometry and appearance from one image, where hidden surfaces, depth, and object relationships are inherently ambiguous. Methods represent outputs as meshes, point clouds, neural fields, or 3D Gaussians, using feed-forward prediction, parametric shape models, differentiable rendering, and diffusion or video-generation priors to infer unseen views. Work spans objects, indoor scenes, humans and animals, and specialized settings such as medical imaging and CAD; physical constraints and explicit image-to-geometry alignment increasingly support editable or simulation-ready results. The central tension is that generative priors can produce complete, plausible outputs but may hallucinate details or drift from the input, so geometry, identity, cross-view consistency, speed, and uncertainty remain important evaluation challenges.

Giving Faces Their Feelings Back: Explicit Emotion Control for Feedforward Single-Image 3D Head Avatars

We present a framework for explicit emotion control in feed-forward, single-image 3D head avatar reconstruction. Unlike existing pipelines where emotion is implicitly entangled with geometry or appearance, we treat emotion as a first-class control signal that can be manipulated independently and consistently across identities. Our method injects emotion into existing feed-forward architectures via a dual-path modulation mechanism without modifying their core design. Geometry modulation performs emotion-conditioned normalization in the original parametric space, disentangling emotional state from speech-driven articulation, while appearance modulation captures identity-aware, emotion-dependent visual cues beyond geometry. To enable learning under this setting, we construct a time-synchronized, emotion-consistent multi-identity dataset by transferring aligned emotional dynamics across identities. Integrated into multiple state-of-the-art backbones, our framework preserves reconstruction and reenactment fidelity while enabling controllable emotion transfer, disentangled manipulation, and smooth emotion interpolation, advancing expressive and scalable 3D head avatars.

Any3DAvatar: Fast and High-Quality Full-Head 3D Avatar Reconstruction from Single Portrait Image

Reconstructing a complete 3D head from a single portrait remains challenging because existing methods still face a sharp quality-speed trade-off: high-fidelity pipelines often rely on multi-stage processing and per-subject optimization, while fast feed-forward models struggle with complete geometry and fine appearance details. To bridge this gap, we propose Any3DAvatar, a fast and high-quality method for single-image 3D Gaussian head avatar generation, whose fastest setting reconstructs a full head in under one second while preserving high-fidelity geometry and texture. First, we build AnyHead, a unified data suite that combines identity diversity, dense multi-view supervision, and realistic accessories, filling the main gaps of existing head data in coverage, full-head geometry, and complex appearance. Second, rather than sampling unstructured noise, we initialize from a Plücker-aware structured 3D Gaussian scaffold and perform one-step conditional denoising, formulating full-head reconstruction into a single forward pass while retaining high fidelity. Third, we introduce auxiliary view-conditioned appearance supervision on the same latent tokens alongside 3D Gaussian reconstruction, improving novel-view texture details at zero extra inference cost. Experiments show that Any3DAvatar outperforms prior single-image full-head reconstruction methods in rendering fidelity while remaining substantially faster.

Reconstruction of a 3D wireframe from a single line drawing via generative depth estimation

Reconstructing 3D geometry from 2D engineering line drawings is an inherently ambiguous problem: while visible strokes determine the object's projected structure, they do not specify the depth of each stroke. Rather than treating this problem as sketch-based asset generation, where models often infer unobserved structure, we study projection-faithful wireframe reconstruction: lifting a user-provided drawing into 3D according to its visible strokes. We formulate this task as conditional depth estimation over line drawings, predicting a depth value for each drawn pixel to produce a 3D wireframe. To model the ambiguities of orthographic projection, we implement a Latent Diffusion Model with spatial conditioning on the input sketch and optional partial-depth conditioning for iterative reconstruction. We train and evaluate our models on over three million synthetic image-depth pairs derived from CAD wireframes, including a newly curated corpus of roughly 90,000 shapes. Across varying shape complexities, our framework achieves robust reconstruction performance; scaling from 256 to 512 resolution with a retrained latent space roughly halves reconstruction error, reaching a 3.9% best-of-five (7.0% average) normalized depth error. These results demonstrate the potential of projection-faithful depth estimation as a user-controlled approach for iterative 3D wireframe creation in engineering design.

A Semi-Automated Framework for 3D Reconstruction of Medieval Manuscript Miniatures

This paper presents a semi-automated framework for transforming two-dimensional miniatures from medieval manuscripts into three-dimensional digital models suitable for extended reality (XR), tactile 3Dprinting, and web-based visualization. We evaluate seven image-to-3D methods (TripoSR, SF3D, SPAR3D, TRELLIS, Wonder3D, SAM3D, Hi3DGen) on 69manuscript figures from two collections using rendering-based metrics (Silhouette IoU, LPIPS, CLIPScore) and volumetric measures (Depth Range Ratio, watertight percentage), revealing a trade-off between volumetric expansion and geometric fidelity. Hi3DGen balances topological quality with rich surface detail through its normal bridging approach, making it a good starting point for expert refinement. Our pipeline combines SAM segmentation, Hi3DGen mesh generation, expert refinement in ZBrush, and AI-assisted texturing. Two case studies on Gothic illuminations from the Decretum Gratiani (Vatican Library) and Renaissance miniatures by Giulio Clovio demonstrate applicability across artistic traditions. The resulting models can support WebXR visualization, AR overlay on physical manuscripts, and tactile 3D~prints for visually impaired users.

Human Interaction-Aware 3D Reconstruction from a Single Image

Reconstructing textured 3D human models from a single image is fundamental for AR/VR and digital human applications. However, existing methods mostly focus on single individuals and thus fail in multi-human scenes, where naive composition of individual reconstructions often leads to artifacts such as unrealistic overlaps, missing geometry in occluded regions, and distorted interactions. These limitations highlight the need for approaches that incorporate group-level context and interaction priors. We introduce a holistic method that explicitly models both group- and instance-level information. To mitigate perspective-induced geometric distortions, we first transform the input into a canonical orthographic space. Our primary component, Human Group-Instance Multi-View Diffusion (HUG-MVD), then generates complete multi-view normals and images by jointly modeling individuals and group context to resolve occlusions and proximity. Subsequently, the Human Group-Instance Geometric Reconstruction (HUG-GR) module optimizes the geometry by leveraging explicit, physics-based interaction priors to enforce physical plausibility and accurately model inter-human contact. Finally, the multi-view images are fused into a high-fidelity texture. Together, these components form our complete framework, HUG3D. Extensive experiments show that HUG3D significantly outperforms both single-human and existing multi-human methods, producing physically plausible, high-fidelity 3D reconstructions of interacting people from a single image. HairOrbit: Multi-view Aware 3D Hair Modeling from Single Portraits

Reconstructing strand-level 3D hair from a single-view image is highly challenging, especially when preserving consistent and realistic attributes in unseen regions. Existing methods rely on limited frontal-view cues and small-scale/style-restricted synthetic data, often failing to produce satisfactory results in invisible regions. In this work, we propose a novel framework that leverages the strong 3D priors of video generation models to transform single-view hair reconstruction into a calibrated multi-view reconstruction task. To balance reconstruction quality and efficiency for the reformulated multi-view task, we further introduce a neural orientation extractor trained on sparse real-image annotations for better full-view orientation estimation. In addition, we design a two-stage strand-growing algorithm based on a hybrid implicit field to synthesize the 3D strand curves with fine-grained details at a relatively fast speed. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on single-view 3D hair strand reconstruction on a diverse range of hair portraits in both visible and invisible regions.

NavCrafter: Exploring 3D Scenes from a Single Image

Creating flexible 3D scenes from a single image is vital when direct 3D data acquisition is costly or impractical. We introduce NavCrafter, a novel framework that explores 3D scenes from a single image by synthesizing novel-view video sequences with camera controllability and temporal-spatial consistency. NavCrafter leverages video diffusion models to capture rich 3D priors and adopts a geometry-aware expansion strategy to progressively extend scene coverage. To enable controllable multi-view synthesis, we introduce a multi-stage camera control mechanism that conditions diffusion models with diverse trajectories via dual-branch camera injection and attention modulation. We further propose a collision-aware camera trajectory planner and an enhanced 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) pipeline with depth-aligned supervision, structural regularization and refinement. Extensive experiments demonstrate that NavCrafter achieves state-of-the-art novel-view synthesis under large viewpoint shifts and substantially improves 3D reconstruction fidelity.

HICT: High-precision 3D CBCT reconstruction from a single X-ray

Accurate 3D dental imaging is vital for diagnosis and treatment planning, yet CBCT's high radiation dose and cost limit its accessibility. Reconstructing 3D volumes from a single low-dose panoramic X-ray is a promising alternative but remains challenging due to geometric inconsistencies and limited accuracy. We propose HiCT, a two-stage framework that first generates geometrically consistent multi-view projections from a single panoramic image using a video diffusion model, and then reconstructs high-fidelity CBCT from the projections using a ray-based dynamic attention network and an X-ray sampling strategy. To support this, we built XCT, a large-scale dataset combining public CBCT data with 500 paired PX-CBCT cases. Extensive experiments show that HiCT achieves state-of-the-art performance, delivering accurate and geometrically consistent reconstructions for clinical use.

Know3D: Prompting 3D Generation with Knowledge from Vision-Language Models

Recent advances in 3D generation have improved the fidelity and geometric details of synthesized 3D assets. However, due to the inherent ambiguity of single-view observations and the lack of robust global structural priors caused by limited 3D training data, the unseen regions generated by existing models are often stochastic and difficult to control, which may sometimes fail to align with user intentions or produce implausible geometries. In this paper, we propose Know3D, a novel framework that incorporates rich knowledge from multimodal large language models into 3D generative processes via latent hidden-state injection, enabling language-controllable generation of the back-view for 3D assets. We utilize a VLM-diffusion-based model, where the VLM is responsible for semantic understanding and guidance. The diffusion model acts as a bridge that transfers semantic knowledge from the VLM to the 3D generation model. In this way, we successfully bridge the gap between abstract textual instructions and the geometric reconstruction of unobserved regions, transforming the traditionally stochastic back-view hallucination into a semantically controllable process, demonstrating a promising direction for future 3D generation models.

OrbitNVS: Harnessing Video Diffusion Priors for Novel View Synthesis

Novel View Synthesis (NVS) aims to generate unseen views of a 3D object given a limited number of known views. Existing methods often struggle to synthesize plausible views for unobserved regions, particularly under single-view input, and still face challenges in maintaining geometry- and appearance-consistency. To address these issues, we propose OrbitNVS, which reformulates NVS as an orbit video generation task. Through tailored model design and training strategies, we adapt a pre-trained video generation model to the NVS task, leveraging its rich visual priors to achieve high-quality view synthesis. Specifically, we incorporate camera adapters into the video model to enable accurate camera control. To enhance two key properties of 3D objects, geometry and appearance, we design a normal map generation branch and use normal map features to guide the synthesis of the target views via attention mechanism, thereby improving geometric consistency. Moreover, we apply a pixel-space supervision to alleviate blurry appearance caused by spatial compression in the latent space. Extensive experiments show that OrbitNVS significantly outperforms previous methods on the GSO and OmniObject3D benchmarks, especially in the challenging single-view setting (\eg, +2.9 dB and +2.4 dB PSNR).

MonoArt: Progressive Structural Reasoning for Monocular Articulated 3D Reconstruction

Reconstructing articulated 3D objects from a single image requires jointly inferring object geometry, part structure, and motion parameters from limited visual evidence. A key difficulty lies in the entanglement between motion cues and object structure, which makes direct articulation regression unstable. Existing methods address this challenge through multi-view supervision, retrieval-based assembly, or auxiliary video generation, often sacrificing scalability or efficiency. We present MonoArt, a unified framework grounded in progressive structural reasoning. Rather than predicting articulation directly from image features, MonoArt progressively transforms visual observations into canonical geometry, structured part representations, and motion-aware embeddings within a single architecture. This structured reasoning process enables stable and interpretable articulation inference without external motion templates or multi-stage pipelines. Extensive experiments on PartNet-Mobility demonstrate that OM achieves state-of-the-art performance in both reconstruction accuracy and inference speed. The framework further generalizes to robotic manipulation and articulated scene reconstruction.

CrowdGaussian: Reconstructing High-Fidelity 3D Gaussians for Human Crowd from a Single Image

Single-view 3D human reconstruction has garnered significant attention in recent years. Despite numerous advancements, prior research has concentrated on reconstructing 3D models from clear, close-up images of individual subjects, often yielding subpar results in the more prevalent multi-person scenarios. Reconstructing 3D human crowd models is a highly intricate task, laden with challenges such as: 1) extensive occlusions, 2) low clarity, and 3) numerous and various appearances. To address this task, we propose CrowdGaussian, a unified framework that directly reconstructs multi-person 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) representations from single-image inputs. To handle occlusions, we devise a self-supervised adaptation pipeline that enables the pretrained large human model to reconstruct complete 3D humans with plausible geometry and appearance from heavily occluded inputs. Furthermore, we introduce Self-Calibrated Learning (SCL). This training strategy enables single-step diffusion models to adaptively refine coarse renderings to optimal quality by blending identity-preserving samples with clean/corrupted image pairs. The outputs can be distilled back to enhance the quality of multi-person 3DGS representations. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CrowdGaussian generates photorealistic, geometrically coherent reconstructions of multi-person scenes.

SMAL-pets: SMAL Based Avatars of Pets from Single Image

Creating high-fidelity, animatable 3D dog avatars remains a formidable challenge in computer vision. Unlike human digital doubles, animal reconstruction faces a critical shortage of large-scale, annotated datasets for specialized applications. Furthermore, the immense morphological diversity across species, breeds, and crosses, which varies significantly in size, proportions, and features, complicates the generalization of existing models. Current reconstruction methods often struggle to capture realistic fur textures. Additionally, ensuring these avatars are fully editable and capable of performing complex, naturalistic movements typically necessitates labor-intensive manual mesh manipulation and expert rigging. This paper introduces SMAL-pets, a comprehensive framework that generates high-quality, editable animal avatars from a single input image. Our approach bridges the gap between reconstruction and generative modeling by leveraging a hybrid architecture. Our method integrates 3D Gaussian Splatting with the SMAL parametric model to provide a representation that is both visually high-fidelity and anatomically grounded. We introduce a multimodal editing suite that enables users to refine the avatar's appearance and execute complex animations through direct textual prompts. By allowing users to control both the aesthetic and behavioral aspects of the model via natural language, SMAL-pets provides a flexible, robust tool for animation and virtual reality.

Real-Time Human Frontal View Synthesis from a Single Image

Photorealistic human novel view synthesis from a single image is crucial for democratizing immersive 3D telepresence, eliminating the need for complex multi-camera setups. However, current rendering-centric methods prioritize visual fidelity over explicit geometric understanding and struggle with intricate regions like faces and hands, leading to temporal instability. Meanwhile, human-centric frameworks suffer from memory bottlenecks since they typically rely on an auxiliary model to provide informative structural priors for geometric modeling, which limits real-time performance. To address these challenges, we propose PrismMirror, a geometry-guided framework for instant frontal view synthesis from a single image. By avoiding external geometric modeling and focusing on frontal view synthesis, our model optimizes visual integrity for telepresence. Specifically, PrismMirror introduces a novel cascade learning strategy that enables coarse-to-fine geometric feature learning. It first directly learns coarse geometric features, such as SMPL-X meshes and point clouds, and then refines textures through rendering supervision. To achieve real-time efficiency, we distill this unified framework into a lightweight linear attention model. Notably, PrismMirror is the first monocular human frontal view synthesis model that achieves real-time inference at 24 FPS, significantly outperforming previous methods in both visual authenticity and structural accuracy.

Zero-Shot Reconstruction of Animatable 3D Avatars with Cloth Dynamics from a Single Image

Existing single-image 3D human avatar methods primarily rely on rigid joint transformations, limiting their ability to model realistic cloth dynamics. We present DynaAvatar, a zero-shot framework that reconstructs animatable 3D human avatars with motion-dependent cloth dynamics from a single image. Trained on large-scale multi-person motion datasets, DynaAvatar employs a Transformer-based feed-forward architecture that directly predicts dynamic 3D Gaussian deformations without subject-specific optimization. To overcome the scarcity of dynamic captures, we introduce a static-to-dynamic knowledge transfer strategy: a Transformer pretrained on large-scale static captures provides strong geometric and appearance priors, which are efficiently adapted to motion-dependent deformations through lightweight LoRA fine-tuning on dynamic captures. We further propose the DynaFlow loss, an optical flow-guided objective that provides reliable motion-direction geometric cues for cloth dynamics in rendered space. Finally, we reannotate the missing or noisy SMPL-X fittings in existing dynamic capture datasets, as most public dynamic capture datasets contain incomplete or unreliable fittings that are unsuitable for training high-quality 3D avatar reconstruction models. Experiments demonstrate that DynaAvatar produces visually rich and generalizable animations, outperforming prior methods.

Single-View Rolling-Shutter SfM

Rolling-shutter (RS) cameras are ubiquitous, but RS SfM (structure-from-motion) has not been fully solved yet. This work suggests an approach to remedy this: We characterize RS single-view geometry of observed world points or lines. Exploiting this geometry, we describe which motion and scene parameters can be recovered from a single RS image and systematically derive minimal reconstruction problems. We evaluate several representative cases with proof-of-concept solvers, highlighting both feasibility and practical limitations.

LiTo: Surface Light Field Tokenization

We propose a 3D latent representation that jointly models object geometry and view-dependent appearance. Most prior works focus on either reconstructing 3D geometry or predicting view-independent diffuse appearance, and thus struggle to capture realistic view-dependent effects. Our approach leverages that RGB-depth images provide samples of a surface light field. By encoding random subsamples of this surface light field into a compact set of latent vectors, our model learns to represent both geometry and appearance within a unified 3D latent space. This representation reproduces view-dependent effects such as specular highlights and Fresnel reflections under complex lighting. We further train a latent flow matching model on this representation to learn its distribution conditioned on a single input image, enabling the generation of 3D objects with appearances consistent with the lighting and materials in the input. Experiments show that our approach achieves higher visual quality and better input fidelity than existing methods.

DogWeave: High-Fidelity 3D Canine Reconstruction from a Single Image via Normal Fusion and Conditional Inpainting

Monocular 3D animal reconstruction is challenging due to complex articulation, self-occlusion, and fine-scale details such as fur. Existing methods often produce distorted geometry and inconsistent textures due to the lack of articulated 3D supervision and limited availability of back-view images in 2D datasets, which makes reconstructing unobserved regions particularly difficult. To address these limitations, we propose DogWeave, a model-based framework for reconstructing high-fidelity 3D canine models from a single RGB image. DogWeave improves geometry by refining a coarsely-initiated parametric mesh into a detailed SDF representation through multi-view normal field optimization using diffusion-enhanced normals. It then generates view-consistent textures through conditional partial inpainting guided by structure and style cues, enabling realistic reconstruction of unobserved regions. Using only about 7,000 dog images processed via our 2D pipeline for training, DogWeave produces complete, realistic 3D models and outperforms state-of-the-art single image to 3d reconstruction methods in both shape accuracy and texture realism for canines.

PixARMesh: Autoregressive Mesh-Native Single-View Scene Reconstruction

We introduce PixARMesh, a method to autoregressively reconstruct complete 3D indoor scene meshes directly from a single RGB image. Unlike prior methods that rely on implicit signed distance fields and post-hoc layout optimization, PixARMesh jointly predicts object layout and geometry within a unified model, producing coherent and artist-ready meshes in a single forward pass. Building on recent advances in mesh generative models, we augment a point-cloud encoder with pixel-aligned image features and global scene context via cross-attention, enabling accurate spatial reasoning from a single image. Scenes are generated autoregressively from a unified token stream containing context, pose, and mesh, yielding compact meshes with high-fidelity geometry. Experiments on synthetic and real-world datasets show that PixARMesh achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction quality while producing lightweight, high-quality meshes ready for downstream applications.

Intrinsic Geometry-Appearance Consistency Optimization for Sparse-View Gaussian Splatting

3D human reconstruction from a single image is a challenging problem and has been exclusively studied in the literature. Recently, some methods have resorted to diffusion models for guidance, optimizing a 3D representation via Score Distillation Sampling(SDS) or generating a back-view image for facilitating reconstruction. However, these methods tend to produce unsatisfactory artifacts (e.g. flattened human structure or over-smoothing results caused by inconsistent priors from multiple views) and struggle with real-world generalization in the wild. In this work, we present MVD-HuGaS, enabling free-view 3D human rendering from a single image via a multi-view human diffusion model. We first generate multi-view images from the single reference image with an enhanced multi-view diffusion model, which is well fine-tuned on high-quality 3D human datasets to incorporate 3D geometry priors and human structure priors. To infer accurate camera poses from the sparse generated multi-view images for reconstruction, an alignment module is introduced to facilitate joint optimization of 3D Gaussians and camera poses. Furthermore, we propose a depth-based Facial Distortion Mitigation module to refine the generated facial regions, thereby improving the overall fidelity of the reconstruction. Finally, leveraging the refined multi-view images, along with their accurate camera poses, MVD-HuGaS optimizes the 3D Gaussians of the target human for high-fidelity free-view renderings. Extensive experiments on Thuman2.0 and 2K2K datasets show that the proposed MVD-HuGaS achieves state-of-the-art performance on single-view 3D human rendering.

Direct Reward Fine-Tuning on Poses for Single Image to 3D Human in the Wild

Single-view 3D human reconstruction has achieved remarkable progress through the adoption of multi-view diffusion models, yet the recovered 3D humans often exhibit unnatural poses. This phenomenon becomes pronounced when reconstructing 3D humans with dynamic or challenging poses, which we attribute to the limited scale of available 3D human datasets with diverse poses. To address this limitation, we introduce DrPose, Direct Reward fine-tuning algorithm on Poses, which enables post-training of a multi-view diffusion model on diverse poses without requiring expensive 3D human assets. DrPose trains a model using only human poses paired with single-view images, employing a direct reward fine-tuning to maximize PoseScore, which is our proposed differentiable reward that quantifies consistency between a generated multi-view latent image and a ground-truth human pose. This optimization is conducted on DrPose15K, a novel dataset that was constructed from an existing human motion dataset and a pose-conditioned video generative model. Constructed from abundant human pose sequence data, DrPose15K exhibits a broader pose distribution compared to existing 3D human datasets. We validate our approach through evaluation on conventional benchmark datasets, in-the-wild images, and a newly constructed benchmark, with a particular focus on assessing performance on challenging human poses. Our results demonstrate consistent qualitative and quantitative improvements across all benchmarks. Project page: https://seunguk-do.github.io/drpose.

Dehallu3D: Hallucination-Mitigated 3D Generation from Single Image via Cyclic View Consistency Refinement

Large 3D reconstruction models have revolutionized the 3D content generation field, enabling broad applications in virtual reality and gaming. Just like other large models, large 3D reconstruction models suffer from hallucinations as well, introducing structural outliers (e.g., odd holes or protrusions) that deviate from the input data. However, unlike other large models, hallucinations in large 3D reconstruction models remain severely underexplored, leading to malformed 3D-printed objects or insufficient immersion in virtual scenes. Such hallucinations majorly originate from that existing methods reconstruct 3D content from sparsely generated multi-view images which suffer from large viewpoint gaps and discontinuities. To mitigate hallucinations by eliminating the outliers, we propose Dehallu3D for 3D mesh generation. Our key idea is to design a balanced multi-view continuity constraint to enforce smooth transitions across dense intermediate viewpoints, while avoiding over-smoothing that could erase sharp geometric features. Therefore, Dehallu3D employs a plug-and-play optimization module with two key constraints: (i) adjacent consistency to ensure geometric continuity across views, and (ii) adaptive smoothness to retain fine details. We further propose the Outlier Risk Measure (ORM) metric to quantify geometric fidelity in 3D generation from the perspective of outliers. Extensive experiments show that Dehallu3D achieves high-fidelity 3D generation by effectively preserving structural details while removing hallucinated outliers.

OMG-Avatar: One-shot Multi-LOD Gaussian Head Avatar

We propose OMG-Avatar, a novel One-shot method that leverages a Multi-LOD (Level-of-Detail) Gaussian representation for animatable 3D head reconstruction from a single image in 0.2s. Our method enables LOD head avatar modeling using a unified model that accommodates diverse hardware capabilities and inference speed requirements. To capture both global and local facial characteristics, we employ a transformer-based architecture for global feature extraction and projection-based sampling for local feature acquisition. These features are effectively fused under the guidance of a depth buffer, ensuring occlusion plausibility. We further introduce a coarse-to-fine learning paradigm to support Level-of-Detail functionality and enhance the perception of hierarchical details. To address the limitations of 3DMMs in modeling non-head regions such as the shoulders, we introduce a multi-region decomposition scheme in which the head and shoulders are predicted separately and then integrated through cross-region combination. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OMG-Avatar outperforms state-of-the-art methods in reconstruction quality, reenactment performance, and computational efficiency. Monocular Mesh Recovery and Body Measurement of Female Saanen Goats

The lactation performance of Saanen dairy goats, renowned for their high milk yield, is intrinsically linked to their body size, making accurate 3D body measurement essential for assessing milk production potential, yet existing reconstruction methods lack goat-specific authentic 3D data. To address this limitation, we establish the FemaleSaanenGoat dataset containing synchronized eight-view RGBD videos of 55 female Saanen goats (6-18 months). Using multi-view DynamicFusion, we fuse noisy, non-rigid point cloud sequences into high-fidelity 3D scans, overcoming challenges from irregular surfaces and rapid movement. Based on these scans, we develop SaanenGoat, a parametric 3D shape model specifically designed for female Saanen goats. This model features a refined template with 41 skeletal joints and enhanced udder representation, registered with our scan data. A comprehensive shape space constructed from 48 goats enables precise representation of diverse individual variations. With the help of SaanenGoat model, we get high-precision 3D reconstruction from single-view RGBD input, and achieve automated measurement of six critical body dimensions: body length, height, chest width, chest girth, hip width, and hip height. Experimental results demonstrate the superior accuracy of our method in both 3D reconstruction and body measurement, presenting a novel paradigm for large-scale 3D vision applications in precision livestock farming.

One2Scene: Geometric Consistent Explorable 3D Scene Generation from a Single Image

Generating explorable 3D scenes from a single image is a highly challenging problem in 3D vision. Existing methods struggle to support free exploration, often producing severe geometric distortions and noisy artifacts when the viewpoint moves far from the original perspective. We introduce One2Scene, an effective framework that decomposes this ill-posed problem into three tractable sub-tasks to enable immersive explorable scene generation. We first use a panorama generator to produce anchor views from a single input image as initialization. Then, we lift these 2D anchors into an explicit 3D geometric scaffold via a generalizable, feed-forward Gaussian Splatting network. Instead of treating the panorama as a single image for reconstruction, we project it into multiple sparse anchor views and reformulate the reconstruction task as multi-view stereo matching, which allows us to leverage robust geometric priors learned from large-scale multi-view datasets. A bidirectional feature fusion module is used to enforce cross-view consistency, yielding an efficient and geometrically reliable scaffold. Finally, the scaffold serves as a strong prior for a novel view generator to produce photorealistic and geometrically accurate views at arbitrary cameras. By explicitly conditioning on a 3D-consistent scaffold to perform reconstruction, One2Scene works stably under large camera motions, supporting immersive scene exploration. Extensive experiments show that One2Scene substantially outperforms state-of-the-art methods in panorama depth estimation, feed-forward 360° reconstruction, and explorable 3D scene generation. PAct: Part-Decomposed Single-View Articulated Object Generation

Articulated objects are central to interactive 3D applications, including embodied AI, robotics, and VR/AR, where functional part decomposition and kinematic motion are essential. Yet producing high-fidelity articulated assets remains difficult to scale because it requires reliable part decomposition and kinematic rigging. Existing approaches largely fall into two paradigms: optimization-based reconstruction or distillation, which can be accurate but often takes tens of minutes to hours per instance, and inference-time methods that rely on template or part retrieval, producing plausible results that may not match the specific structure and appearance in the input observation. We introduce a part-centric generative framework for articulated object creation that synthesizes part geometry, composition, and articulation under explicit part-aware conditioning. Our representation models an object as a set of movable parts, each encoded by latent tokens augmented with part identity and articulation cues. Conditioned on a single image, the model generates articulated 3D assets that preserve instance-level correspondence while maintaining valid part structure and motion. The resulting approach avoids per-instance optimization, enables fast feed-forward inference, and supports controllable assembly and articulation, which are important for embodied interaction. Experiments on common articulated categories (e.g., drawers and doors) show improved input consistency, part accuracy, and articulation plausibility over optimization-based and retrieval-driven baselines, while substantially reducing inference time.

One-Shot Feed-Forward 360∘^{\circ} Animatable Avatar via Inpainted UV-Space Gaussian Modeling

Building one-shot 3D animatable head avatars is an important yet challenging problem. Existing methods generally collapse under large camera pose variations, compromising the realism of 3D avatars. In this work, we propose a new framework to tackle the novel setting of one-shot 3D full-head animatable avatar reconstruction in a single forward pass via inpainted UV-space Gaussian modeling, enabling 360∘^\circ rendering views and real-time animation. To facilitate efficient animation control, we model 3D head avatars with Gaussian primitives embedded on the surface of a parametric face model within the UV space, and project the input image features to the UV space, resulting in incomplete local UV feature maps. To inpaint the missing regions, we obtain knowledge of full-head geometry and textures from rich 3D full-head priors within a pretrained 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) for global full-head feature extraction and multi-view supervision. Specifically, to enhance the fidelity of 3D reconstruction during inpainting, we take advantage of the symmetric nature of the UV space and human faces to fuse incomplete yet detailed local UV feature maps with the extracted global full-head textures, resulting in inpainted UV Gaussian attribute maps for avatar modeling. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method is the first to achieve high-quality 3D full-head animatable avatar modeling, significantly improving side and back views while outperforming state-of-the-art animation approaches, thereby improving the realism of 3D animatable avatars.

PanoLAM: Large Avatar Model for Gaussian Full-Head Synthesis from One-shot Unposed Image

We present a feed-forward framework for static Gaussian full-head reconstruction and novel-view rendering from a single unposed image. Unlike previous work that relies on time-consuming GAN inversion and test-time optimization, our framework can reconstruct the Gaussian full-head model given a single unposed image in a single forward pass. This enables fast reconstruction and rendering during inference. To mitigate the lack of large-scale 3D head assets, we propose a large-scale synthetic dataset from trained 3D GANs and train our framework using only synthetic data. For efficient high-fidelity generation, we introduce a coarse-to-fine Gaussian head generation pipeline, where sparse points from the FLAME model interact with the image features by transformer blocks for feature extraction and coarse shape reconstruction, which are then densified for high-fidelity reconstruction. To fully leverage the prior knowledge residing in pretrained 3D GANs for effective reconstruction, we propose a dual-branch framework that effectively aggregates the structured spherical triplane feature and unstructured point-based features for more effective Gaussian head reconstruction. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our framework compared to existing work. The dataset is available at https://github.com/PanoLAM/PanoLAM_Dataset.

SEGA: Drivable 3D Gaussian Head Avatar from a Single Image

Creating photorealistic 3D head avatars from limited input has become increasingly important for applications in virtual reality, telepresence, and digital entertainment. While recent advances like neural rendering and 3D Gaussian splatting have enabled high-quality digital human avatar creation and animation, most methods rely on multiple images or multi-view inputs, limiting their practicality for real-world use. In this paper, we propose SEGA, a novel approach for Single-imagE-based 3D drivable Gaussian head Avatar creation that combines generalized prior models with a new hierarchical UV-space Gaussian Splatting framework. SEGA seamlessly combines priors derived from large-scale 2D datasets with 3D priors learned from multi-view, multi-expression, and multi-ID data, achieving robust generalization to unseen identities while ensuring 3D consistency across novel viewpoints and expressions. We further present a hierarchical UV-space Gaussian Splatting framework that leverages FLAME-based structural priors and employs a dual-branch architecture to disentangle dynamic and static facial components effectively. The dynamic branch encodes expression-driven fine details, while the static branch focuses on expression-invariant regions, enabling efficient parameter inference and precomputation. This design maximizes the utility of limited 3D data and achieves real-time performance for animation and rendering. Additionally, SEGA performs person-specific fine-tuning to further enhance the fidelity and realism of the generated avatars. Experiments show our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in generalization ability, identity preservation, and expression realism, advancing one-shot avatar creation for practical applications.

CATSplat: Context-Aware Transformer with Spatial Guidance for Generalizable 3D Gaussian Splatting from A Single-View Image

Recently, generalizable feed-forward methods based on 3D Gaussian Splatting have gained significant attention for their potential to reconstruct 3D scenes using finite resources. These approaches create a 3D radiance field, parameterized by per-pixel 3D Gaussian primitives, from just a few images in a single forward pass. However, unlike multi-view methods that benefit from cross-view correspondences, 3D scene reconstruction with a single-view image remains an underexplored area. In this work, we introduce CATSplat, a novel generalizable transformer-based framework designed to break through the inherent constraints in monocular settings. First, we propose leveraging textual guidance from a visual-language model to complement insufficient information from a single image. By incorporating scene-specific contextual details from text embeddings through cross-attention, we pave the way for context-aware 3D scene reconstruction beyond relying solely on visual cues. Moreover, we advocate utilizing spatial guidance from 3D point features toward comprehensive geometric understanding under single-view settings. With 3D priors, image features can capture rich structural insights for predicting 3D Gaussians without multi-view techniques. Extensive experiments on large-scale datasets demonstrate the state-of-the-art performance of CATSplat in single-view 3D scene reconstruction with high-quality novel view synthesis.
